abegi,so wats exciting about this news? the case will get to court and will be thrown out for lack of.... fill in the blank space.even if its not thrown out,the most that will happen is that the person(s) get a slap on the wrist and that will be the end of the issue.we don they watch this particular film for nigerian politics since 1999 and by now we auppose don know the ending.anyway, grab your popcorn, hot dog,ice-cream or wateva kind refreshment you have cause the spirit tells me that this is a 'must watch movie'.they are just trying to push Fa-crooks case to the background

I think it's time the military brought some sanity to this shithole of a country.

This was Buhari's pause button on our democracy march. Let us leave the military out of this because it will throw us back to 1983.

All these things are happening because we have never been at this stage before in our national life. Trust me, something will come out of all these and Nigeria will crush these evil men and move on. It will be bitter, tough, nearly hopeless and heartbreaking, but nonetheless fruitful in the end.

2015 is ahead of all of us, what will we make out of it? Are we ready to prepare now? Or would we wait for that year to happen upon us like 2003...2007...2011?

I do not have any confidence in EFCC. Do you?

“In fact, we are also looking into other allegations that one of the officials who is still young in public service has about three estates in Abuja alone and recently went to take a bride in Egypt. We will try to establish his sources of funds and see whether there is a link between the huge cash withdrawals in his name and his expenditures.”

Pure witch-hunting.. The EFCC, ICPC are mere tools to undermine political figures who dosen't belong to or has fallen from the 'CABAL'. Lets assume he went to Egypt to get a bride, so what? What about other cases in point where Officials go abroad to buy Mansions?? 'The house of Reps' is also the 'House of Shame'... Period!

If not for GEJ, una for know wetin de happen?
I greatly admire GEJ's coded way of operating. Abi na you wan save Farouk Lawan?

I don't seem to agree with beaf on this one,mr president has never and will never be involved in the politics of the house because he is an unrepentant believer in the separation of power.so it really has nothing to do with GEJ.

When OBASANJO said that the NASS is bunch of corrupt elements, the haters wanted to crucify him. Facts have started emerging. From Hembe to Farouk Lawan to this one which will soon be named. this is just the beginning.Remember that Farouk lawan led the campaign that unseated Patricia Etteh on fraud allegation. Senators are still hiding their corrupt elements.Prof Pat Utomi revealed recently that somebody who once duped him is now a serving Senator. Probes all the time, what is the outcome? Nullity.

Nigeria has gone to the dogs. Nigeria will never be good Again. EFCC corrupt, ICPC corrupt, PHCN corrupt, Presidency corrupt.

My advise is let nobody pray for Nigeria again. Anybody who does, is an enemy of the massses.

Even as the dust raised by the alleged $3 million bribery scandal in the House of Representatives is yet to settle, another storm is already raging in the lower chamber of the National Assembly, as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has begun investigation into an alleged strange massive cash withdrawals running into N1.5 billion from the House accounts.

Saturday Sun exclusively gathered that the fresh scandal has already led to the invitation and interrogation of about four officials of the National Assembly. It was, however, gathered that the withdrawals were made before the present Speaker of the House, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, assumed office.

Competent sources in EFCC told Saturday Sun that the Bank Fraud unit of the EFCC, which is located in Garki area of Abuja, is investigating the fraud case, which is being treated as “criminal conspiracy, stealing and money laundering.”

The sources confirmed that about four officials so far interrogated over the matter were allegedly used severally to pull out the cash from the House bank accounts “because the cheques were written in their names to cash the huge funds from some banks in Abuja.”

According to a member of the investigating team, who pleaded for anonymity, “the funds were actually withdrawn over a period of time, especially in the last quarter of 2010 and they were withdrawn by some officials in the speaker’s office in millions. For instance, you see junior officers withdrawing millions of naira. In a particular case, a junior officer was asked to withdraw N10 million from Oceanic Bank in August and same person was also asked to withdraw another N20 million from a GT bank account in November same year.”

“In fact, we are also looking into other allegations that one of the officials who is still young in public service has about three estates in Abuja alone and recently went to take a bride in Egypt. We will try to establish his sources of funds and see whether there is a link between the huge cash withdrawals in his name and his expenditures.”

A member of the House who pleaded anonymity however said, “I believe there is more to this sudden focus on the House by agents of the executive. It is beyond a coincidence that one scandal keeps breaking after another as if the House is the only organ of government where these things happen. We believe they are deliberate and targeted.”

The solution to Nigeria problem is when Politicians start exposing themselves.

@the emboldened, he is not a politician, he is a civil servant (chief accountant) in the office of the speaker, he is a small man (farouk is bigger and taller to him), his name starts with A...........

Military boys, we are a nation of cowards...pls organize yourselves and wipe out these unarmed robbers off the face of the earth. At this point, democracy is not working for Nigeria...what we need is a no-nonsense military man that will run this country for few years. May God answer this prayer - amen.
