A visa does not entitle you to entrance to the United States-it simply entitles you to arrive at a port-of-entry to the United States and apply for admission to an officer of the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) unit on duty there. (They signify admitting you to the U.S. by stamping your passport with an entrance date.)

Likewise, your visa's expiration date does not signify the date your presence in the United States must end-it merely shows the last date you may use your visa to apply for admission to the United States at a port-of-entry. If the CBP officer chooses to admit you to the U.S., he or she will also tell you how long you are entitled to stay for-this may be a date, or this may be simply for "duration of status"

So, as you see, your visa as it stands is perfectly fine for travel-it is only saying you must arrive and apply for entrance to the U.S. before April 18, 2015. The date you must leave the U.S. by is the decision of the CBP officer on duty when you arrive.

Please note that there is no legal requirement to inform us that you are seeking to give birth in the United States. The Customs and Border Protection, a branch of USCIS, determines a traveler's eligibility of entry to the U.S, you should be prepared to demonstrate to the immigration officer at the port of entry why you are seeking medical treatment and that you have logistical and financial plans for the treatment.

We recommend that you review the regulations on non-immigrant aliens entering the United States for purposes of childbirth at https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/882/~/visit-the-u.s.-while-pregnant-and-the-risks-involvedand plan accordingly. Please you should not stay in the U.S. longer than you are permitted by Customs and Border Protection at the port of entry. The Department of Homeland Security at the port of entry will determine your eligibility to enter the United States on any travel.

If you choose to give birth in the U.S., we advise you to bring evidence of payment, both when you enter the U.S. on this visit, and at your future U.S. visa interviews.

This is very much in order and even gives more info on what to do which i had earlier adviced furthermore we all have to go fully armed ie. carrying all documents (genuine) and evidence along also presenting them gracefully and confidently at POE.

There is no need posting with two different IDs here. Deactivating one does not hide anything

You are under no obligation to renew your visa in jan if travelling in feb. What matters is that you enter US before your visa expires. Thereafter, it is how long u are granted entry (@ POE) that will determine how long you are entitled to spend in the US. Hope this helps.

Madam, this decision is totally yours. I had earlier advised. its your body, budget and all.. you know when your EDD is and how long you intend to stay in the US before and after delivery. If all of those would be before your Visa expires then fine if not ......

Definitely! All the CBP Officers will be interested in is whether your visa is still valid at the time you get to the POE. This means you can even travel a day to the expiration of your visa. They will stamp you in for the lenght of time needed to do what ever you stated you were coming to the US to do notwithstanding when your visa expires. Gerrit?
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by MiddyO(f): 1:56pm On Oct 22, 2014
@ Tenic09

You can apply for your doctor's appointment as early as possible, I think its just better to be prepared and not leave anything till the lat minute. I contacted my hospital as early as 9 weeks smiley
You can apply with your mom, and tell the V.O that she will help when the baby arrives. Your mom can also add her statement even if you state in your form that you or your husband will sponsor her. I added mine in my 'burden of proof' even though we listed my husband as the sponsor and it still helped.

As per your Doctor, i cant help with Dr Fagbohun, because I plan to use Elpaso in the future. You need to pay only $150 as registration fees to get your letter.

Hope this helps?

hello all beautiful people,

i am following this thread from past 4 months now and trust me every single post and page is worth of millions of information to make one decide the furture of his or her upcoming baby. we planned to do our baby at USA few months ago the moment we go to know the confirmation of pregnancy. to start up with i was reading the forum during the night after my working hours. my wife used to wonder what am i reading so much. i extracted few post of wonderful people who have shard there reviews of POE at various arrival points to US. i made her read through each and every page which dimmed fit for her to read. she gained her confidence through the forum thread and thats how we started to conduct more research on the subject. i had 2 options Atlanta and NYC, but after reading the forums understood that Atlanta makes more sense for few reasons and they were

1) i have my sister staying there
2) Gwinnett Medical center was with 10 mins from the sisters place
3) Date of delivery given is Dec 2014 last week, and it doesn't snow in Atlanta like NYC
4) wonderful reviews given by people over here of few doctors who we contacted and did our further findings.
5) Easily taken doctors appointment and receiving the appointment letter with name printed on it via email. (very useful at POE for CBP)
6) entire process for making birth certificate and US PP at Atlanta county is smooth as compared to NYC.
7) last and most important the cost of birthing in NYC is very high as compared to Atlanta.

Me and my wife had the visa from past 10 years now and have traveled multiple times to US, we didn't had to get in to the hassle of sending the consulate email for go ahead for child delivery. we did our research through this forum and i booked Delta and she arrived yesterday at Atlanta airport along with her mommy. the arrival experience was smooth, though it was very big Que and she had to wait for immigration for almost 1 hour.
finally the moment of truth, she arrived at POE and here is how it went off.

CBP - good afternoon, what makes you to come to US
wife - to deliver child and vacation
CBP - congratulation for that, have you booked your appointment with doctors?
wife - yes i did with Dr. XXXX at XXXX hospital
CBP - can i see the confirmation letter?
wife - sure you can officer, and pulls out he file.
CBP - its okay mam we trust you as you told us the truth by saying you are here to deliver the child and we liked you saying that, not sure why people lie and say they have put on extra weight. there is nothing wrong in birthing your child in US as far as you pay your bills and have zero balance.
wife - cheesy don't know officer why people lie.
CBP - mam please ensure that you carry all your bills along with you before you fly out with your baby and plan to come next time you need to carry all the bills related to your hospital to prove you paid and there is no outstanding against your file. ensure that you don't take any medicaid and charity from the hospital NO MATTER WHAT THAT THING COULD BE. (HE INSISTED ON THAT POINT)
wife - sure officer (by this time he took her finger access and took picture)
CBP - welcome to america, and please declare your customs, i am sure you are carrying cash along with you to take care of your expenses.
wife - yes i do its USD $17,000 (she was flying along with her mother) thats including me and my mommy cash.
CBP - thats fine please follow the gentle man (points out towards another officer and puts the passport in white envelop, he stampes the passport for 6 months for wife and mommy)

next officer asked why she was here, told him for child brith, says congratulation and starts talking even his wife is pregnant and she is into XX month and he kept talking about his stories. By now wife is smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley

arrives at customs and declares the cash and do the paper work and she was out.

guys this is what exactly happened and trust me all this was possible since i have gone through each and every thread of this forum pertaining the subject. please people read all the pages end to end, there are small small details which gives you more and more confidence. if you guys have some more details question please ask let everyone also have the same knowledge which is worth millions. i am not from Niaja but from India and was following this forum like crazy. but i am glad that i did that.

best regards,

godblessamerica grin
