I doubt they still do. Considering the last transcript stating that they want only US citizens in that particular time

ozycy:
Do these people still give pregnant ladies visa? No more interview transcript here

MiracleMum:

Whilst I was breaking down the cost of obgyn, hospital and pead to her, I made an attempt to show her my personalized letter from the Doctor/hospital including budget sheet, she declined sighting it. Infact she didn't even check any document out from me.im hoping she isn't seeing the amount as too small? But that's what I got from Doctores Para Ti

Vlesparza:

Email correspondence is not enough at times, did you provide a personalized letter from the doctor accepting you as a patient?

I'm considering the option of DW applying alone next tho, but I actually plan to stay the whole of the 9weeks because I have a business of my own, but I think the VO wasn't comfortable with this. I can shorten my stay the. If that gives us a better chance. Thanks for your time

Tripletmom:

Sorry about d denial,i think u should consider ur DW to apply alone first den u can apply for urs later.
Am sure u r not goin to spend d whole 9 weeks also. Incase u stil want both of you to apply together, let d VO know u Wil b staying for bleep weeks n ur DW Wil b staying for bleep weeks.
You can expendite ur app date considering her EDD is in May.

Hello house, kindly help me review my transcript biko, so I can know where I went wrong.
captain90210:
Hello house, now I know how it feels to be denied something you feel you merited and out of the blues, you just get denied without proper scrutiny. With all I've read here, I was so sure to get my visa today, but nah nah nah. Our transcript goes thus with the white lady in window 9:

DH&DW: good morning
VO: can't even remember if she replied
VO: passports please
DW&DH: handed them over to her
VO: why are u going to the US
DH: explained oo, button line sha Vacation & Childbirth
VO: where in the US are you going
DH: el paso, Texas
VO: what do you do
DH: I'm a bleep, I own a company established in bleep, offering bleep Services
VO: how long are you staying
DH: 9 weeks
VO: have you contacted any doctor
DH: yes, explained by saying we've had correspondence with Doctores para ti and also mentioned the contact person and address bla bla bla
VO: how much did she say it'll cost you
DH: I was explaining in details hospital fee, obgy & pead amount, asked to show her the hospital correspondence & budget sheet, she declined
VO: how long have you been married
DH&DH: a year in bleep month, even said it's our anniversary month we would be giving birth
VO: turns to wifey: madam what do you do
DW: I'm a bleep at bleep
VO: how long av you been working there
DW: bleep years in bleep month
She's been typing intermittently all the while
VO: sorry!!!!!! You do not qualify to bla bla bla. Hands over the blue paper ooo

She didn't even ask for a single document to be checked. Shes issued blue paper to 2 previous applicants, and I never saw a white paper close to her or on her table. Like she was programmed there to issue blue paper all through. Gurus in the house, help me assess where as an applicant we have gone wrong. Would reapply and try again. So devastating sha.

I'm surprised at your refusal, despite travel experience and being the 3rd time. She would have based on courtesy, just told you where uve gone wrong. Cos if u knew, u can't be doing the wrong thing thrice. Try Canada as suggested and if fate says Nigeria, God will see u through this.

[quoteodadi2 post=64993150]I was interviewed again today(3rd time)

VO: why are you going to the US

To have my second child

VO: Have u travelled outside Nigeria before

Yes. In 2016 to have my first

VO: How long are you staying
3months

VO: Do you have the proper documentations this time?
Yes I do, which one would you like to see

VO:Doctors correspondence and expenses
I gave her all email communications, appointment confirmation, expenses sheet from doctor, my budget sheet of $20,100

VO: checked very well, and asked for financial cover
Gave her Nigeria bank statement, US statement, payslips, employment letter from my office.

VO: checked through and said, sorry you are not eligible for the visa.

I went ahead this time to asked her why I am not eligible, she referred me to online information for medical tourism criteria and the documents required, I told her these are all required, tell me whc isn't there.

VO: You brought them but they are not making sense. I also said sorry, is it the account statements or the doctors correspondence and I feel you could ask a question or two if there's something not clear to you. ? VO kept mute and later said that everythingis there on paper, you don't need to be explained anything.

I wanted to talk again then she said she's sorry, she may not be able to give me any more information. Have a nice day!

Only God knows the criteria for getting US visa again now cos I don't get it anymore. My visa expires in January, many people told me to use it before expiry and I will be stamped. But because I like following due process, I said NO that I'll renew my visa, now see my life. I have spent up to 500k applying and travelling for visa interviews. The same thing I got in 2016 by just saying the truth this way, and even now my income has increased and the claim is I am not eligible. It is well!

