I have decided to share this because we cannot as a people continue criticize only our government officials who have disappointed us without appreciating those few who have chosen to be different by serving with all they have got to make a difference.
Situated along the beautiful and serene Airport Road, Suaka village Abuja, the Nigeria Immigration Service headquarters had before now been almost one obscure large expanse of land though with some beautiful buildings scattered here and there as if done in a hurry.
That however, was before the coming of the Service's present Comptroller General, Mohammed Babandede MFR, aka Mr Project. A visitor passing along that same road is instantly confronted with eye popping beauty of the edifices that seem to have sprung up over night.
Of particular interest are the Technology building which is almost completed and has been described as the "World in your finger tips". It is believed that the commissioning of this project will not only take synergy with all security Agencies to a level never imagined but will also bring other Security Agencies, the world over to just a button away.
As I write this post, the Service is having it's AWARD NIGHT right inside the new breathtaking Auditorium built by Mr Talk and Do, Mohammed Babandede MFR.
The CGIS, whose vision is to turn the Service to "A MODERN, EFFECTIVE AND EFFICIENT IMMIGRATION SERVICE MANNED BY WELL TRAINED AND MOTIVATED OFFICERS", seems to have sworn a secret oath to accomplish this.
Today, under his watch, the Service boasts of the New e-passport with ten years validity and linked to the National Identity Card and the holders BVN. Your guess is as good as mine, no more hiding place for criminals.
Already, the registration of all foreigners in the Country through the migrant e-registration is on. Another brain child of the digital CGIS.
This definitely is his most recent response to his VISION which is :

A Nigerian lady has been arrested for trying to force her way through the white house security in a bid to see the most powerful president in the world.

When quizzed, the husband, also a Nigerian claimed that his wife has no political affiliations but was merely a woman who needed help. He explained that the woman has been mentally ill and might have been trying to reach the President to save her from her imaginary tormentors who she assumed have been trying to kill her.

FORMER TEXAN ARRESTED FOR TRYING TO DRIVE ONTO WHITE HOUSE GROUNDS

Her ex-husband says she did not go there intending to harm President Trump. He says it is the result of mental illness.

WASHINGTON — A driver tried to get into the White House complex by following an official vehicle through an external checkpoint, The Secret Service says.

That driver, Joy Utokanandu, just moved from North Texas to Washington D.C., but her ex-husband says she did not go there intending to harm the president. He says it is the result of a mental illness.

The Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit of the D.C. Police Department and the Secret Service responded to the suspicious vehicle around 6 a.m. Thursday, after the driver tried to illegally gain entry to the White House complex.

The vehicle, later identified as Mercedes with Texas plates, was stopped and the individual was taken into custody by Secret Service, they confirmed.

“This is 100% mental illness, she has no political affiliation, no strong views about anybody. It’s a woman needs help, who is sick,” Jeffery Akharoh said.

Akharoh has two kids with Utokanandu. They moved from Nigeria together, and she became a nurse practitioner. They divorced in 2010, but she remained in the area until her move a few months back.

Akharoh said he is not surprised by the news out of D.C., because a few weeks back Secret Service showed up at his house asking for information about his ex-wife. She had been living in her car just blocks from the White House.

“It’s tough. It will be tough on any family. No father wants to see their children or their ex or their children’s mother go through this,” Akharoh said.

The Secret Service closed the surrounding roads Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest and 17th Street Northwest due to the security alert. The roads were also closed to pedestrian traffic, police said.

No Going Back On Border Closure – Immigration

Comptroller General of Immigration (CG), Mohammed Babandede, has declared that there is no going back on the border closure policy, stressing that it has yielded positive results as far as the security of the nation is concerned.

Babandede who stated this yesterday in Kano State said no responsible country wants to operate porous borders where contrabands, illegal immigrants, arms and ammunitions will be smuggled unchecked.

He said it is the responsibility of Immigration officials to ensure maximum security of the borders or else the nation will continue to battle with several insurmountable criminal activities.

