Double standard company. You agreed to do a full refunds by end of last week only to turn around now that you want to pay half and the remaining half will be shipping credit. Why not call the customer if it is ok by him. U just concluded without putting the customer in the picture. For your information I am not interested in your shipping credit. What I want are my items or a full refund. You guys will hear from my team soon.

shippyme,

you are killing this guy business. try and reason with him.

2 months is just unfair for a company building reputation

First of all i will use this moment to appeal to the MOD to push this page to the front page..

I have surfered enough frm this people.. my item worth over 300k is missing for over 2month now, they first ask me to send them total cost of these items which i did, they claim it doesnt tally with the one they have on there system, i went to there office and it was confirmed!! and email was sent that they are going to refund my money.. here is the email:

Dear Oluyemi,

We hope this meets you well.

Having exhausted an extensive search for the whereabouts of your booking with reference number S1407076025 and having ascertained that the booking was indeed shipped, the management of Shippyme have resolved as follows;

We hereby declare the referenced booking missing.
We are deeply sorry for the loss of your items and the subsequent inability to locate them. We are mindful of the inconveniences caused to you and resolve to ensure that nothing of the sort occurs again.
According to our Terms and Conditions, we do not make refund in cases where items are uninsured. However, given the peculiarity of this case and your standing as a most esteemed customer, we will be setting aside this policy and making a refund for the declared value of the items in the booking and the cost of air freight paid.

We will appreciate feedback from you on this, as well as your bank account details to facilitate the refund as soon as possible.

Once again, accept our sincere apology for the uncharacteristic service you have received from us in this instance and be sure that measures have been put in place to ensure nothing of this nature repeats again.
Thank you.

now... all these while i have been patient with them cause they claimed refund process is going to take a week or so
but to my surprise today.. here is another email i recieve from them...

Alright guys,
After some discussions with the head of the company and the Lagos team, we have come to a conclusion. We have all agreed upon compensating you both with half of the value of all items in your booking, while the remaining half will be compensated in shipping credit. I hope this is solution will suffice and that you both will continue to allow Shippyme to handle all your freight forwarding needs. We sincerely appreciate the patience you've had with us, and I want to thank you as well personally. I know this has been an extremely inconveniencing situation, I would like to continue gaining your faith in us as a company and to make it up to you guys with exceptional service in the future as well. The compensation will take place this Monday, October 13th. Please feel free to mail me back or give a call if you have any questions or concerns. Have a great day!

now i am involving a law enforcement agencies to get my out complete without missing one kobo.. if you are still dealing with this people you are on your own.. my item was apparently sold by one of ther aggrieve staff who they cant pay his salary..

and one useless president is there defrauding people..

i will be reporting here live from monday as the even unfold

This is so sad. I honestly do sympathize with you. I have been a victim before and never again will i fall for their tricks.

Seun osewa, kindly do the needful and investigate these complaints. People find it hard to read and their adverts on your forum lure innocent importers who are unaware of their deceit.

I implore you to move this to the front page and advise shippyme to do full refund to affected importers before their advert is put back on. I know you are a capitalist who is solely after his pocket but please for integrity, do the needful as most of us got to know them through your forum.

Thank you.

well...

Here we go

I told shippyme am letting of 20% of the total cost of the items, total amount is around 300k...

they have refused.. and they believe they dont have any reason to pay me back my money, instead offering me shipping credit...

i will be updating this thread as the case unfold, cause it seem i wont get my money back except i seek redress in the court of law.

meanwhile i have been patient with them all this while, and i been there customer over the year, still they see no reason why they should pay me back money which is the total cost of my investment.

I will do all i could to spread the word around and to let people how they have treated me over the past months..

i will continue to updates this page..

starting proceeding this week

Dis is depressing cry

You make it almost compulsory for pple to pay insurance cos itz almost certain sometin wuld go wrong with their package.

My last item was delivered to your US address 16th of September.I couldn't pay until sept 30th cos u wasted too much time in giving me the financial implication.

Since then my items have been with u.Recently, you assigned one of the packages to batch and it has remained that way.Do you just assign to batch without a flight? undecided I guess itz gonna remain like dat till next month angry

The second item-i give up cry

Pple complain abt external factors killing business;shippyme is responsible for bringing down herself.

I regret not doing a background check here on nairaland. This will certainly not repeat itself-itz a promise angry

Why all this thread of complains when there are better options of purchasing items directly from US like MicoStar Mall www.micostarmall.com who are rated as the best and safest way to shop abroad from Africa. You also have other stores that ship directly to Nigeria. You can also use DHL and find out the difference with using DHL and some of these services is not much if you come to think about all the stress and delays.

