owobokiri: Borrowing is not a taboo. What we should be mindfull of is how the borrowed sum is spent. Every developing country borrows to fund projects essential for the rapid development of the state. .Problem with Iweala and Nigeria is that we know what will happen to these borrowed sum. Iweala is a vintage coward! An establishment candidate. She always prefer policy alternatives that forces ordinary Nigerians to bear the cost and pains of government corruption. So she borrows again and again, mortgaging the future of the country although she is well aware that most of these funds will be looted. She supports fuel price hikes even if the accruing reveneu will be used to bribe senators and governors whom she will NEVER challenge strongly over their corrupt ways. The woman is totally disconnected from the ordinary Nigerian! A textbook finance minister.
Well said!I couldn't have put it any better!

Wait, lets not blame Iweala jare. Its GEJ that wants to borrow the money not Iweala.
Wasnt she the one who cleared our debts under OBJs administration?
Its GEJ that is clueless! GEJ wants to run this country dry.
Maxim: OBJ brought in Iweala to clear our debts while GEJ brought in Iweala to incur more debts... And she must obey orders.

That means OBJ was the one that actually made possible the debt cancellation not Iweala. By being helpless here to the point of even imploring senate to grant such is an hight of irresponsibility. She is part of this, the honorable step would have been a resignation.

Follow nigeria,i think the amount that is being generated by custom in apapa everyday is enough to salt out any Problem JONATHAN adminstration may be passing through let alone oil revenue generated.I think jonathan administration is a completely faliure for inable to capitalize in fuel increase generated from january to may, failure to capitalize in revenue generated in apapa, apart from other zone, then where are we heading to,do we need a to wait for God to fight for us before they milk the country dry?

I do not blame our leaders anymore. Honestly we should be asking ourselves why we made or keep making the same mistake of voting for the wrong person. Those curses should also go to the people that voted these set of leaders in. We all knew at the time of the election that this man was not the right man for the job but we went ahead putting our future and the lives of the generations to come in jeopardy. Even those on Nairaland who I believed were more enlightened fell into that same trap.

I remember we used to read people campaigning for him because he is from the south, cos he is a niger deltan, cos his middle or other name is Igbo, becos he is a xtian, becos his name is goodluck, becos he never had shoes, becos he is on facebook WHILE WE NEVER CONSIDERED HIS TRACK RECORD, HIS NON-ACHIEVEMENT WAS NOT IMPORTANT TO US.

It is a shame!

My predictions- 2015, this guy would contest and most likely against someone from the North But people would still vote for badluck ALL BECOS THEY DO NOT WANT TO VOTE FOR SOMEONE FROM THE NORTH- Badluck would win and continue to mess up the country and our future.

When are we going to enjoy our existence

This country is still dealing with basic structures and amenities while other serious nations don move to another level of development. Countries who are not as rich or blessed as we are have gone beyond. Basic challenges like water, electricity or roads are not there problem anymore yet we are stilll here talking of poor or no supply of electricity, no water and bad roads. When are we moving to the next stage to face other challenges? When are we ever going to get it right?

Trully we deserve the set of leaders we have in this nation.. We as the masses need to change first before leaders but all we do is to come on Nairaland to throw insults at each others tribe.

May God help us
