I had a dispense error case using my GTB ATM card on Access bank machine.. it took the bank 4days to reverse my money.. Anyway the urgency of the reversal was due to my been an ex-staff of GTB and I worked in the ATM department for years… u knw paddi paddi thing
Business / Re: How To Avoid/reduce Atm Dispense Error Scenario by chux4liv(m): 5:15pm On Jul 17, 2014
@Pavore.. Resolving dispense error cases for banks outside Nigeria takes longer time.. Even in Nigeria it take approx. 2 to 3 weeks for banks to reverse inter-bank dispense error .
Business / How To Avoid/reduce Atm Dispense Error Scenario by chux4liv(m): 4:41pm On Jul 17, 2014
I write to enlighten NL, the possible ways to reduce and handle ATM dispenser error problem encounter on our ATM machines. Sequel to an article I read on How to handle ATM dispense error, I felt there is need to share the info since it is my field of expertise cool cool...

A Typical ATM Dispense Error is a scenario where the machine debits (removes money from) your account without actually physically dispensing cash.

Many factors lead to this:
1. Link/communication problem between the machine and your bank account server, maybe via Interswitch,
2. Cash jam,
3. Physical machine fault, etc.
This can cause a lot of inconveniences, especially if not auto-reversed immediately.

HOW TO MINIMIZE ATM DISPENSE ERRORS

While ATM dispense errors are not 100% preventable, there are a few guides that can help you minimise the rate at which you get caught. As a card user,
1. Always use a bank's card on the same bank's machine, except if absolutely impossible
2. Always demand for your account balance first before demanding for withdrawal with the machine. This helps alert you of possible link problems.
3. Follow on-screen instructions well as these will guide you properly.
4. Do not withdraw bulky amount (e.g NGN 40,000 for ATM loaded with 500 Naira note) during a transaction,as there is high possibility of cash jam due to the poor quality of notes loaded in the ATM

If the machine does not auto reverse your money, here is what to do:

CASE 1: Your bank card on your bank's machine: This is the easiest to resolve as in most cases, gets auto-reversed within 24 hours. But if not auto-reversed, visit your bank and fill a Dispense error complaint form in which you shall give details of the failed transactions. This filled form is used locally by your bank to verify and reverse your money within 24 hours.

CASE 2: Your bank card on another bank's machine: This is not auto-reversed as often as the first case, but some people are lucky to get an auto-reversal. However, resolving this takes a longer period as it involves inter-bank communication. The last one I experienced took 2 months before I got my money back.
In this case too, you still visit your bank, not the ATM owner bank, to fill same form. The difference is just that in this case, the form/complaint cannot be handled locally. Your bank will have to forward this to the head office where the whole inter-bank communications will take place. Hence, takes longer time.

It is recommended that you follow up with calls if your complaint is not resolved in the shortest time.
So, the next time you have a dispense error, do not panic, just follow the due process, and there is 99.9% probability you will get your money back soon.

Romance / Re: After 3 Abortions, He Will Marry Another Lady This Month by chux4liv(m): 11:05am On Dec 27, 2013
Toks2008 has said it all, ladies if u want to date, date guys that're not in ur age bracket.. Date guys that are 7/8 yrs older than u becos all they are planing is how to settle. I'm not a kid and I had my first GF at age of 28. Mind u I cater for my siblings who are in University/ Poly, so taking care of children aint my problem. Ladies these days are always opting for abortion as alternative, why not keep the baby, I'm sure when the father come back to his senses he will come for his baby and apologise big time.

repogirl:

easy for you to tell them to keep it, you think that now makes you a good guy or what? Focus on protection so that there wnt be room for mistake. As if you understand the responsibility behind taking care of a kid, more so out of wedlock.
Romance / Re: After 3 Abortions, He Will Marry Another Lady This Month by chux4liv(m): 10:31am On Dec 27, 2013
WOMEN! WOMEN!! WOMEN !!!... When I was still a young lad, I had thought men suggested the idea of abortion, but alas it wasn't true. I have had an encounter with two of my ex. GF who outrightly suggested abortion when they had fear of missing period (when it was rather a delay). Even when I stood on my ground that we have the babies they couldnt stand the risk/shame of them having a baby out of wedlock. Thank God all was a test. Not a real pregnancy. My question is why women suggest the idea of abortion abi abortion mean nothing to them ?? (I fear women oooo)

finally the first names that umunede kingdom was called was ukpehoro kingdom and later it was changed to umunede , ukpehoro primary school is in umunede as a testimony and that is purely an edo name .