Whoever is in charge at shippyme should please respond to this query. We ordered for goods with a total weight of 17lbs (8.16kg), only for Shippyme to send an invoice (Invoice numberS1410081376)of 41lbs (18kg), 24lbs more than the actual weight.

We have called, sent emails for the invoice to be corrected to the actual weight of the goods, without any positive response from Shippme customer care. This extra charge is dubious as far as I'm concerned.

If the invoice cannot be corrected, send an invoice for handling and stripping only and we shall get another shipping company to handle the actual shipment. Please treat this as urgent.

Tired of begging.

Dear valued Shippyme customers,

Some of you may be aware of the recent developments that have done much to damage our company and the image and service we worked so hard to build. Doing business in Nigeria is hard I must admit, but to say I am resolute, together with the best people on my team is a matter of fact. I want to convey my thoughts to you as the pillars of the growth of our organisation.

Over the past few months, some of you have fallen victim to the theft and loss of your items. I have been much troubled by the events as much as you are. It perplexed all of us. Unfortunately, the suspected cause is the most unlikely individual in our warehousing department in Lagos. This person has been removed from our employment and currently facing trial for the pains he has caused all of us. We have also significantly improved mechanisms for oversight in our logistics department to make sure nothing like this happens again.

You have complained about the inability to reach our customer service unit in Lagos, I agree with you that the development is unreasonable and apologise for the inconvenience. In addressing this issue we have completely replaced our customer service staff and added more phone lines to accommodate our growth. Be rest assured that none of your emails would go unanswered again.

In addition, we have reduced the price of our service to the lowest in the industry and we would match a valid lower price from any competition. The purpose of technology is to create efficiency. We have invested a lot in this area and it is time that we share the benefits with you. Our service charge can now be as low as 5% and shipping cost as low as $3.80. Going forward you can enjoy a much improved service delivery, the best web enabled service in the industry and the lowest costs. This is a promise.

Yours sincerely,

Shippyme Management

@shrekandfiona, by default we refund those with insurance in cash and in full. For customers who have not purchased insurance, we are refunding them in full but with shipping credit. This way they can ship for free until they exhaust the value. This is also a tangible and real way to offer them 100% return on the value they lost. Before we started Shippyme, we used companies who lost our cargo and didn't even admit it was their fault, not to talk of saying sorry.

other shipping company insurance company is bearable but urs is above the limit. i believe you did it on purpose so that you can gain an upper hand when a customer item is misplaced or stolen by your so call staffs.. in my own case Mr Adis after been a loyal customer for almost two years now... i will follow this to a very distinct end. am not taking your shipping credit that wont happen, each time i check those items i bought with my hard earned money i experience sadness over and over again! your inability to employ a trust worthy staff has cost me so much pain in the past months.. talk of lies from your staff.. you know how much i have wasted on call cards?

The world will be watching as the even will be unfolding in the coming week.. like i said before i dont have anything to loose. but i must prove a point.

I have sent several mails and made several calls to Shippyme. None has been replied. One of my items was stolen in your care and the best you can do is give me shipping credit. I am totally disappointed. The item that was stolen belongs to a friend. How do I resolve this with my friend? Give him shipping credit to ship another item which will probably be stolen by another member of the team.
I need a full refund in cash.

Please provide us with the name of the fraudulent member of staff so that we avoid dealing with the person.

@ irohadis, i quite understand your loss et all. However I am of the opinion that all affected parties should be given a full refund in cash. Insurance or not.

I will give you few examples and allow you ponder on them. On this same forum, nonnykings a China based freight company made refund to their customers when their goods were seized by customs, biz bloke is also in the process of refunding customers whose goods also went MIA.

when I make purchases from ebay, the seller's when shipping my items to my US address always insure my items. I don't get to know until I track the item and see the insurance paid. Also note that these items are also shipped free by most of these sellers.

I honestly feel it is your responsibility as an organisation to fully insure all goods you ship for unforeseen cases like this. In your case, it was even your staff that stole the items.

using twinskenny as an example, what happens to his 300k MIA, how does he compensate his customers, when all you do is offer him shipping credits? Does he also tell his customers same story he's been told? If you were in his shoes, what would have been your expectation?

