There are many marriage-able men. But they belong to those worthy of their present (broke) state and will reap their future (accomplished) state together. |

OP is partly right just because times are tough and guys are finding it harder to commit and the rich ones can pick and choose. On the other hand, this is not new and a woman's life has different seasons. A girl is most attractive and wasted between 19 and 27. Anything after 28, their value reduces. Unfortunately, most naija girls are proud and love the attention they get. So when they are within the ripe ages (19 -27) they are proud and play hard to get, but they suddenly notice at age 29 that all the attention they used to get at 22 is all gone. Very few guys will look at them and most of the responsible guys will have been taken. So they are left with the very young ones whom they cannot date and the irresponsible ones. So they say there are few guys out there these days. There is a season to everything, for the young girls (under 25) reading this, you should know that the attention you are getting now will not last for much longer. Try and find a guy to settle down with even if he is not 10/10. In another 5 years, you would be damaged goods or even obsolete. |

mamalola19: mamalola, your advice leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. so it's all about who loves the chics and not who they love? so if your meiguard loves you 9/10, that criterion alone makes him a hot candidate? no wonder naija babes are confused. |

The gurls are the cause of this ugly situation. They demand too much and yet sex is as cheap as pure water. So guys are not ready to marry. 1 Like |

Don't u think marriage-able women r scarcer? Are those looking for marriage-able men marriage-able themselves? |
Re: is There A Shortage Of Marriage-able Men In Nigeria? Girls Becoming Desperate by tpia5: 3:31am On Feb 23, 2012 |
bknight: Who knows Are those looking for marriage-able men marriage-able themselves? its easier to mold an unmarriageable woman into a marriageable one, than to mold an unmarriageable man into marriage material, dont you think. you know for women, they can be all sorts of things but become serious when marriage/relationship is involved. |

True tpia. I guess u gave it more thots dan I did. But its except d "molding" means "permanently changed" else women keep their true behaviors in their fingertips till after wedding, d 'molding' can be a mere well articulated deceit. |

shadrach77: i've heard and i believe that the days of ladies playing ;hard-to-get' is gone in nigeria - a lot of ladies have lamented about how Nigerian men are unwilling to tie the knot and finding a responsible man is becoming more and more difficult. Recently i read a story about a guy who registered with a dating agency and within a short period, he had been introduced to over 8 ladies. Within weeks, he had slept with five of them. I'm amazed too at the ease at which i make friends and collect numbers of 9ja girls on facebook - it's the ladies who even make the move nowadays. The suitors are not coming and the ladies are becoming increasingly desperate and would do anything to hook a man Sleeping with five women within weeks? What exactly is he looking for, that's a sex addiction which in turn contributes to man shortage. |

Not necessarily impossible though, and having said that, some women really do prefer remaining single after marriage, just like some men. |
