I seem not to understand why people need to subject themselves and family to such an emotional drenching journey called assylum seeking when you could as well have written and pass your ielts, do your eca and land as a permanent resident within a year. Being a former international student, I feel this express entry route is even faster and better than having to school if you have the right profile. But it's a shame our people always want the easy way out. I know Nigerian asylum seekers here that get free clothings, free food stuffs, all to start selling and sending some for sale back to Nigeria by hook and crook where they are supposedly persecuted. I have meet people who have been on this case for over 7 years, living in fears, and still without a status in canada. When I meet some of them they without reservations always say that they would never advise anyone to seek asylum in Canada for any reason because of their experience. Unfortunately when you tell our brothers and sisters the truth about this refugee seeking of a thing, and you advise them to do things the right way because of the uncertainties and more importantly because should your claims be refused, you will make things difficult for your siblings, and children should they decide to travel in the future. But when you tell them the truth, they always feel you do not want them to be successful. Even if you get lucky like a very few ,and you get approved, the battle is not still over. I have read about cases of asylum claimants who were later granted PR who travelled to their country of origin and had their PR status revoked and they got deported. I heard Nigerian asylum seekers who had business in Nigeria, usually enter Nigeria via Ghana or Cameroon. Recently, I heard Canadian government already knows about that too. A friend who lives in Canada recently told me that last week in her Nigerian church, a note of warning was sounded to nigerian ex-refugees who are already citizens in Canada to avoid travelling to Nigeria for now as government may be doing some reviews and assessments of past cases. It's not just worth the stress. There are many legal ways to migrate to canada and live as a PR. There are several programs for people with low ielts score . All you need to do is find information and do things right. 26 Likes 7 Shares |
Education / Re: Which Of These Courses Should She Choose? by Jengbetiele: 2:41pm On Nov 26, 2019 |
Let your cousin go for mathematics. With that course, the sky is the limit. All she needs to do is pick up programming along the line. She could work across multiple domain as a data analyst, data scientist, machine learning engineer, software engineer, computer programmer, programmer analyst etc. With a background in mathematics, she would easily be considered for a masters in computer science and related fields after bachelors degree. If your cousin decides to travel at some point, there will be no need to go back to school or take some conversion courses because mathematics is mathematics everywhere. |

Very simple just tell him or her in pidgin "guy I dey travel in 3 days time and I wan hol my key" . This was how someone evicted me from his house few years back when I overstayed my welcome. I was like really and he said yes. I started looking for a room immediately . I can never forget that encounter. 4 Likes |
Travel / Re: Is There An Order From US Authorities To Deny Nigerians Visas? by Jengbetiele: 11:30am On Aug 04, 2018 |
One issue that made the headlines recently is the influx of nigerian refugees to Canada via US. They apply for US visit visa or student visa, fly to US and stay there for couple of months, and then go to the nearest Canadian border on a mission to be admitted into Canada as refugee after narrating some cock and bull stories. The Canadian government noticed this and consequently had meetings with US government officials to ensure that visa issued to Nigerians are scrutinized appropriately in a bid to curtail this act. After the meeting, even visas that have been already issued got cancelled and may nigerians got turned back from POE. A colleague at work recently asked me if there is a serious war going on in Nigeria because every Nigerian he has meet recently are either filing for refugee status or are already refugees. I guess this may be part reasons for the recent alarming rate of refusal as well. 3 Likes |

Learn data structure and algorithms. With a good background here, it will be easier to catch up on multiple languages and the sky will be your spring board. Cheers. |
Career / Re: How To Get Sacked From Your Workplace? by Jengbetiele: 6:36pm On Jun 12, 2018 |
If after reasonably talking to your boss and he refused to understand, take the following steps. 1.Day 1: Whenever you see him coming close to your desk, place one of your legs on your desk and quickly switch the screen to computer games. 2. Day 2: Go to work half drunk and half awake and let it be so glaring that you are really drunk. 3. Day 3: open all chats and keep chatting most of the day. Open your Facebook account and keep chatting. 4. Day 4. Intentionally call in sick 5. Day 5. Intentionally get to work very late Your boss will fire you before day 5. 16 Likes |
