DextronII is specified for Toyotas, especially the 1MZ engines for 90`s Camry and Siena, it`s not too compatible with Honda gearboxes. Honda is better with DW1.
Hi bro. So which product meets this spec and where can one obtain it? My car (1999 Accord) wouldnt engage reverse, took it to a guy who fixed it and put Oando fluid which I believe is Dextron 11. After a while the trans started acting up, the gear 3 selects so violently you might think the engine will fall out.

For your 1999 Accord, you better stick with ATF-Z1, it`s made for older Hondas, but from what your said your gear three is bad and since you`ve repaired it once, you might think of replacement.

Thank you sir. So which product meets that spec (ATF-Z1) and where is it easily obtained? So no hope on fixing the tranny again? Guy told me he could? I appreciate

Hi nairalanders,

Pls I own an honda bulldog and weeks ago, I replaced the complete engine. While. Driving, I notice that d D4 light on d dashboard keep blinking and raising d accelerator pedal @ times only makes noise and only picks up after a while. I used an abro transmission fluid oil in d gear box. Kindly advise.

Did you change the engine and gear together, if so, then there are issues with your gear box, you can try changing the gear or drive switch (they mean same thing), then exchange the Abro ATF with with ATF-Z1

@luvinghubby and guys: what could be the cause of this? My steering is so stiff while trying to make a slow turn or reverse but operates normally while in motion, more like a manual steering, only. The fluid is gauged and my tires are ok. I drive accord 07. Thaanks.

Your power steering pump is weak and works better on increased engine rotation, you'll seriously consider changing the pump.

Your steering pump is weak, pumps fluid at higher engine rotation, consider replacing the pump.

Pls I need info. My Honda Odyssey drive indicator light is not showing anymore. I researched and found a light online that is said to be a replacement for instrument lights - check engine, transmission, maintenance, etc. Is the drive light or any other light on the instrument cluster replaceable?
Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by aodiki: 10:47pm On Oct 22, 2012
9jacrip: Ive been dealing with something similar. In the moring or after several hours of not driving, the automatic gear button is soft to press and gear is easy to move - after a while it becomes really hard to move except i use both hards to press the button down before being able to move the gear. I also need help!!!!!!

I think u need to check ur battery and charging system. I had similar hard shifting when my alternator was bad and my battery went low.
