stone07: Hello doctors and mothers in d house. My son of two months plus have been having sleepless nite. During d nite d baby always stretches, push and grunt with deep sound that comes from his throat. He does this in every 5 minutes and this discomfort don't allow my son to sleep in d night. He also does this during d day.
We have seen doctors but all what they said is it is normal that d baby is ok. He does not have temperature but we know he is having discomfort.
Please doctors and mother in the house assist me on this because my wife also can not sleep.

Did you see a paediatrician or a regular doctor?

@ stone07, some people say d strecthing might be caused by d navel. It hasn't well. Afta baby clocks 3months. It stops disturbing. Also it might b caused by excess gas. Try n burp d baby afta each feeding. Then lay d baby 2 sleep with his face facing down, but u must monitor d baby in this position.

Excess gas is a possible reason. Ensure he/she burps before laying down.

@stone07, if you have seen a pediatrician, just relax but be very watchful, then if its cholic or navel pain me I used grip water the foreign one and it helped alot. So if its too disturbing you can go back to your doctor

I forgot to say d baby was born pre term. He was 1.2kg when he was born and it was twin pregnancy.

@ stone07. It doesn't mean if the baby was born preterm. My son experienced sometin similar when he was born. But it faded afterwards, when he was 3 to 4 months. I didn't give him any drugs. I only burped him laid him face dwn 2 sleep. Then he was always farting gas n streching.

Madam, make it a bit light @ first to see if he likes it, otherwise, make it "moderately" thick. As per no of formula scoop, I believe your formula has its scoop, 2-4 should b OK, but follow d RDA label on your formula can. If it says 7 scoops per day, divide by no of feeding & give him.
All being said & without sounding rude, you need to move out of your comfort zone, use d "mother instincts" as advised by others in most cases. My son is 11mth now & whatever I have doubt/advised about my son, I google it first, get different opinions from diff sources to guide my decision. You could, in fact, you should do same. It is well with ya.

Your baby needs about 28oz - 32 oz of formula per day, between the ages of 7mths and 1yr. So use that as a guide and spread it over the day.

But most of all, ensure you mix the formula correctly, as directed on the pack, whether you are feeding it directly or mixing it with another food.

That face down thing is scary...but at the same time, the face up thing can also be unsafe. My son almost choked when I put him face up to sleep...he was about 2mths then or a bit younger. His head was facing up, not the side, and I guess he choked on spit or something......but for some reason he was restless. Thank God I was awake. By the time I carried him, I realised the gravity of what just happened. Ever since then, I always place him to sleep on the side, and place a rolled up blanket to support his back...that to me is the safest position.

i think puttin d baby to sleep on his stomach is no big deal, just do it during d day wen u r awake and use somethin nt flexible- like a thick throw pillow to wedge him on his side at nights takin care to position d pillow at his back away from his head. I started putin my son to sleep on his tummy when he was about a week plus and I remember being surprised dat he was able to turn his head wtout issues at 2wks plus. Moreso, it helped to greatly reduce d gas. Dint need to take him to d paed or giv him meds. I avoided d sleepin on back posture. He's 6 mnths now and rolls over sleepin as he prefers.

One way i do to ensure that i get the correct measure of formula to water is to mix the formula in the water as if i want to give baby to drink then i mix the cerelac with the mixture. Any remaining milk will be given as food to the baby after eating the cereal. If the baby is just starting solids, then make it light and then thicker as the baby gets used to it.

It might be that he is allergic to something you ate in your food and passed on to him through your breastmilk.

Good day mamas, my one yr old princess spilled hot water from d electric kettle on her face though not much because I quickly intervened. I don't know how she managed to pull d cord o. Anyways, it left part of her face red and her lips too is a bit scalded and charred and the lower lip kinda whitish. I ran cool water on her face, gave her paracetamol and later applied sheer butter. Mamas please what more can I do? Or should I take her to the hospital? I can't stop blaming myself
