I am not into politics but Ameachi went too far with his rants about the president. Jokes apart, that is the highest office in the country and the No. 1 person in this country and he deserves all the respect he can get. We have now turned our country's politics into a laughing stock as international bodies would defintely be amazed at Ameachi's public show of shame. I think its high time some people know where their boundaries lies and be made to stay their. He behaved really rascally...like a motor tout! angry

You earn respect, it's not dashed out like pure water.

Besides, what he said was the truth. Or are you insinuating he shouldn't tell the truth?

The Presidency on Sunday came down hard on Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State over some allegations he made against President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife,Patience, on Saturday.
While speaking at the All Progressives Congress mega rally held in Port Harcourt,
Amaechi had among other allegations accused Jonathan of not implementing any project in the state, encouraging corruption
and meddling in the state’s internal affairs.
But the Presidency, in a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, described
the allegations as false and baseless vituperations.
Abati said the governor’s unwarranted outburst was an indication that he had lost
all sense of propriety, decorum and responsible political behaviour.
He said Amaechi was peddling the
falsehood in order to incite the people of the state and the country against his assumed political foes.
He wrote, “Governor Rotimi Amaechi took his obnoxious willingness to denigrate the
highest office in the land in a reckless bid to advance his selfish political interests to a new level of irresponsible and rascally
behaviour yesterday (Saturday) in Port Harcourt with his totally false and baseless vituperations against President Jonathan, the First Lady and the Federal Government.
“It appears from the Governor’s completely unfounded and off-the-mark allegations that he had totally lost all sense of propriety,
decorum and responsible political
behaviour and resorted to unacceptable demagoguery, libel, blackmail and incitement of public disorder.
“Unless his unbridled ambition and desire for self- promotion have completely befuddled his mental faculties and caused
him to totally lose touch with reality,Governor Amaechi must know that his claims and allegations are untrue.
“We can only assume therefore that he is deliberately spewing malicious falsehood in a desperate effort to incite the people of
Rivers State and Nigeria against his assumed political foes.”
Abati warned the governor that there are legal, constitutional and moral limits to political rascality beyond which he would not be allowed to go without repercussions.
He said notwithstanding the immunity he currently enjoys, a day of reckoning would
come when Amaechi would answer for all his false allegations against the President,
his wife and the Federal Government.

This is an empty response from Abati. I expected he would have at least mentioned one or 2 projects the FG has done in Rivers state (even if it's small); or are there truly none?... then that would be preposterous!

Ameachi has been known for spewing trash since his defection to APC . What do you expect from a failed politician. In advanced democracy u can't just come out and be insulting the President or is it because GEJ is a Democrat to the core. As for day of reckoning it is not too far again because come 2015 we rivers people will surely align with our brother GEJ till 2019 and for ameachi a self contained cell is already built and ready for him after 2015 and beyond. He should come out and tell us the wonderful transformation he did in rivers state abi him don turn Rivers state to Ne w York? That he is also fast in pointing accusing fingers on the President.

#less I forget Nyesom Wike for governor 2015#
For a better and prosperous Rivers.

A day of reckoning indeed will come, albeit to everyone.
Amaechi has actually gone off handle and has belittled himself before people like me, who only participated in the last election for his and Jonathan's sake, by some of his unbridled utterances.

He attended a convocation somewhere in PortHarcourt recently and told the crowd that he did not come to deliver an address as invited, but to incite them to rise against the president

It is sickening. He may need to be mentally evaluated so we don't keep assuming all is well with him.

To say he has lost all sense of decorum is not out ouf place. Inasmuch as he doesn't give heed to third party advice, people close to him should make efforts to caution him.

Talkativeness is not a mark of bravery, but the opposite

The fear of Amaechi is now the beginning of wisdom...
meanwhile if a president(leader) falters, support him.If he stumbles, help him to his feet bt if he is of no use and clueless,POLE-AXE him.
Re: Amaechi Has Lost Decorum, Says Presidency by akinsadeez(m): 7:26pm On Oct 26, 2014
I clicked this thread expecting to see a robust factual reply from the president, not a presidential release containing grandiose flowery language but which is really the very definition of otioseness.

Amaechi made a lot of allegations. Even if you don't believe him, the fact is that he mentioned names. He said Jonathan had not completed a single project in Rivers even mentioning the east-west road...this is something that Gej can be easily debunk by giving us the facts of the projects he has undertaken and completed in Rivers state. Amaechi said Jonathan has helped in the illegal takeover of some of Rivers States' oil wells and he mentioned the states. Gej can easily counter all these by telling us how the other states came in possession of oil wells that were in possession of Rivers state or whether Amaechi's claim about the oil well is in fact false.

Instead of releasing statements full of grammar and little sense, threatening Amaechi with fire and brimstone (legal and otherwise) GEJ should confront issues with verifiable facts and figures.

Then how come has Reuben Abbiate claimed it is a lie. He said he has done f*ck all in Rivers but Abbiatti said they did and you are here claiming Rivers is not the only state in Nigeria. What different does it make?

I dont care about whatever issues they have between themselves, I care about the facts and the facts is that he has done jack shiiit in Rivers.

I am not against the truth bro..all am saying is he should find a reasonable way of presenting his truths and not in a rascal and unacceptable ways that make him (Amaechi) lose his own respect. Which other country have you heard the governor speak in such manner as Amaechi did? That was pure incitement but such cheap incitement don't work for me but mind you I am no Jonathan's fan. A lot of people bought Amaechi's well planned incitementment against the president but not me!

This is the question wise political thinkers often ask Amaechi: How many project did you do while in PDP and how many have you done since you left for APC?
Comparative Analyses.

Please critically analyse beyond the boundaries of sentiment.

The discussion was about Rivers, simple!

Amaechi accused the FG of not executing any projects in Rivers state but rather, ceded away Rivers' oil wells to Bayelsa and Abia. First of all, I did not expect the presidency to respond to such allegations but since they decided respond, I expected Abati to at least counter the claims of Amaechi but instead he ended up writing a long beautiful rubbish.

It takes only a fool to believe Amaechi. Amaechi that came to my school and insulted my lecturer whose course he failed as an undergraduate. Amaechi had never been a good follower and he can never be a good leader.

One funny thing about him is that he always tell the world that he's being subjugated, dehumanized, derelegated and insulted by the presidency, but he does alike to his subordinates. Amaechi bullies everybody in Rivers State except Joseph Mbu and Wike...