“Last two weeks we were able to kill one foreign national, a Nigerien who refused to be searched and took to his heels when asked to come for screening while our boys apprehended the other and found incriminating things with him.

“These include pistols, laptops, handsets, among others on their way coming into Nigeria without any travelling documents.”

The Comptroller said in line with the new vigor the Command opened a patrol office in Katsina, Daura and many other places and posted 30 officials to each duty post. He noted that every officer will be expected to spend at least three months in the bush before he will be asked to relocate home while another takes over from him.

Babandede said everything has been provided for them at the duty post such as accormodation and night allowances in order for them to tackle whoever is coming into the country illegally.

While commenting on the ban on Rice importation by the Muhammadu Buhari-led government, he said no country with Nigeria’s economic potentials, both in human and material resources, would depend on any nation to survive in terms of food production.

“In fact, we have everything and it is a must that Nigeria must feed herself.” He said it is shameful that at the age of 58, a nation such Nigeria cannot continue to wait on other nation’s to feed her.

The comptroller of Immigration further declared that by January 2020, all illegal immigrants living in the country will be deported. He said foreigners without documents to prove their legitimate stay in the country will be shown the way out.

He added, “so far, about four million foreign nationals have registered their names with us and the exercise will be a continued process till January next year, and anybody who fail to act wisely will definitely be facing deportation.”

Babandede said measures were already put implaced to deal with any officer or group that is found conspiring with culprits to over stay their relevance in Nigeria. “We are going to imposed sanctions to check the exceses of our officials in this regard,” he assured.

On the recruitment of staff into the service, he urged Nigerians not to be fooled by some people who disguise as Immigration representatives to sell fake employment offers at exobitant charges.

“We are yet to start recruitment and whenever the time is ripe for that, we will make formal announcement and make available the procedures for prospective applicants to apply online for full participation of every Nigerian.

“In fact, we are in need of young officers as the old ones are fast retiring. We need to replace them with young and energetic men who can carry on from where the retirees stopped,” he said.

Babandede however assured that the immigration service enjoys good working relationship with other security agencies such as the Army, Police, Customs, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) adding, “the cooperation among us is yielding positive results daily.”

Meanwhile, border operatives of the Immigration Service has rounded up two Niger nationals in possession of pistol, computers and phones at Kongolam, Katsina State.

The Service in a statement by its Public Relations Officer (PRO), DCI James Sunday disclosed that the arrest of the aliens followed a swift operation intensified after the visit by the comptroller general of the Service, Muhammad Babandede and his Customs counterpart Col, (rtd) Hammeed Ibrahim Ali, to assess the level of cooperation, synergy and successes of the two outfits.

Babandede and his Customs counterpart had during their visits, enjoined the operatives in Katsina to keep the border safe in the spirit of national security.

According to the statement, the arrested culprits who attempted to open fire in a bid to evade arrest were overpowered by the operatives who shot one dead and apprehended the other one who provided information about their activities.

The statement further revealed that after due interrogation and profiling, the surviving criminal was handed over to the police for further necessary action.

It said the comptroller of the Katsina State command, Bin Umar, and his men have been commended by the CGI for the stride.

On his part, the comptroller general of the Service attributed the arrest to the border drill exercise, Operation Swift Response introduced by the Service to catch criminal elements and smugglers.

The statement warned border communities to desist from conniving and sabotaging government efforts at ensuring internal security.

