We have the worst happening in our backyard.
One hundred and forty something slain down by BH last week. How about those ones, people? Is the BH menace dulling our senses to a point of numbness and insensitivity? Our leaders are busy fighting over positions, money and offices while families, somebody' s wife, husband, children, brothers, sisters are getting killed. High time these killings ended please. Thanks

Glad that the situation is under control, CNN reporting that few hostage takers are still in the mall today (day 4 of the siege).
Hope it ends soon and well.

@Pendo
Good to see you finally exhaling.

The person asked u what you can do? Don't dull, u never know who can help u. Think about the question very well and give a smart answer. What field are you in now? What do u hope to be in future. There are skills you can learn and succeed in. It mustn't be a degree from our Nigerian ASUU strike ridden universities. Wishing you success, may those dreams of yours come true after all.

It can be very frustrating to have ones dream of getting a university certificate (to earn a living with) stalled by ASUU strike. It leaves one stagnant, real frustrating!
Poster I will advise that u don't fold your hands in lamentation. Just go into the street and hustle while waiting for the strike to be called off. Look for a job or develop a skill. You can succeed without a certificate, many millionaires in Nigeria did not attend universities. Determine to succeed, go out there and succeed just don't hurt anybody while u are it.

smh.
this fool is still tweeting

I saw the tweets.
Hey You! kiss

The tweets have lost momentum, it's like whoever is tweeting that has realized that the battle is ending. It's sounding melancholic now.
One of the tweets said something like "It is when you act that the world notices you" Lol.
Can you imagine grown men seeking the attention of the world by terrorizing people----what complex can we term that?

mondi_cheeks: the whole point of doing that is to user lesser space, which would be much cheaper undecided

Safety should be a priority when building a mall.

onila: westgate mall-nairobi

I don't think that it's safe to make a shopping mall be more than a storey building. A two storey building like this westgate is not safe as a shopping mall. They can elongate it in length. Packing shops on top of shops in endless storey building in a mall is not the best when countering such things as fire outbreak or even this kind of horrorful attack. The way that building is structured will make things harder for the Kenyan soldiers.
Politics / Re: Kenya Mall Under Attack From Islamic Terrorists (Pictures) by Ivynwa(f): 5:01am On Sep 23, 2013
CNN reporting that Kenyan soldiers have taken over most of the mall, more deaths reported in the advancement---most of the persons taken in hostages freed about 10 persons still held down.
High time the stand off ended.

africa-down:

you should get on your knees and pray for the dead somalis who die at the hands of the African union and kenyan soldiers who are killed inside somalia.

You should pray kenya leaves somalia and somali internal affairs to somalis.

i am not surprised this happened, the same thing happened in uganda in 2010, and ethiopia.

kenya is too greedy and wants our resources. Kenya needs to leave somalia

I understand how you feel but if there was no war, African union including Kenyan soldiers wouldn't have come to make peace in your country Somali so you guys should stay peacefully and stop warring. Let's all love ourselves in this our Africa please. Do have a good night, okay?

pendo89: El shabab in an interview with aljazeera- When asked what they'll do with the hostages he says they will not surrender and they will not negotiate!!

Attackers killed a few hostages and threw their body parts outside after helicopters landed on the roof.

All somali refugees must go back to somalia! We are fed up with hosting evil. They can slaughter themselves to death if they so wish and leave peaceful nations to progress.

Mtaona cha mtema kuni haki! NKTEEST! You will all go to hell with bloody hands.

Pendo friend, what is happening in your country is real distressing. I have gone on my knees to pray that the lives of the hostages be spared. One can't know the full weight of this until you read about such stuffs like the dead chinese woman and her wounded son. Dead Kofi Awoonor and his wounded son and you will wonder how the wounded ones are feeling wounded and bereaved, the sorrows in the hearts of families that lost their loved ones and the fear in hearts for the lives held hostages. It's terrible indeed.

pendo89:
Very wrong. You can best describe the kenya if you live here. The country is a mixture of many races living here as citizens.
Whatever the case, when terror strikes, race takes a backseat. It's vain and foolish to discuss colour during such times.
It's even more silly to rubbish the efforts made by the trained security guys doing their level best in such a hostile environment.
If one thinks they can do better let them join the forces.I am sure they will not leave camp due to cowardice.

I am truly impressed by the bravery of the Kenyan forces, girl it's not easy to be bold enough to advance into the hands of terrorist who have no respect for their lives much more that of others. Hoping that the stand-off ends soon with no loss of lives.

Scun: Don't delude yourself, the terrorist we see today, were once moderate muslims. Even as I post this, more muslims are being radicalised. The religion needs to be purged entirely.

How do you intend to do the p*rging?
Killing people, Methinks that some thing went wrong somewhere in the teachings passed on to the ones that believe in killings and that is where it all emanated from. The good muslims that are frowning on these killings should make checks and know where things went wrong in what people are being taught to believe.

CAMEROONPRIDE: your brethren are being slaughtered all over the world , and all u care about is how some potential terrorists feel behind their computer? smh . ANYWAY keep showing the other cheek u seem to enjoy that .. in fact I think u are into SDM

grin
You are real funny boy.
Yeah I can't help caring about how my fellow humans feel, the other muslims that don't believe in killing christians should not be bullied. Thanks.

CAMEROONPRIDE: speaking the truth and calling out the evil religion can't b considered as bullying . we are actually witnessing the result of your political correctness . let's call a spade a spade for once .

It is okay to speak up against the wickedness being spread by the bigots but others that have nothing to do with it shouldn't be bullied in the process.

I am wondering what website or organisation has a better coverage of the whatever negotiation that is going on between the kenyan govt and the group holding people as hostages in the mall. I am not seeing their communication.

There is a need for people not to bully other muslims that are not part of this. Cyberbullying is a serious issue and we need to take it serious here. We shouldn't tell others things that may affect them seriously to a point that some harm themselves.

It is very bad that these set of muslims believe in killing others but it isn't all muslims that believe in that and when there is an outrage here with muslims being called names and abused, it may be making these other ones feel terrible and unhappy. Our world seriously needs a solution for a change of heart and rethink on people blinded by ignorance to the point of killing people who don't agree with their religious beliefs/who do not know the name of the mother of who they believe in as it was reported.

Ignorance and bigotry is the problem we all face and need solution to, bullying others that do not hold these "let's kill all the christians" ideals isn't helping us one bit. It only increases unhappiness and religious conflict around us thus taking away the remnants of our peace. We need peace, enlightenment, re-education and the unlearning of such violent beliefs to stop all these killing.

Nne I no fit follow them they call their name all over the place and make their heads het up.
The twitter handle is HSM_PRESS OFFICE. Seems like the twitter company is closing their accounts and they are opening new ones. I am not sure whether twitter has just closed this new handle of theirs again or not. They seem to be demanding for Kenyatta to withdraw his troup from Somali.

Omo you need to see what this group are tweeting on twitter right now.

The tweets said that 150 hostages are still being held inside the mall and that the group just shot/killed 5 kenyan police men and that they have executed Kenyatta's family member that was at westgate.

Lord!
This can happen to anybody.
I was at a mall today and if some humans somewhere are filled with hatred enough to decide to storm that mall, any body that was unfortunate to walk in their path can get shot. Our world is degrading into something else, the shootings in the US this year have even thought me to be alert whenever I am in such public places as a mall and thought of the possibility of an occurrence like this did pass through my mind while I was in that mall today. Seriously.

May God keep protecting us o-o, sending my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved and the affected ones. Mtscheeew. Abeg make i leave this thread, some of the pictures had me holding my stomach.
