The king of oja piano and Nigeria's favorite celebrity musician, KCEE LIMPOPO MASTER, yesterday thrilled a mammoth crowd of hundreds of thousands of people in his home town Uli, Anambra State.
The occasion was the grand reception of the son of the soil, who was recently ordained a bishop of the Catholic Church, Bishop Thomas Obiatuegwu.
The occasion which attracted so many dignitaries including two executive governors of Anambra and Imo States also had in attendance captains of Industries, business moguls, religious bodies etc.
Prominent among them include, Dr. ABC ORJIAKO former MD of Seplat Energy, Chief Henry Okolieaboh, the MD of Westfield Subsea Ltd and a host of others too numerous to mention.
The new Bishop was enthralled at the warm reception and prayed for God's blessings upon the organizers, the Community, and the entire Nation. Our own music maestro KCEE LIMPOPO, had his own share of the blessings when he knelt down and got his own prayers from the new bishop.

The Nigerian Army has released the photos and names of seventeen soldiers that were killed in Delta State.
It could be recalled that these officers were said to have gone on a peace mission in the area.
Among them was their Commanding officer, a Colonel, two Majors, Captain and other ranks.

Monsignor Thomas Ifeanyichukwu Obiatuegwu appears to have a thing with the number 29.
A native of Uli in Ihiala LGA of Anambra State, the one time Chaplain of the USA Navy, was ordained a priest of the Catholic Church at the age of 29 years and he has ever since served Faithfully in the Lord's vineyard.

As if in recognition of his dedication and commitment,
His Holiness, Pope Francis has appointed him as the Auxiliary Bishop of Orlu Catholic Diocese, 29 years after his ordination as a priest.
Until his appointment, he was the Parish Priest of St Thomas Catholic Church Umunna Orlu.

He will be officially ordained on the 24th March 2024 at Orlu, Imo State. Meanwhile, his Town, Uli has planned a great reception for him which will hold on the 24th day of March 2024 at St Theresa's Catholic Church Uli.

Monsignor Obiatuegwu, has remained a man loved by his community, parishioners and whomever that encounters him.
His humility despite his chains of academic degrees has also remained unequaled.

In a bid to rid Anambra State of the wicked activities of touts and illegal revenue collectors, the Anambra State Governor, Prof Charlie Soludo has formed a firebrand team with the acronym UHBET.

The Unified Hybrid Enforcement Team (UHBET) is a team of hand-picked men of proven integrity. Among other things, they have been charged with the responsibility of making sure that government money gets into government coffers rather than individual pockets. Interestingly their job includes identifying and bringing to book, all illegal revenue collectors in the State. UHBET therefore, is the enforcement unit of the Anambra State Internal Revenue Service (AiRS) which boasts of a new Chief Executive Chairman ,
Ogbuefi Dr. Greg Ezeilo who has hit the ground running.
It is quite comforting that UHBET has already swung into action as they have already started recording Success.

August Harvey Martin (1919 - 1968) was reputed to be the first African American commercial pilot.

He died on June 30,1968 in a rainstorm at Uli Airport while flying in relief materials to Biafra. His wife, Gladys Frank Martin was reported to have also perished with him in the accident.
It may be recalled that Uli as a town bore most of pains of the Nigerian/ Biafran Civil War because of the presence of Biafra Airport. Still to recover from the rude shock of the war, the town has continued to suffer gross neglect from every passing government.

In far away Jamaica, there is a school named after him but there is nothing in the Eastern Region in remembrance of this great hero who lost his life while trying to save the lives of millions of people during the war.

In a post by the town's President General, Engr.Tob Obiagazie, " After due consultations with the Igwe, Igwe In-Council and major Stakeholders in the town, it was decided that town's Civic Center should be named after him ."
"Thus, the Uli Civic Center shall from today, 15/7/2023 be named, called and addressed as:
AUGUST HARVEY MARTIN CIVIC CENTER, ULI."
He further hinted on plans to erect the Statue of the said hero at the Civic Centre.
May his beautiful soul rest in peace.