Disaster ! Disaster !!!! Amansea Bridge on old road - Boundary Anambra and Enugu states
The Military and Police check points on Enugu and Anambra end at Amansea is causing terrible hold up along the old Enugu Awka road. The traffic on the road is heavy due to the 20years dilapidation of Enugu Onitsha Express way which currently ,some areas have been converted to corn and cassava farm. When there is holdup caused by Military Check point on Anambra , Police Check point on Enugu side of the Bridge it stretches on top of the bridge at Amansea.. On Monday 9th,I was ontop of the bridge in my car with articulated vehicles ( long tankers laden with fuel) waiting to be cleared on my way to Awka, when a long heavy Leyland trailer laden fuel heading towards Enugu drove unto the bridge. The whole brigde started vibrating,I jumped down from my vehicle not minding the heavy rain until the vehicle crossed.The volume of water in river has increased and the brigde constructed after the civil war in I970 was not constructed to withstand heavy load on it. A great disaster is looming because the bridge may collapse if vehicles continue to stop on it due to security check points on both sides. For safety of Nigerians,I suggest all security check points close to the brigde should be dismantled. There should be no security check point less than 2kilomers to the bridge.
Security men protecting the bridge or others within the Nation should never block the road.They should just sit by the side and ensure free movement on the bridge.
The Ministry of works should commence urgent structural test on the bridge and also ensure that pot holes close to the brigde that also contribute to the hold up onto of the bridge are repaired. Why not do your investigation like FBI before arresting and parading her? If her offense is simply a case of malfeseance or negligence; not having the appropriate license from SEC to raise and invest public funds, does that warrant this? NIS decorates 4 new Deputy Comptroller Generals (DCGs); Perm Sec Interior Ministry Commends Improved Service Delivery by NIS.

The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) on Friday decorated four new Deputy Comptrollers General of Immigration with the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Interior, Barr Georgina Ekeoma Ehuriah commending the NIS for the improvement in the quality of service delivery of the agency.

Barr Ehuriah the performance of the NIS has witnessed a quantum leap not only in service delivery but also in the area of revenue generation for the country noting the under the leadership of Comptroller Muhammad Babandede, the service has taken full advantages of ICT and other new technologies to achieve better performance of its mandate.

She however cautioned officers and men of the NIS to improve on the inter personal relationship of its clientele particularly Nigerians and foreigners alike saying, “It is important how you treat individuals you come in contact with because acceptance and impression matters and since actions of the immigration officer could be interpreted to represent Nigerian’s way of life.

Mrs Ehuriah warned personnel of the service to beware of mischief makers waiting to latch on the perceived shortcomings of government agencies as a result of laxity in the performance of their duties.

She urged the newly promoted DCGs to show extra commitment to the service and the nation because as the saying goes, ‘to whom much is given, much is expected.

The new Deputy Comptrollers of Immigration are DCG (Mrs) Chizoba Adaeze Dibi, DCG Julius Adadu Ogbu, DCG Uebari Saro John and DCG Idris Isah Jere.

Speaking at the occasion, the Comptroller General of Immigration, CGI Muhammad Babandede disclosed that the recent incident that occurred in the United Kingdom, where a Nigerian destroyed cars and other assets of the Nigerian Embassy because of passport issues was unfortunate noting that processing of passports was now easier with several technologies put in place.

While noting that the passport of the Nigerian had been processed and was ready for over a month, the CGI said it was not the fault of immigration that he forgot his collection slip and other departments of the embassy had issues to clarify.

He however noted that the Nigerian collected his passport on Wednesday July 3, 2019.

Recalling that the journey to the promotion of the senior officers started last year after the conduct of competency assessment and due diligence carried out on each of the officers.

“Mr. President, by the powers conferred in him, found them worthy and in his magnanimity approved their appointment to the consolidated grade of DCGIS”

Babandede added, “This promotion has elevated you to the top management position of our great service and it is my prayer that it will spur you to further rededicating yourself to contributing objectively to decisions that will have positive impact on the continued development of the NIS and the nation as a whole”.

“Your appointment to the top management of the service therefore, will require you to contribute with innovative and dynamic ideas to achieving the statutory mandate of the service. With this elevation, your coordination, perspective and focus must be service centered towards national service that is non-partisan in line with patriotic and nationalistic ideas.”

The Katsina State Police Command has arrested a Divisional Police Officer (DPO) attached to Mashi Local Government, Mr Garba Talawai, and his girlfriend, Sadiyya Alhaji Danyaya, over the death of their 16-year-old housemaid.

The command said this in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isah, and made available to newsmen on Saturday in Katsina.

The statement read: “A councillor in Mashi Local Government Area, Abubakar Haruna, reported to the DPO Garba Talawai that a corpse was seen at a bush path in Mashi.

