Education / India Polytechnics Better Than Nigeria Polytechnics? by manosteel(m): 7:12am On May 16, 2017
A Nairalander doing my own thing in India, I was perplexed to find out that every dick and Tom I meet in the street of India is either having B.Tech, M.Tech, B.E, M.E, Etc. I shudder to think; is that how much they go to school here? When I asked from which school? The common response is Xyz College or xyz polytechnic. This is not surprise though, the attached advert photo as seen in one of the streets is common sight in India, there is a crazy rush for graduate Degree. Do not be deceived, some of the institutions awarding B.Tech/M.Tech are not bigger or better equipped than what we have in Nigeria, in fact some are hosted in few blocks apartment with lecturers just as highly educated as ours.
The world becoming a global community as we know it, where Nigeria HND graduates chase the same International Job opportunities as well as the Indian Folks but the guy with B.Tech from India is looked favourably to get the Job despite that both individuals graduated from polytechnic. Little wonder India is now regarded as a Nation with young educated population and they have become cheap manpower recruiting hub for International organizations from IT, Engineering, Medicine to Management.
The Nigeria Policy of not accrediting Polytechnics to run these programs is retrogressive in nature instead of progressive.
From global labour market stand point, it is as though HND is becoming outdated just like its big brother HNC. It is high time the Policy makers had a rethink on this Policy and make their Citizens much more competitive in International Job market.

When you continually call your president 'idiot', I don't see how that makes you feel much better because he is still ruling over you. We should pray for our leaders.

Kachikwu was actually promoted

The GMD reports to the chairman
On point. GMD is like a CEO, he is responsible for day to day running of the business, making profit and reporting to the Chairman/Board of Directors. Now the fact is, Kachikwu as the Minister of state for Petroleum which is executive position, combining this two portfolios, the work load will be terrible heavy.

Rest in peace angry angry angry

Google is your friend. Nigeria is struggling to produce 4000MWH of electricity, Oman Electricity generation stands at 8GWH in the average, more than enough to supply uninterrupted power supply to Nigeria, Ghana and Cameroun put together. Yet a country of less than 4M in population.
Crime / Re: Photo Of Nigerian Woman Murdered In Oman by manosteel(m): 10:32am On Jul 06, 2016
Oman is a beautiful, Small, Oil rich country in the mid-East. Crime rate is extremely low, so stories like this are very rare. No one knows what transpired for sure, unfortunately Nigeria has no Embassy in Oman, though the Embassy of Nigeria in Saudi and UAE are overseeing Nigerians in Oman.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: How Do I Dress For An Engineering Job Interview? by manosteel(m): 10:19am On Mar 04, 2016
As for me, do not wear suit. Just wear nice trousers with long sleeve shirt and Tie, it makes you look intelligent and smart. Most importantly, you need to know the nature of the job, site based or office based, this will also help you to decide on the mode of dressing. Good luck.

Talking about greatest kings that ply this Earth, kings that ruler Nations, King Solomon, King David, King Cyrus, King Nebuchadnezzar etc, these Kings acknowledged the power of the almighty. Is Your Ooni greater than any of these? He knew He needs the real God, not one tiny god in calabash or small hut.

In the last one week, you've lost practically human lives, properties and income. While you were doing your madness, the rest of Nigeria was just moving on like nothing was happening, just like during the civil war, nobody was affected except you inconsequential and non-important people.
Nigerians are amused now that you've decided to do what you should have done before going on your madness show of shame.
Why are you people like this? Why is is deep and retrospecting thinking alien in your actions and though patterns.
With the way you acts, it will be easier for any tribe in Nigeria to secede out of Nigeria than Igbos.
Bunch of unthinking fellows.
Your hatred towards the Igbo Nation is factory fitted and there is nothing anybody can do about it. So my advice is for you and your post to be ignored.