If you truly want to reclaim your name, refund those affected persons in cash their full monies and make sure henceforth, all your shipments should be fully insured irrespective of who bears the cost of insurance .

I honestly think your organization wants to eat its cake and also have it. Thank you

Thank you brother,

I hope Mr Adis can reason along with you, imagine most of those items are not mine. my cousin precious laptop was there... after he waited for several weeks i have to used my personal money to purchase another one for him, there is a lady on this great forum who i purchase 3 blackberry bolds for.. she has called several names.. threaten to even lock me up!!!! imagine the humiliation.. i have to source for another phones somewhere and give to her..

NOw you are telling me to take shipping credit? if your staff stole my item how is that my business? he should be arrested and get all the stuff from him.. so while will i pay for your company inefficiency?

i am just been a little patient waiting to see if i will hear from them for the last time...
very PATHETIC!!!

Hello All,
Shipments that were assigned to the 10/10 batch (October 10th batch) have arrived in Nigeria and are now undergoing customs clearing. We expect them in our Ikeja facility by next week Monday. We'll keep you posted as things progress. Also today is a shipping day, so customers who have received their assigned to batch notifications should expect their packages soon!
Re: Shippyme Customer Care Thread On Nairaland by Nobody: 6:06pm On Oct 17, 2014
I lost an item I bought for a friend to Shippyme, presumably stolen by unscrupulous staff of yours. If we pay for insurance, are we insuring our goods against shippyme or external unforeseen factors? If our items were stolen by your staff, it indicates a breach of contract by Shippyme. The only thing that can remedy this breach is to replace the item or give a refund, the equivalent of the item's worth.

We are at your mercy because we don't have a legal system that works in Nigeria. If we did, we wouldn't have to beg you to do what is right by refunding us. And so, you decide to reward us with shipping credit! What the heck am I supposed to do with the credit? Present it to my friend as a replacement for his phone? Laminate the shipping credit in gold and hang on his doorstep? Or walk to the nearest bank to withdraw this shipping credit?

I have had enough heartache from shippyme to last a lifetime and so, I do not wish to continue shipping items with you, only to have them stolen and be refunded with useless Shipping credit. Once bitten, twice shy. You try to bankrupt someone's business (twinskenny) and want him to put all his capital on the line again.
Please refund the equivalent of the item that went missing before more damage is done to your integrity. You hire inept, light-fingerd staff without a background check and want customers to pay for your avoidable mistakes. You must either be deluded or living under a rock.

The only thing that can remedy this breach is to replace the item or give a refund, the equivalent of the item's worth.

before now i never knew the item was stolen by ther staff, and i was offering them to give me 80% of the the total cost of my items, that I will let the remainning 20% go without using it for any shipping credit.. but they refused claiming it was lost via transit.
i hate dealing with double standard set of people, first the claim it was missing by the airline and they will issue me a full refund of my items including the shipping cost within two weeks... later they turnd back and said its only 60% they can afford.. can u imagine that? not until recently the president was too big to call anyone.

either a legal system work here or not. i wont let my 300k go without a single fight!!!

you hired someone who has been stealing for GOd know how long.. yet you still allow him to continue working with your office... do you know how many ppl who are presently experence the same thing and dont have access to this webpage?

its pathetic..

you stole my items and u are offering my shipping credit? what an insult

@dsunmade thank you bro..

Imagine. So this useless company as breeding thieves in their warehousing department. Please pay the aggrieved person back his 300k. What nonsense!

The insured and the un-insured can never be treated the same way anywhere in the world. That "useless company" is still the best local freight forwarding company in Nigeria by every measure. Rules are rules and if you have no respect for rules, it shows just how you will function when given responsibility. Insurance provides cover for risk. Do some research to understand what it means. If you have a valuable and decline to insure it against potential harm, you have effectively resigned to carrying that risk yourself. What is the point paying for insurance if you will get covered without buying it? Can you without bias say Nigeria is a place you can function without risk? The wharf rats steal all the time. The baggage handlers steal all the time ( I lost a $2000 camera lens on a Delta flight). The Customs officials are known for their corruption. Many individual citizens working in various fields of endeavour, are all looking for ways to cheat the system. Your politicians hold the tiltle. So don't get me started. The company creates jobs and the people who turn to stealing from it betray public trust. Thinking that you can bend the rules to serve your interest is a form of corruption. There is no point coming here to troll. The blackmail will get you nowhere. The company is sticking by its rules and has gone as far as is possible to address the issue. The insured and the un-insured can never be treated the same way anywhere in the world.