“The DPO and his team went to the place and evacuated the corpse which was deposited at Mashi Primary Healthcare Centre.

“Later, the corpse was identified as that of Rabi Abdullahi, 16, a housemaid to one Sadiyya Alhaji Danyaya, a girlfriend of the DPO.

“Some health personnel on duty also identified the corpse as having being brought previous day to the health facility by the DPO and another policeman where it was confirmed death in Toyota Carina II, red in colour, identified as the car of the DPO.”

“Investigations indicated that the said Sadiyya reported to the DPO that the teenage girl was missing two days ago after she rebuked her for carrying unwanted pregnancy and sleeping outside the house.

“Preliminary investigations indicted the DPO for concealment of facts on the possible cause of death of the deceased.”

The PPRO further said that the commissioner of police has already directed for a thorough, meticulous and comprehensive investigation on the matter.

He added that both the DPO and his girlfriend were helping detectives to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of the deceased.

He said that another DPO has already been posted to the area as his replacement.

“The commissioner of police, Sanusi Buba, assures the parents of the deceased and the public that the command will not leave any stone unturned until justice is done in the matter,” he added.

His majesty Eze Prof. Chukwuemeka Ike, Ugwu Aro, OFR, NNOM, Ikelionwu X1. Eze Ndikelionwu, a writer of note and author SUNSET AT DAWN, THE BOTTLED LEOPARD and many other novels is the traditional ruler of Ndikelionwu community in Orumba North Local government area of Anambra State. He is now 88 years old and married to Ugoeze Prof. Adebimpe Ike who will turn 86 years on June 29, 2019.

They had an only child Prince Ositadinma Nnanyelugo Olusaya Adeolu Ike (hereinafter referred to as Prince Osita). Prince Osita who died on December 16, 2016 was married to Princess Osarunwense Eghosa Ike (daughter of chief Prof. Emmanuel U. Emovon, CON, FAS, KSP, JP Obayagbona of Benin Kingdom.

The marriage between Prince Osita and Princess Osaru was blessed with the birth of Prince Chukwuemeka Osaretin Ayoade Ike(hereinafter referred to as the Chukwuemeka Ike II) who was born on January 23, 1998. He is now 21 years old.

In the course of our long-standing relationship and friendship with Prof Ike family, it came to our notice that there is a sorrowful and heartbreaking situation which is silently and gradually tearing Prof Ike family and eating them up and thereby dragging them even nearer to their graves. Chukwuemeka Ike II is the only surviving offspring of the Prof. Ike family and they have not seen him or heard from him since he was 11 years.

From the information available to us, the marriage between Prince Osita and Princess Osaru didn't go well and they were in the middle of divorce proceedings when Prince Osita sadly died in 2016. Even before the commencent of the divorce proceedings, chukwuemeka Ike II has been taken away to a place unknown to Ike family to which they didn't and still do not have access. The worst part of the situation is that Ike family do not have any information regarding the whereabouts of Chukwuemeka Ike II despite all the efforts they had made for several years requesting access and or information from Prof Emovon Family.

The grandparents of Chukwuemeka Ike II are both over 86years and gradually but painfully nearing their graves in the knowledge that they have a 21 year old grandson_ the heir apparent to the Ndikelionwu throne and only surviving offspring of Prof Ike family who they do not have access to. This is the unfortunate and sad situation we have on our hands for which reason we raise the following issues/questions to wit:
1, Are the Prof Ike family entitled to access to Chukwuemeka Ike II?
2, Are the Prof Ike family entitled to information regarding the whereabouts of Chukwuemeka Ike II?
3, Is it fair and just to deny and continue to deny Prof Ike family access and contact to Chukwuemeka Ike II?
4, Having attained the age of 21 years, is it fair and just to deprive and continue to deprive Chukwuemeka Ike II of the love, care and access to his paternal grandparents?

