Mrexcell: The presidentās veto is to reject a bill passed by the National Assembly. He canāt veto a bill into law. Again, when the president vetoes a bill, the National Assembly can override his veto by passing the bill into law with 2/3 members of both chambers. In 2003, the National Assembly override President Obasanjoās veto of the onshore/offshore dichotomy bill and passed it into law without the presidentās assent. The law still exist till today. |

Mrexcell: I never said āfraudulentlyā inserted. Thatās your choice of word. Again, the National Assembly has the power of appropriation. They can change rewrite the entire budget as proposed by the executive and pass it into law themselves even if the president disagree. Thatās how powerful they are. |

irumanle: Iām a bit involved in the process. The lawmakers own these projects 100%. They put them in any MDA where they have an arrangement with the Accounting Officer. They nominate the contractor and collect the money. No outside contractor can win no matter the bid. |

Akwamkpuruamu: Iām sure you have at least two lawmakers representing your areas. Ask them this question. They are in a better place to tell you why they inserted the projects in this manner. 1 Like |

Constituency projects and nothing else. The projects were not initiated by the school but inserted into the schoolās budget by lawmakers. You all want lawmakers to attract projects to your constituencies but you will still come and cry about it. If you donāt want budgetary provisions like this, tell your elected lawmakers to stop constituency projects. Tinubu has nothing to do with constituency projects. Itās your lawmakers from APC, PDP and Labour Party that inserted the projects in the budget of MDAs. 12 Likes 1 Share |
Politics / Re: Court Upholds Ize-Iyamuās Land Rights In Edo by ALTERNATEID: 4:47am On Sep 25 |
The Judge probably waited till after the election to give the judgement. Obaseki is finished so there is no point fearing him again. Obasekiās woes are even just starting. Once Monday Okpebolo takes over, the real shege will start. Everything he owns in Edo state will be demolished. He will be fed with the exact wickedness he fed to opposition members like Kabaka, Ize-Iyamu etc and he wonāt get any public sympathy. His worst fears are about to become his reality. 28 Likes 4 Shares |

Politics / Re: Edo Governorship Election Was Widely Peaceful, Says US by ALTERNATEID: 10:25pm On Sep 24 |
Those trying to discredit the Edo election knew they lost in a free and fair contest. Both the PDP and LP have not made any noise about going to court. The results of the election as announced at polling units were uploaded up to about 96% before the election was declared. Anyone can go online, download all the results and collate them to get the final result as declared by INEC. Nothing is hidden. 2 Likes |

This is not looking good. The satellite will be used to spy on Nigeria and hence a security threat to us. About time Nigeria work with other West African countries and western powers to dismantle the puppet regimes in Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso before they do more harm to the sub region. 13 Likes 4 Shares |

Politics / Re: Media Ombudsman Rules Against Daily Trust For False Reportage Of Samoa Agreement by ALTERNATEID: 6:54pm On Sep 24 |
Asking them to publish an apology is not enough deterrent for future false publications. In fact, this decision will encourage them to publish more fake news and just apologize after months of investigation. When the media ombudsman is serious, they will impose heavy fines that can cripple the newspaper. Thatās the only way to deal with fake news platforms like Daily Trust. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

Politics / Re: Why FG Must End Petrol Subsidy Now ā Dangote by ALTERNATEID: 7:09am On Sep 24 |
CodeTemplarr: NNPCL is buying PMS as sole off-taker because of subsidy and thatās what Dangote is complaining about. Remove the subsidy completely and there will be no need for NNPCL to be the sole offtaker. Marketers will be able to buy directly from Dangote refinery and sell at whatever prices they like once subsidy is removed completely and the sector is fully deregulated. 2 Likes |

We thank God for the victory. Special thanks to the people of Edo state for showing Obaseki that heās not God. It was a complete disgrace and a well deserved one for such a terrible and undemocratic tyrant. He fought every single person that worked for him to become governor and still think he can singlehandedly impose a governor on the state. The payback from the people is so sweet. 2 Likes |

Politics / Re: When Will Nigerians Be Tired Of Suffering by ALTERNATEID: 2:40pm On Sep 22 |
LOVEALAIGBO: Thatās your opining and I donāt think the people of Edo state your your sentiments. Obaseki is a well educated and well spoken man with very good background in the private sector before becoming the governor. Still, he performed abysmally low. In addition, he was a dictator and a bully who fought just about everyone that once supported him. Monday may not be as smooth as Asue in terms of oratory, heās however a grassroots leader who has a good understanding of the problems of the state. Before yesterdayās election, he was the first person since 1999 to win a senate seat on the platform of a party other than PDP in Edo central senatorial district. That should tell you something about his popularity and acceptance to the people. Even when APC primary for governorship was conducted and Oshiomole and his cronies manipulated the process to throw up someone else, party members protested until the ticket was returned to him. Edo people know him and they trusted him more than Asue and the LP man. Democracy is all about the will of the people. 1 Like |