I'm so in support of your response. Oga twoods, you have to respect people's situations. If you can't advice, allow the sleeping dog lie

Springdance:

Whoa, how rude can you get, who made you judge and jury. If you read clearly without prejudice, she said they were already separated before the divorce and she didn't say her husband was remarried, how did you come to that conclusion. The way you attack people on this forum is uncalled for.

happyme31:
hello everyone. I have been following this thread and it has been very helpful, So I am here to give back. I applied for US visa 2016 while single and was denied. I got married last year and I am currently pregnant. So based on information from here, I decided to applied for medical visa together with my mother. Certain agencies I saw online charged about 400k . I couldnt start spending all that money now, So I decided to do it myself. I got a doctor's email at WHMC Texas and started correspondence. I paid $200 for an appointment and got several documents which I took along.

I had my interview 7.30 am this morning Feb 1st in Abuja and it went thus:
Me: Good Morning (smiling)
VO: Morning ( he showed no emotions)
Mum: Good morning ( VO didnt reply)
VO: Passports please. What's the relationship?
Me: She is mother.
Mum: She is my daughter.
Me: (I hand him a family picture)
VO: Madam please dont bring out any documents until I ask you to.
Me: Okay. sorry sir.
VO: Why are you going to the US?
Me: To give birth.
Mum: To assist her because its her first child.
VO: What do you do?
Me: I am an architect. I work at ....
Mum: I wotk with the FG. Ministry of ...
VO: Have you travelled outside the country?
Me: I have been travelling to the UK since 2013. I currently have a valid 2 years visa.
VO: Is that all?
Me: I have been to Dubai, Singapore and some African countries.
VO: Have you contacted a doctor? Can I have your correspondence?
Me: (I hand the documents to him) Yes, I have a letter from my doctor and I have paid for my first appointment. ( I forgot at this point to even mention the name of the doctor and hospital)
VO: Whats the total cost of your medical fees?
Me: From the budget sent by my doctor, the cost is $7000.
VO: Madam that is certainly very little. May I remind you that the US has the highest medical cost in the world...(He starts raising his voice)
Me: That is just the hospital and doctor's cost sir. Our budget for the entire trip including living expenses is $16000. You asked for the medical fees...(I was getting a little apprehensive and I started praying silently)
VO: (Starts typing) So how much do you say is the cost of your trip?
Me: $16,000 sir.
VO: How will you be paying?
Me: My husband and I will be paying.
VO: What does your husband do?
Me: He is a media consultant. He works with FG.
VO: Can I have your bank statement?
Me: (I hand him 2 bank statements). I also have a fixed deposit that will mature in May. (He didnt bother to look at it)
VO: How many children do you have?
Me: This is my first child.
VO: (Turns to my mum) Madam, how many children do you have?
Mum: I have 9 children.
VO: (Types for some minutes while I was praying and wondering what he could be thinking) Madam you can take back these documents. Your visa has been approved. Have a safe trip. (He hands be the white papet)

I really Thank God for everything. I hope to leave end of April or 1st week of May.

No i wouldnt. Like he clearly said my intentions were genuine and matched. he was just concerned as to maybe i wanted Georgia cos their health system is a bit more relaxed than Floridas. I even asked if my using the term 'medical purpose' was the issue and he responded isnt childbirth a medical issue?
Travel / Re: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by captain90210(m): 1:25pm On Jan 31, 2018
You can enter the US with your visa, but to avoid a come back, inform the VO that your existing visa is about to expire, he/she would have to cancel this valid visa and issue a renewal alongside your daughter's visa.

Maadun:
I have a US valid visa that expires in June 8, 2018,im planning to travel in April for 2 weeks but I have a 2month old Daughter that I'm taking with me who does not have a visa which I'm planning to apply for her. Now,my question is that my visa validity might reduce to 2 month after taking her for an interview.Should I renew my visa also?would I be allow to enter with just 2month valid visa?
Properties / Re: Talk To Quantity Surveyors About Construction Costs And Project Developments by captain90210(m): 8:49am On Jan 30, 2018
There is an approved scale of fees for consultant in the build environment. But most clients hardly pay that amount, it just serves as a basis for negotiating your fees. If professionally you should be paid X, your client might decide to pay X-Y=Z amount t. It's usually a percentage of the total building cost also

Delval:
Good day, Kindly assist me with this request. I have a colleague as a quantity surveyor.

I need your advice on how a QS playing a consultant role between project owner and contractors should calculate his consultancy fee and negotiation tactics based on best practices. Should he bill by percentage in relation to the total cost of project? I know time-based billing does not work in Nigeria.

Looking forward to your response.

Many thanks.

