You can also buy gerber rice cereal...rice cereal contains a lot of Iron that they need. It is 750-800, but lasts about 2 weeks or more, as they only need a few scoops per day.

There are many cheap and decent quality baby foods out there...just do your search. Don't malnourish your baby because of a few hundreds of Naira.

He is just 7mths old, pls go easy on his tummy. Some babies can handle it, some can't. I don't see anything wronf in giving both in one day, but like I said some babies might not handle it well.

Hope you are not making the cerelac too thick? Hope you are giving him sufficient water, and are mixing his formula correctly?

What do you mean by behaving somehow?

If he is passing the normal amount of poo without discomfort, then it is most likely nothing to do with his tummy.

I suggest you start introducing adult food

Mashed potatoes with well boiled Titus fish, amaka and okro, egg yolk, mashed bannana etc. else you may find it hard to get him to take them if you wait too long. give him what you are eating. Just make sure you go very very easy on the salt, pepper and seasoning, cook very soft, avoid stuff that have bones or Debone carefully, mash what can be mashed, puree what can be pureed.


Also trust your instincts and be confident in your decisions as his mother

I will flog you, as I read this post I was short of words PLEASE mothers before you use anything for your babies especially from the doctor read the inner leaflet, hydrocortisone is not for babies. Please hope your baby is getting better

You're right but most prescriptions are meant for 12mth+. I've always advised that creams should b missed with baby's cream or shea butter.

@ jess: it'll blend with time but if you're disturbed, original palm kernel oil & honey works wonders or go for lami.cil (speaking from experience).

Yes oh my sister a doctor prescribed hydrocortisone for my daughter when she was around 6months I was not feeling comfortable so I called my personal doctor she shouted she said I shouldn't use it, years ago it was prescribed for me and a pharmacist advised I should not use it. If not that I read leaflet some drugs they prescribe will say do not give to children under one year but they will still give it to patients, please mothers read leaflet always.
