Hey just be patient am sure they will call you and they will notify all those who will no be invited.

Is it compulsory to take a passport to the interview i mean isn't it possible to take an ID or birth certificate in place of passport.

It's very much advisable to go along with a passport because it renders you more serious..

I've been granted the scholarship for postgraduate studies, now I'm waiting for placement in the university. I was very happy when you said that there's a chance of 95% to be placed in the university of our first choice. Mine is Istanbul Technical University for Art History.

My other choices are:

2. Istanbul University
3. Ankara University
4. Hacettepe University
5. Akdeniz University
6. Mimar Sinan Fine Art University
7. Anadolu University
8. Selçuk University
9. Yıldız Teknik University
10. Ondokuz Mayıs University

My question is, do you know of people being placed in a university of their 5th to 10th choice? I'm worried because I thought I had to choose 5 universities outside Ankara, Istanbul and Izmir, and I realized later that rule was only for undergraduate students. If so, do you know of people changing their department after being in Turkey?

Congrats. Under the current Scholarship body (which changed quite recently late last year), I cannot be fully certain of the new rules and changes. There have been lots of changes since my time so I cannot give anyone a direct answer anymore. Nevertheless, I heard they are much stricter with their application rules but I have come across one or two people who have tried to change their departments and/or universities totally, and they were able to. I think it would depend on the university you get sent to. You are a postgraduate student so your choices are more flexible than undergraduates. Anyways, your best bet would be to talk directly to the Scholarship office for more information and feel free to ask them whatever you want. The administrators speak good english. Congrats bro! Are you from nigeria and which course did you apply for?

pravinp: @Musabds: I don't know the statistics but from my experience they don't want to disqualify anyone in interview unless he/she is the worst in communication because my performance was not at all good but they selected me. Other things I don't know as I am also a prospective student like u.

Well that is wat all the PHD/Masters applicant hav been complainin about,but according to a member of the scholarship board,he said its goin to be 4-people in a room(for post graduate students) from the usual 6 people in a room.then for food,I have no idea.but u shld be able to handle that all by urself.

I'm a graduate student like you and I'm very much confused now because they placed me in the university of 10th choice. I don't like the university at all and I picked the name just because I thought we had to choose half of the universities from other cities rather than Istanbul, Izmir and Ankara. The rule is only for undergraduates really?
I feel disappointed right now. I expected to have a chance to study in Istanbul, and I stated that again and again in all fields of application form.

I did not have all my papers translated into English and I grabbed the IELTS test in such a hurry without any study and received the score of only 7.0. Is that possible for me to apply for the scholarship again next year? I mean if I refuse the scholarship this year, am I eligible to apply for it next year?

I got yildiz technical university for PhD. I chose this university thinking that the language of instruction is English and they ask for IELTS result as a departmental requirement. Now, in my offer letter it is stated that the language of instruction is Turkish. Why is this discrepancy? Can we comeback to our country voluntarily without completing the course?

I'm not so impressed, why is everyone taking a swipe at the Turkey scheme? I stand corrected, but probably you guys didn't take time to read through the universities brochure, cos with the testimonies I have had in recent years, the scholarship is an excellent scheme

Am beginning to believe that there's no scholarship for we Nigerians this year especially the undergraduate just like last year..no post graduate student has been called for interview talk less of we undergraduate applicants.and they were in Ghana and some africa countries but failed to visit us.all u get if u call them is for we to be patient,but for how long?!....

I called them last thursday,and all I was told is to wait then he asked for my number of which I gave..am getting tired,I blieve there should just tell us if there's nothing for we Nigerians as am losing interest already.
