Politics / Re: Who Suffers If Nigeria Divides? by na2day(m): 5:16pm On Jun 01, 2013 |
SmartTalk: Hey smart talk Since you are comparing the Sikhs to the Igbo , are you aware of what happened to the Sikhs in 1984? Some Sikhs body guards assassinated Indira Ghandi , the India prime minister and about 25,000 Sikhs (men, women and children) were raped and massacred. Compared that to the Nzeogwu's coup and the subsequent murder of innocent Igbos. Yet we never heard of the Sikhs running to secede, declaring a nation. They are still part and parcel of India till date! There is no country without its attendant problems, India has been having a worse kind of ethnic intolerance and progroms till the present time, but balkanisation was never an option for them Please let's find a solution to our problems and stop this hatred, this madness! Ok! Lest I forget, India never allowed Pakistan to leave, it was partioned just before independence at the insistence of Jinnah by the British (the wahala those people have caused)! And they have been at war ever since! |

I'm amazed at the level of ethnic hatred going on in Nigeria. If nairaland is the pulse of the nation, then I'm afraid all hope is lost! Can't we all work together without one section trying to pull the other down? Or dominate the other? India has about 28 states and 400 languages and they are all working together to make the country an Asian power house . How many are we, that we feel, our state will be better after separation? Wake up guys, changing our looters will not change the country, what will is abandoning this kind of hatred and mentality, building structures that will inhibit bad leadership and calling all our leaders to account! |

Any group of people that hides under the veil of ethnicity and religion to chose their leaders instead of competence are doomed! Religion or tribe is inconsequential so far, the development that people wants to see is apparent! I'd rather make sheik makthoum, the sheik of Dubai the president of Nigeria, if he will make Nigeria like Dubai (FYI, many of our brothers, especially from the east are there hustling and they are not complaining about the religion), rather than Good luck Jonathan whose destiny is to make Nigeria , another somalia My point is this: religion and ethnicity does not matter, in as much as the development we crave is there for all to see ! 22 Likes |

You all can see, what progressive countries do to scandals! The other day, our dear president was in Australia, I think, and there was a case of a groping of an hotel worker by a member of the contingent (I suspect our dear president himself), up till now, nothing has been done to bring the culprit to book! Now tell me, how can we be taken seriously? How? |

According to Alien astronaut theory, this is nothing but a demonstration of an assistance from our neighbours from a distant galaxy. They were the same visitors that helped the Israelis in the bible to negate the overwhelming horde of enemies with a few number of men. They render conventional weapons obsolete and just like a fellow alien astronaut theorist mentioned above, they empower their devotees with alien technology, with fantastic capabilities, they ensconce their worshippers in a force field that ricochet bullets back to sender. Foreign Affairs / Why Are People Applying To Go To Mars And Never Come Back? by na2day(m): 4:59am On May 10, 2013 |
Over the past two-plus weeks, more than 78,000 people around the world have applied to be the first people to settle on Mars. One-minute videos with people explaining why they want to go and why they should be chosen to go have come from more than 120 countries, though the majority have come from the United States and China. Ultimately, 24-40 people will be chosen by the nonprofit Mars One and begin training in 2015. After seven years of training four of these people will hypothetically leave Earth to be space pioneers, settling on Mars. Every two years after that, four more will follow. Here are some of the applicants explaining why they want to be part of the first mission to Mars. Katrina, 24, United States "I'm an adventurer, an explorer, and I grew up in a sci-fi living household, so I've always dreamed of being an astronaut and being able to explore new planets. I want to go to Mars so I can learn so many amazing things, and share it with Earth to help inspire people to want to continue exploring space and push the boundaries of human knowledge, and what we can achieve. Eric, 36, China "Why I want to go to Mars? Because there is an end for the Earth, and human beings need a new place to survive. If I go to Mars, I survive." Francisco, 32, born in Argentina, living in Mexico. "The idea of space traveling and discovering new places is fascinating. I'm a candidate because I'm a very courageous guy, I'm quick to learn. I love teamwork, and it's important for humans to be able to co-exist in Mars." Anders,51, Sweden. "I often fantasize to just get on board a spaceship and go, to explore the universe. I often get the feeling that I don't belong here, but up there, in space." Ilona, 23, Finland "I want to devote my life to knowledge, humanities, and science. I want to contribute to the greater good of humanity, and to tackle scientific discovery, with the itch to seek and to preserve information as my motivator." Richard, 60, United States "I'd like to go to Mars because I think it's the explorer's golden ring for the next 25-30 years, and I would like to be a part of that experience." Paul, 40, Australia "Why would I leave Earth to go live on another planet, never to return? Birds eating in the forest; beautiful sunset; walking on the beach, warm sand beneath your toes. A thousand experiences I will never have again. I believe that in order to be OK with leaving all that forever, you need to love and cherish all those things and be OK to go anyway, because not going would be the real tragedy." Marc, 18, United States "I want to be part of this mission to carry on an ancient human tradition, and that is to explore and to expand our species. I essentially want to serve humanity by becoming part of the next generation of pioneers of knowledge. And a colonization of another planet is the biggest step that humanity has ever taken in that direction, and I want to be part of that." Vinod, 30, India I believe that the purpose of humankind is to reach every corner of the universe, to know the truth of our existence, why we are here, who created us, Mars One is a small step toward reaching to the answer, and I want to contribute in this." Ariel, 27, from China and living in the United States "Why wouldn't I like to go to Mars? I have been dreaming of a moment like this my entire life. Who wouldn't want to go into space? Space is awesome, and it would be amazing if I could live on Mars." Andrew, 34, Canada "I work extremely well with others [as seen in earning the title "Canada's Greatest Know-it-all" on a television series), in any group dynamic. I'm a dedicated space enthusiast [including having worked as a spacecraft systems engineer on 6 Canadian space missions and a PhD from MIT in a related field]." Victor, 26, United States "Why do I want to go to Mars? Really, who doesn't? The opportunity to go to space, period, let alone become one of the first settlers on a different planet, that's tremendous." http://www.theepochtimes.com/n3/47940-why-are-people-applying-to-go-to-mars-and-never-come-back/ |

If you guys think what we are practising in Nigeria, is democrazy, then you are all deluded! And if you also think, things will get better the way we are going, I'm sorry to say 'you are on a long thing' For more insight, I advise you all to go and read The 48 Laws Of Power, and you will discover that Nigerian Rulers will continue to run this country for their personal gain till it dies, while feeding the ignorant citizens with hope of a better tomorrow. About 3years ago, Jonathan came onboard and promised hope and fresh air, but the reality is very painful. 3 years of your life is gone without reaping the benefits of a good government but you can continue to hope that he will become born again before the end of this term and maybe, just maybe you may enjoy what other democracies around the world are enjoying. If not, maybe if you give him the coveted second term, maybe he might repent and use it to bring down the dividends of democrazy. Yes, the only thing we enjoy from the government is promise and hope. They never run out of it. And the gullible citizens keeps on swallowing it As for me, anything but this sham, this lootocracy, masquerading as demo crazy! 1 Like |
