Does it do hard starting? Check the car ignition system coil on the engine if it has gone bad because flood spoil it most times.

Check your hand brake system if its okay, also check the brake fluid if its gauged. Check if the transmission fluid is gauged and if its still okay, if not change with a good atf specified by Honda. A good auto mech will know.

Laruze: Any help guys,
I got this Honda accord 03/04. the maintenance light comes on anytime i start the engine, but goes off after blinking for few seconds i.e 7sec. Also my TCS and brake light stays on permanently. but the car is in good condition. I just serviced the car few weeks ago, even though the transmission fluid has not been changed in like 3years now. Can it be that the maintenance light blinking is for transmission fluid change? if YES, then am scared running a new transmission fluid into the tran box bearing in mind all the scary stories of damaging the tran box if the transmission fluid is overhaul. Honda transmission gurus in the house,ur candid advise is needed.

pristine: How would i Know if My Gaskets are burnt?
1, Water bubles up from radiator on starting engine.
2, If oil slick is seen mixed wit water inside the radiator.
3, If your car temperature rises persistently without a leakage and your fans are ok.

If it's stuck due to rusting then there's not much you can do, ask your mechanic to get genuine BGF master brake cylinder for you, it's sold for 4k.

For chilling ACs,Change your AC filter as stated in the manual.else cool and fresh air cant find its way into ur vehicle due to dust on the AC filter.Camrys dont have this filter hence air enters the cars unfiltered and gives a false believe that camry ACs are cooler than EODs
Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by pristine(m): 9:29am On Aug 05, 2012
What is the cause of an AC that only chills when i am in motion
Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by tushbobo(m): 9:10pm On Aug 05, 2012
Maybe u need to check d gas.But if uve not changed d air filter in a while change that first,it only costs 2500 or so.I had dat problem and once I changed d filter it was ok
Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by iykeG(m): 9:12pm On Aug 05, 2012
There are 2 causes.

1. It can be that your ac gas is short so you need to top up gas.

2. After you top up the gas and its still continues, then your AC compressor is weak thus it does not have enough pressure to pump the gas around when you are not in motion.

Thanks...I would change the filter first and see how that fares

Been watching this tread for a while, Good stuff here. i just want to chip something in. Never Ever use Dexron II or Dexron I ATF fluid for your honda transmission you would eventually trash your transmission, The recommend ATF is Honda DW1 or Z1 if you can't get these you can use a Dexron III/MERCON compatible ATF. you are required to change your ATF every 60,000 Miles. Do this and your transmission would last a very long time. cool

Get your car scanned/diagnosed but i can tell you that it is a sign of a faulty ABS module or break light switch.

numen: My Maintenance Tips:

1.) Change Engine Oil every 3000km (I use Mobil)
2.) Use Oando's Dexron II for the Gear Box (Abro will knock your gear) - (already mentioned)
3.) While driving be mindful not to always turn the steering to the last possible angle(helps the shaft)
4.) If you have an open roof, periodically clean the drainage hole to avoid water leaking into the car
5.) Vibrating Sound infront of the car? Check your engine sitting(already mentioned)
6.) Your single pipe radiator which used to work might not be the cause of your current over-heating...Check your water pump!
7.) Your car is not accelerating according to pedal pressure? Timing Belt might be the culprit.

Just my 2cents guys. Hope this helps someone. I luv this thread like I luv my Honda.

This is awesome my bro, really gonna staick to s but can u expantiate on d last point my accord doesn't really pick up.tnks

There are good mechanics in Ebute-metta that can do it for you, but it's better to replace than to repair. Is your babyboy 4 or 6 cylinder.
