How much does a bsc graduate earn working as an admin officer of state general hospital
I think the figure will depend on how much the State in question offers her civil servants. Nevertheless, The health ministry tends to get better paid than many other ministries. Kindly tell us the state you have in mind so that Nairalanders with adequate information can come in.

I've seen a friend's pay check from INEC and the basic is 57k while the only allowance currently paid to him as an entry level staff (officer 2) is 20k. So take home is 77k.

Take home for entry level PHCN staff is about 79k
we now have two contrasting figures for an entry level INEC officer. 104K and 77K Who will bail us out?

You don't know what you are saying my friend. I work with exxon and i can tell you more about them.

Okay Sir...

Next time, instead of trying to patronize me, try to say what it is...

I started my career in an oil n gas servicing coy...

With a pay that an oil worker can never be proud of

before I eventually got move to from from one E&P coy to another..

I currently work in one of the biggest MNCs in the world country..

With connections cut across various disciplines as relevant in the industry..

Those figures I gave are as accurate as can be...

I don't know what you are talking about..

Enlighten me...

I daresay you're incorrect on this one. The portion of your income that is taxable is Basic salary. No one taxes your allowances. My firm is overly tax conscious and we even receive tax refunds for over-remittance. Do you work for FIRS by the way?

You might not know this cause you're not a Payroll Admin but blank is correct. Google PITA nigeria and read more about our tax laws.

Basically all income whether basic or allowances so far they are listed on the pay slip is taxable. The only tax exempt items are pension, gratuity, life insurance and two others I don't recall right now.

Definitely most companies manipulate things and end up paying taxes on just the Basic, Housing and Transport or any combination that they like. but the real gist is that all income is actually taxable.

I have audited payroll of companies. I have given tax advice while working for the big 4. I am currently looking at the PAYE law as I am writing to you. Leave allowance is taxed, bonuses are taxed, dress allowances are taxed. What won't be taxed that I haven't already written is re-imbursables which are directly incurred in the carrying out of your official duties.

I am curious, what kind of benefits doesn't your company tax?

Had to go look at my payslip once more. The bulk of my tax is borne by basic salary, entertainment, lunch and transport. About 35% actually. Another 1.7% approx is charged on my clothing, furniture and housing allowances. So you are correct on that. BUT, my leave, bonuses and medical are not taxed, far as I know.

karmaleon:
Shell - approx. 650k monthly
ExxonMobil and Total - approx 16m-17m per annum
Schlumberger - approx. 800k monthly

The gist is, exploration and production companies pays at least 500k monthly with other benefits while servicing companies starts from 200k.

But you MUST have your masters before you can get in!
pls may u follow me back or reply my email because i wld want to make enquiries wit u

I thought you were the one that prepares payroll for your company. Just read the amended PAYE laws then compare it with what your company is doing. You will see a difference. Even before the amendment, all allowances were to be taxed.

I personally know some banks that have "tax consultants" who specialize in paying little tax and getting the tax authorities to "reduce" their tax payments.

However, for your company, do they write the tax for each payroll line item separately or do they show you their tax computation?

I've started something and I must see it through to a reasonable completion( It's not my fault, that's my kind of person).

I'm the OP and it's wise I finish what I have started. Don't you understand the purpose of this thread? Are you not an intelligent individual?

They don't itemize the tax. I just see how much I've earned on each allowance, then the total tax deducted.

Okay, so how do you know how much you were taxed on each allowance as you were able to separate the tax on each allowance.