Agbotaen, thank you verrrrrry much for this clarification.

pazienza:

'' ...that does not mean that their origin is Igbo''

Who exactly are the Ibos you are refering to in this context? Why is it hard for you lots to realize that there is no group in the southeast that goes by the name ''Ibo''.

umunede could have originated from Owerri, Ngwa, Asa, Idemili, etc. But can't originate from Igbo, cause there is nowhere in south east called Ibo.
I concur with your clarification of Ibo/Igbo but I disagree with your last statement that they could have originated from Owerri, Ngwan, Idemilli When Its clearly cited as origininating from bini (You don't want agree they're bini origin. but want them to claim eastern origin??)

You just committed a gross fallacy. Don't be quick to ascribe the Ede meaning of Umunede to mean cocoyam in Igbo. The pronunciation of Ede in Umunede and Ede as in cocoyam are two different things. Ede(cocoyam) has falling tones and Ede in Umunede has mid and rising tones. The Ede in Umunede is the name of the founder, whoever it was, that founded Umunede community. Don't think that the name, Ede isn't peculiar to Edos only. Some communities in Nsukka bear Ede as community name or at times Edem.

Okay, I stand to be corrected. The Ede in contest is not referring to the Ede names in Nsukka but the founder of Umunede kingdom.

[@ some-girl]

[@ some-girl] Just out of curiousity....

I'm sure Bini has their own word for "children" and way of saying "children of" or "children who". Are there any Bini towns named in that format? i.e "children of......", "children who......" as is done in Igbo areas?
Also, Ede is a bini name and its also an Igbo word meaning cocoyam. So the Ede referred to by our founder is not a cocoyam but a name Ede as the case in some bini name OsamenEDE , EDEgbe etc the Ede could have been abbreviated just like anyone called Chukwu is nicknamed “Chuks”. The wife of Ede is IYE and Iye in bini means is princess or queen.

[@ some-girl] Well, Eze Chima/ Chime has been cited by several sources as having been the Bini founding father of Onitsha and some parts of Delta-Igbo. If this is true, then there you have your record of an Igbo man who fled Bini as "ch" sound is not found in Bini language or west of Bini.
Thank you, I haven’t heard the story of the so called |Eze chime, If he did exist I will do my research on him but I’m sure he is not the one that created Ika (Umunede).

Of all the children of Ede (Ilege, Edware, Oba and Ile) no one bears the “Chi” they are all bini name and I can beat my chest those four name (Ilege, Edware, Oba and Ile) forms the four clans/villages of Umunede. My dad is Oba descendant and my mum is Ilege.

The umunede (my opnion though) Umun is Igbo-word for children and Umunede is children of Ede. My puzzle (my opnion though) the name Umunede could have been attributed to them by the Ibo settlers, Just as Lagos was named by Portuguese slave trader. Nigeria got his name from British. So the Ibo settlers may want to refer to the Ede descendant as "Umun- Ede". There is a quarters we had for the Ibo settlers from west of Niger that was later name Obi, where the King later lived.

Conclusion: If you classify the Ika inhabitant as Igbo (which I’m not against since the British did the classification), that doesn’t mean their origin is Ibo. Eze chime origin is bini and we are not descendant of Eze chime but a prince-hood of bini.

