Programming / Re: Flutter Developers Would You Move To React Native If It Adopts Skia Engine by Nipeks(m): 2:51am On Feb 18, 2022 |
I use both Flutter and React Native but React Native is still my first choice (with or without Skia). I only use Flutter when I am asked to. Flutter has a better performance compared to React Native but performance is rarely an issue with the kind of apps you build with Flutter and React Native. I also don't like the fact that I had to learn a useless dart language which is only adopted by Flutter. Flutter also put some limitations on how you can use dart in the framework. For example, you cannot use reflection/mirrors making it impossible to do a trivial thing like accessing the property of an Object by string. You end up using Maps where you really want to use Object just to make life easier. So many packages are still not null safe and abandoned. React Native has a more active community compared to Flutter. |

You don't need anybody to give you proof. You can use your head too. Find a space that slopes slightly against each other from opposite ends then continously pour water of different density from each end. You will see the similar result of what OP is talking about. You don't even need to do any experiment to know this has not defied any law of science thus there is nothing supernatural about it. It is something many sailors would have noticed and written about before Muhammad was born. Muhammad simply stole excerpts from various books and used it to bamboozle his followers just like many other religions from the classical antiquity to the middle age. But I don't expect you to stop following Muhammad. In fact, part me of feels you deserve to die in your ignorance. ALLAHU AKBAR 13 Likes |

WORDWORLD: The OP just needed a word to explain all her bad experiences with men because it can never be her fault. And Narcissism is not even the right word. Anybody can be guilty of Confirmation Bias regardless of gender. Even scientists can be guilty of it. However, women are natarally more emotional than men. It is more difficult for them to take what makes sense over what makes them happy. It is what makes them vulnerable in the first place. They find comfort in wishful thinking and less likely to accept blame or take responsibility. They will automatically assume the inferior position in a social setting to avoid responsiblity - That is the definition of inferiority complex. 1 Like |

MissJoy29: Listen Zodiac sign personality suggestion is simply a manifestation of the law of probability. It does not do what it claims it does and there is nothing sophisticated about it (except for the simple minded). Statistics says there are 7.5 billion people on this planet. That means more than half a billion people were born the same month as you. Scorpio and other zodiac signs consists of just few lines of personality traits summary. So it makes sense that out of 625,000,000 people there will be millions of people that will possess those traits and you just happen to be one of those people by chance. There are millions others born the same time that do not have these traits. Confirmation bias is the tendency to search for, interpret, favor, and recall information in a way that confirms one's preexisting beliefs or hypotheses. It is a type of cognitive bias and a systematic error of inductive reasoning. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confirmation_bias Just look at the other Zodiac signs sincerely and see if you won't find other signs that speaks about you, just as much as the Scorpio sign does. 1 Like |

thoth: If you think I don't understand the concept of free will, that can only mean that your definition of free will is different from mine. My definition of free will is the ability to choose between different possible courses of action unimpeded - Wikipedia. Unimpeded means unrestricted, independent of any external factor, external factor includes reason because you cannot control reason, it controls you. That proves that All reasonable decisions are not free will.
The article does not make any conclusion about free will but it made it clear that science frowns against it and I quoted a small section that summarized it. Can you quote any part of the article that says "majority of the science community upholds it"? That is very dishonest of you. Just say you don't agree with science. It's either that or your idea of free will is different. |

thoth: If free will really exists, it will not rely on anything. That will only nullify it as free will. But unfortunately, our choices rely on circumstances beyond our control. That answers your question. You wife did not will the fear out of herself, she relied on you. Key word - Relied. Neuroscientist and physicists have carried out various experiments. Non of them proves that fee will exists. Some of the experimental observations are widely viewed as implying that free will does not exist or is an illusion. Below is a quote from Wikipedia. Just saw this. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_will You may not respect my views. But maybe you can trust Wikipedia. |

StaffofOrayan: There is obviously difference between destiny and control. I am not saying they are the same. However the two are connected. When people use the word destiny, what usually comes to mind is "God's perfect plan for everybody". I am not saying God or any Deity is responsible for everyone's future. All I'm saying is that the future is fixed and control 8s the key to explaining that. If you can't change the outcome of event irrespective of the cause, then the future is fixed. And I have given several example that shows that thinking the outcome of an event is your doing is an illusion. Let me rephrase the dice thing again. If you roll the dice once and it falls to one. There are various conditions that caused it to fall to one (e.g shape and size of the dice, the wind speed and direction, the force, motion and direction that rolled the dice, the friction of the surface of where the dice was rolled e.t.c). If all those conditions that caused the first outcome are kept, it will always result in the same outcome. You can search for YouTube Videos. Some skillful gamblers don't even need all those conditions. I understand your message that nobody should settle for less. But it doesn't matter. People who will settle for less will and people who won't won't. You may argue that you are not a dice or a robot for that matter. But all those complex decisions you make are basically chemical reactions in your brain. We are chemically advanced robot. Want and fears is our zeros and ones. All our choices are based on wants and fears. Nobody chooses what they want or fear. |

thoth: A greater cause does not necessarily mean a God or Diety. I personally do not believe in that (though I am open to the possibility). A greater cause could be the society, the government, the laws of physics anything we can't control as an individual. Game and Chaos theory are both in support my opinion in the issue Game Theory says the outcome of a participant depends on the action of other participants. Chaos Theory says a slightly small change in the condition can give rise to strikingly great consequence. It appears we are on the same side here. Everything you say seem to prove my point. |
Religion / Re: Do You Believe What Will Be Will Be, Do You Believe In Destiny? by Nipeks(m): 9:43am On Aug 28, 2017 |
StaffofOrayan: Your initial response was not harsh at all. You have agreed that you are not in control because you cannot control all eventualities. It is easy to take credit after trying very hard and everything eventually fell into place. Maybe you even pulled some strings yourself that contributed to everything falling into place. But not everybody has the strength, opportunity, motivation e.t.c that you had. They did not choose not to have those advantages. If those disadvantages are factors that determine their will power then they are not also in control of their will power. But even will power is not enough. There are people who tried harder and pulled more strings than you but didn't succeed because of the situation beyond their control. If you roll a dice 1 million times under the same condition (e.g the size and shape of the dice, the direction and speed of the dice, the motion of the hand rolling the dice etc.) you will also get the same result. The dice may think it's size and shape is a factor that influenced the outcome but it did not choose the cause of its size and shape, therefore, it did not choose the outcome. Free Will is literally not free will. |
Religion / Re: Do You Believe What Will Be Will Be, Do You Believe In Destiny? by Nipeks(m): 8:26am On Aug 28, 2017 |
thoth: I get your point. The stronger your will power, the higher your chance of success. But why do some people have stronger will than others? Everybody wants to be successful. Why can't everybody just increase their will power if it's that straight forward? Because the will power is also an effect of a greater cause which they can't control. That is my point. A christian whose parent was killed by boko haram will definitely have more will power to join the military against the terrorists than a Muslim who has been indoctrinated into jihad. If the effect cannot not choose its cause then Free Will is not actually free will after all. |

prinzfavian: You are assuming things. First, I am not a believer of "God". I have not mentioned Destiny or God anywhere. I don't know where you are getting that from. This is not a religious war. My logic is simple. Your actions are shaped by your wants and fears. You don't have absolute control over your wants and fears. Do you understand that or you want me to elaborate? |
