No mind me sha. just my experience. I had the V6 and a friend had I4 (albeit, 2009 model). we both maintained our cars well. Mine had 145Kmiles to start with, his 80k (we confirmed on carfax). 4 years later in 2017, his own was seeing its last leg of life. mine is still strong till today with the guy i sold it to. (almost 200k miles).

here's my comment.

The Benz is largely a better car to drive and generally to be inside. Maintenance is not crazy as long as you keep up with anything that pops up, deal with it. wahala comes when you leave things too long. Service the car regularly and it will not disappoint you. Benz is for a grown up responsible car owner, or else you will end up with stories like "this car is too expensive" haha. I sold my Benz in 2018 when i was going to live somewhere else for a while. I'm back now and still see the car with the guy i sold it to.. looking sharp and strong

Right now, I have the 2009 GS350 - Amazing car to drive and yes, it is slightly cheaper to maintain. however, believe it or not, fuel consumption is slightly more than the Benz. One important difference is the GS is forgiving to careless owners. it continues to go even when you neglect it unlike the Benz. Treat it well and you will love it even more. My version is AWD and i can tell you it is the first Toyota brand that almost handles like a German car. Feels heavy and sturdy and certainly not paper like (*Coughs* Camry).
GS is one of very few rear wheel drive Toyota based Saloon. and they nailed it.

In terms of costs, a good GS350 2007 - 2010 will set you back 4 - 5.5m toks, while Benz should cost a little more. please someone help with the range, i don't know much about the 320 cost.

Overall, I would advice to go for the GS. Unless you particularly want to drive a Mercedes. It is cheaper to buy, easier on the pocket to maintain since it is a Toyota underneath. and it actually packs a lot of kits and tricks that you can only get in a full option Benz.
Most of all, there is a uniqueness to the GS. them no plenty for road unlike ES.