INSET (Umunede Kingdom Epilogue): Available information also showed that it took some time before the kingship, as we know it today was fully established. When it was fully established, it took and Igbo title, Obi instead of Ovie or Onogie, which are the titles kings that descended directly from Benin. But, why Obi? Probably, the main reason was that in the course of centuries of living together and inter-ethnic marriages, each of the various groups living in that location started to lose its original ethnic identity, thus giving way to develop on Unumede language and culture- the language being very close to those of Ibos West of the Niger, while Unumede culture was predominantly that of Binis until the first assume that language of the dominant tribe in Umunede
Culture / Re: Delta Igbo, Bendel Igbo: What Does That Even Mean. by chux4liv(m): 9:19pm On Nov 30, 2013
Now we're discussing as intellect. What I meant was they only understand the igbo wordings but can not comprehend a full sentence of ika becos it contains some non-igbo words...As the case of London being a roman name and they being colonise by rome. It's a case of colonial territory. But record doesnt have it that umunede got colonised by bini rather it was formed by one of the prince of bini King called Ede and wife Iye. What ever u saw witten on the facebook link is exactly what we hv in our community doctrine (else I wont make it as reference) and it was passed from generation to generation.
We never disputed the record of Igbo pertaking in our community development and its influence in our culture. But we hv no record of them being the founders of Ika.
Igbodo and Ukwuani u speak off aren't Ika and so I can't speak for them. I know Igbos are migrate alot and they get to imbibe their culture were ever they settle.
Quest: was there any record of Igbos settling in bini kingdom in A.D if yes, then I can acclaim that Ikas are truly Igbos?
Culture / Re: Delta Igbo, Bendel Igbo: What Does That Even Mean. by chux4liv(m): 7:40am On Nov 30, 2013
tonychristopher:

IS FACEBOOK A CREDIBLE REFRENCE TO YOU, WHERE ANY IDIOT CAN POST ANYTHING. SO PLS SO HOW COME THE UMUNEDE BEAR IGBO NAMES AND SPEAK IGBO LANGUAGE AND FINALLY HAVE IGBO KINGS NAMES LIKE OBI, SO WHAT ARE WE DISTORTING HISTORY. I THINK THIS RESEARCH IS ALLEGORY AND A FABLE TO MY OWN UNDERSTANDING. HOW CAN YOU SAY UMUNEDE IS PREDOMINANTYLY BENIN YET SPEAK IGBO LANGUAGE. DONT YOU THINK THIS LACKS DEPT.I WILL BE INTERESTED TO KNOW THE IGBO LINK IN UMUNEDE.

First, I would hv loved to entertain an intellectual and more civilised arguement with you but you lost it all with your insulting words (I mean!on first contact, when I dont even know you from adam)
Secondly, if you'd acted more mature in your presenting reasons with fact without sounding abusive or dictating over other peoples write-up. I could give u listening ears
3. Its not about logic but a little common sense states it all. If the Igbo says the Ikas are their blood, let them trace the first set of decendant of Ika inhibitant who are Igbo origin.
4. If you want to classify the Ikas as Igbo ethnic group, there's no problem. We accept that based on colonial way of classifying ethnicity but we wont disown our origin (emanting from the bini kingdom)
4. The so called Benin kingdom have many languages, even right in their state who speaks different languages...... Ishan, akuku-edo, bini (language), auchi all being spoken in one territory. My question why the difference in language in a particular kingdom and yet they acclaim their origin of bini? Lastly, the name thing is a common phenonmenon occuring in present society. Our family name is bini but first name is Igbo, I know many Igbos of present age who are bears first name as English and u get to identify them by their family name. Even a friend of mine whose name is "Azuka Henry" from Nnewi who had to change his name to "Kenneth Henry" by adopting his father firstname. When I asked him he said his father wants them to bear his own name and not their grandfather. So tell me in generation to come if this my Henry friend has a son who is an half-cast who identify himself as an Nnewi man wont you people disown on first ground.

N.B I believe you are a graduate and you passed a course ... Use of English in university/poly/NCE. There is a topic that discuss about distortion of language (due to inherent mothers tongue and ability to communicate in different langauges). You'll always code-mix this languages and it will only be understood by someone who understands ur languages. E.g Pigin english is a distorted English language that can't be easily understood by an English man. This same thing happened to Ika languages it is a distorted bini language with Igbo words.
If I speak Ika lang. an Igbo man wont understand, though he will comprehend some one or two Ibo wordings in them (same is applicable to bini) I know thats why u Igbos call us fake-igbo.