It is in search of the above issues/questions that we passionately appeal to the conscience of the general public and well-meaning Nigerians to bring it to bear on Prof. Emovon particularly Princess Osaru to bring this painful and tortuous episode to an end. In making this appeal, we state that the sole purpose of this exponsure is not only to let Prof Ike family to know the whereabouts of their grandson- Chukwuemeka Ike II but also to have access to him. This will bring joy and happiness to their lives again so that even when to they are dying, they will die a happy death. Also in making this appeal, we state that we are not oblivious of the fact that both families may have made some mistakes in doing what they ought not to have done and in saying what they ought not to have said. We are not ready to apportion blames. All we seek is that this matter comes to an end.

EZE PROFESSOR CHUKWUEMEKA IKE HEARTBREAKINGLY IN SEARCH FOR HIS ONLY GRANDSON AND ONLY SURVIVING OFFSPRING.

His majesty Eze Prof. Chukwuemeka Ike, Ugwu Aro, OFR, NNOM, Ikelionwu X1. Eze Ndikelionwu, a writer of note and author SUNSET AT DAWN, THE BOTTLED LEOPARD and many other novels is the traditional ruler of Ndikelionwu community in Orumba North Local government area of Anambra State. He is now 88 years old and married to Ugoeze Prof. Adebimpe Ike who will turn 86 years on June 29, 2019.

They had an only child Prince Ositadinma Nnanyelugo Olusaya Adeolu Ike (hereinafter referred to as Prince Osita). Prince Osita who died on December 16, 2016 was married to Princess Osarunwense Eghosa Ike (daughter of chief Prof. Emmanuel U. Emovon, CON, FAS, KSP, JP Obayagbona of Benin Kingdom.

The marriage between Prince Osita and Princess Osaru was blessed with the birth of Prince Chukwuemeka Osaretin Ayoade Ike(hereinafter referred to as the Chukwuemeka Ike II) who was born on January 23, 1998. He is now 21 years old.

In the course of our long-standing relationship and friendship with Prof Ike family, it came to our notice that there is a sorrowful and heartbreaking situation which is silently and gradually tearing Prof Ike family and eating them up and thereby dragging them even nearer to their graves. Chukwuemeka Ike II is the only surviving offspring of the Prof. Ike family and they have not seen him or heard from him since he was 11 years.

From the information available to us, the marriage between Prince Osita and Princess Osaru didn't go well and they were in the middle of divorce proceedings when Prince Osita sadly died in 2016. Even before the commencent of the divorce proceedings, chukwuemeka Ike II has been taken away to a place unknown to Ike family to which they didn't and still do not have access. The worst part of the situation is that Ike family do not have any information regarding the whereabouts of Chukwuemeka Ike II despite all the efforts they had made for several years requesting access and or information from Prof Emovon Family.

The grandparents of Chukwuemeka Ike II are both over 86years and gradually but painfully nearing their graves in the knowledge that they have a 21 year old grandson_ the heir apparent to the Ndikelionwu throne and only surviving offspring of Prof Ike family who they do not have access to. This is the unfortunate and sad situation we have on our hands for which reason we raise the following issues/questions to wit:
1, Are the Prof Ike family entitled to access to Chukwuemeka Ike II?
2, Are the Prof Ike family entitled to information regarding the whereabouts of Chukwuemeka Ike II?
3, Is it fair and just to deny and continue to deny Prof Ike family access and contact to Chukwuemeka Ike II?
4, Having attained the age of 21 years, is it fair and just to deprive and continue to deprive Chukwuemeka Ike II of the love, care and access to his paternal grandparents?

It is in search of the above issues/questions that we passionately appeal to the conscience of the general public and well-meaning Nigerians to bring it to bear on Prof. Emovon particularly Princess Osaru to bring this painful and tortuous episode to an end. In making this appeal, we state that the sole purpose of this exponsure is not only to let Prof Ike family to know the whereabouts of their grandson- Chukwuemeka Ike II but also to have access to him. This will bring joy and happiness to their lives again so that even when to they are dying, they will die a happy death. Also in making this appeal, we state that we are not oblivious of the fact that both families may have made some mistakes in doing what they ought not to have done and in saying what they ought not to have said. We are not ready to apportion blames. All we seek is that this matter comes to an end.
