Good morning peeps. Need answers to the following questions;

1. I have a valid US (tourist) visa prior to getting pregnant. Do i need to apply for a new (medical)one to have my baby in the USA?
2. Am thinking of going to Chicago, Illinois to have my baby. Can you help with names of good hospitals and birthing centre that the delivery cost is not killing.

3. Am currently in my 20th week. When is the most approbale time to travel that getting an Airline would not be a problm.

Your help required urgently. Thanks

Is it Possible for the Moderator of this thread to put up a CAVEAT that says "Read Before Asking Questions" OR "Read Through The Thread And Take Notes before Asking Questions". I believe this will help to avoid repetitions and prevent answers that TOUCH.

I'm going there in January.

All the best - I am planning to visit as well. But at the moment I am also wondering if I get some hospital in California. Will you go a lone or with you husband? Where are you from?
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by Nobody: 12:50pm On Oct 13, 2014
Nita2013 and damsell; Ah ah now! Its becoming annoying. One asked for procedure for baby's documentation, see me searching frantically for the page someone posted it. I went back all the way 60 pages behind, told the person the page and the name of the poster. Guess what? He still asked same question again! Meaning he didn't even bother going to read the page I directed him to. After I don use torchlite search the page come out with hubby breathing down my neck that I was not paying attention to his gist about how Ronaldo was the greatest player ever liveth. angry grin

Another one asked for MIHS maternity package, they posted the link here. She cared less to open it and came back to ask if its all inclusive or just Dr's fees. Eh eh, its just Paediatrician fees. angry

I just can not believe the laziness! I've decided to waka pass such posts and leave them to the very patient people who can say one thing one hundred times. I'm tired of begging them to help themselves.

I'll go with my husband but will spend the later part alone. I'm a Nigerian in Lagos.

Hello everyone, been reading this thread for a while and trust me, it has been useful. I got the doctors contact in Los Angeles from here and I am discussing with his office, yet to finalize. I am due in march but planning to travel first week in February. I have a tourism visa but I wrote them later to inform them of my new plans. Lagos sent me the standard response with the legal requirement thing. I know it was discussed earlier but I don't know the response the lady got when she asked them to explain what the legal requirement was. Pls does anyone know or is it really a typo

Good morning madam phena, is this why you haven't answered mine cos I specifically directed my question to you.

Here is the question again @ phema I had surgery last year cos I had ruptured ectopic pregnancy, [b]if am having a virginal birth for my next baby, it is going to be considered vbac. Thanks
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by mamacajah: 1:46pm On Oct 13, 2014
Pele phema now you understand how I feel when these kind of posts come up. It's pure laziness as if we are just sitting here waiting for their repetitive questions. I have decided to take the high road and ignore such posts. I believe if we all come to a uniform decision on this they will either learn to read or look for someone to pay to get the info they need.

D place is actually very nice, I just walk into d malls for all d shopping. They av Burlington baby depot, walmart, target, Ross, Costco etc just a walk-in distance n d hospital is about 7min with cab. I like it, just loneliness datzall. Let's see aw it goes.
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by Freshface: 1:52pm On Oct 13, 2014
Mabels, VBAC means VVaginal Birth After C/S! U did not av a C/S! Maybe an exploratory laparotomy for d ruptured ectopic. I'm sure nobody touched ur uterus, just d tubes. So NO! U will have a NORMAL VVAGINAL delivery or a C/S if there is an indication for that. Hope this answers ur question.
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by mabels: 2:15pm On Oct 13, 2014
thanks freshface, yes I read about VBAC, TOLAC etc, jt wanted some clarifications. thanks a lot.
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by Nobody: 2:32pm On Oct 13, 2014
Mabels, abeg no vex. Can't remember seeing that post. Checked it now and I saw you mentioned "Phena". grin

For your question; I doubt they will consider the procedure you had as "CS". VBAC only comes into the equation if one has had a CS. So you should be fine. Better still, ask your Gynea for a second opinion.

It will also be nice for you to check if there is any risk that a previous ectopic pregnancy can pose to a present pregnancy.

Nita2013:
Once u av ur baby, MIHS registers the birth and someone would come meet you 24hrs after the birth to get all the details of ur child, the father and the mother. After that, on the 3rd day, you will go to vital records office to pick up the birth certificate but u must go with an I.D so as to identify you.

Hi Nita, pls do u knw if u have to book appointment for the Tucson passport office or u can just work in? Pls if u have to book appointment does any1 knw the number plsss?