Did it mean that IF you hadn't paid your hospital bills for Atlanta, you would have been sent back. And is it an issue if u declare Florida at Interview and decide to head to Atlanta eventually.

funkeadebz:
In the spirit of giving back....
I had my visa about a Year ago just after my wedding and I informed the VO i was traveling for both tourism and medical reasons. She dnt question further and visa was granted.

Travelled with Qatar airways in Nov. Was referred to port health. After her measurement she records 31weeks and i was actually 34wks and 6days however my bump wadnt so big.
Flight was uneventful, food not friendly too. Bought my ticket through ajala.com and was issued hotel vouchers for my layover at doha. Was treatef nicely by airline staff too.

Atlanta was my POE and final destination. The entry officer asked my purpose of vistit in the us and i replied childbirth. This was where my village people showedup. He referred me to secondary inspection. After waiting for what seemed like eternity i was called in. The officer reiterTed the fact that since i dexlared medical reasons earlier he was fine his only issue was i said florida... so y are u in atlanta. After much talk i finally mentioned i had paid my bills that was when he finally smiled amd said maam you should have said that since. He went ahead to see my receipts from doc and hosp and appointment confirmation letters and stamped me foe 6mths. He tried making a converdation abt y nigerians vandalise pipelines bt i wasnt interested in his gist so he kept quiet. He was nice enough to help wheel all my bags to agric cos i said i had dried bitter leaves with me. He stayed with me and saw me off to the exit door.

Hosp... 4325usd
Doc.....1500usd
Pead.....100usd inc vaccines
Nig passport was exp and gotten in abt 1week
Us passport was gotten in 48hrs(no exp)
3copies of BC was gotten 1week after birth for 35usd. However another copy was mailed to me weeks after.
SSN was gotten 5days after birth too.

Hosp staff were extremely friendly
Although my water broke at 38wks and stYed a whole day at the hosp b4 delivery i wasnt charged.

I also dnt use epidural and was refunded 425usd.

In all spent 10weeks and we sre back home. All thanks to God and every1 here who was generous with their info.

Lastly hosp was emory and doc was Dr tate

Apologies for your denial. It can be very painful knowing u posses and qualify for the visa in all ramification.

But what I feel the VO misunderstood is that the $2300 was for the entire medical expenses (doctor, tests and scan, hospital) which in my little experience here, is low for the entire expense. That was what raised his curiosity and maybe coupled with a bad day for him.

Omodadi2:
Good afternoon ppl.
I havve come to really rant here this afternoon as I personally feel that some cases of visa denial including mine are extreme wickedness. What exactly is the criteria to qualify for a US visa or renewal?

I got a B1/B2 visa purposely for birth which I used last year, paid my bills and came back. Went with my mum and my husband came to join us, he was there for 6weeks while we spent 11weeks.

Planned a vacation for December, discovered I was pregnant so cancelled vacation to accomodate childbirth for next year and we opted for dropbox due to our location but his visa was renewed while I was invited for follow up. And interview went thus today- Abuja

VO: Your passport please
Gave her passport
VO: where are you going to
Houston Texas
Are you going with your child
Yes
Does she have a visa already
She was born in the US and eligible to travel with her US visa, I gave birth to her in Houston last year.
VO: Can I have your medical receipts
Gave her all receipts and zero balance statements.
VO: Can u explain why you paid 2300usd for your medical services?
2300 ws the hospitals price for selfpay patient who are not eligible for insurrance and have to pay 1month ahead EDD.
VO: Read through the itemized bill and asked sme question again dding the fact that the main cost is around 23000usd.
I explained myself again. And added thefct that i made other payments for tests, doctor, baby, epodural etc to make a tota bill of about 7,000usd, all receipts in her hands, but she dint check at all.
VO:started typingandasked me where i work and how much I earn monthly
I work with a ....and earn 900,000 naira ( i am intentionally adding this here so u all can see more to my rant) monthly after all deductions.
VO: So you want to use 2300 to pay for health care when you earn 900,000 naira monthly? ( I was confused here cos we were only talking about what I have paid bt had to answer her)
Well, no amount of money is too much for good health if one can afford it and moreso we would also be giving that child the dual citizenship opportunity.
Vo continues to type, i had to say that I am also going again for childbirth thinking that she was granting me visa. She said she knows, we would discuss that. After few seconds, then she looked up and said you arnt eligible this time and gave me the white paper.

I would like our LagosNiv and others to comment on this case. I personally feel Iam eligilbe but wnt to know what exactly went wrong.

Applying again? may have to do this but its really a hard thing for me and my reason for ranting and infact confused. I reside in far north where to get flight to Abuja when you have ur money sef is wahala, i need to take at least 3days leave from office again to attend interview, lodge in a hotel, etc.

I just want to know if we have to opt for the insurance residents payment to be able to renew our visas.
