If you give a guy money for your bride price, it means you're marrying him and not the other way round and that aint right. But its no crime if you're richer than your husband.

Parents no longer collect bride price. Plus, any guy that can't pay his wife-to-be's bride price is not man enough.

Not quite, in India the groom is still counted as marrying the bride. Hence the bride's family "loses" both ways, money and lineage.

they just use the money to symbolise the payment
it could be 100 naira or 200 sef
like my aunt bride price last year was 100 naira

what of if he doesn't have the 100 or 200. Won't you help him out?
