Since he is teething, pls monitor what goes into his mouth. Buy teething ring and keep it clean/ sterilized. the ones with silicon can go to the fridge.

People say stools while teething is as a result of 'not so clean' things the baby put in their mouth to relieve their itching gum

My daughter just sprung four teeth and she had the slimy okro poop for two or so days but she is fine now, just fussy and whiny,no temperature
yeah,dis is true,me likey

u mean its nt good to treat diarrhea for babies as a result of teething,bt I think pead say, diarrhea is nt a sign of teething,bt as a result of what baby put in his mouth during teething dat cause d diarrhea,u can google it,if I'm lying,so nt treating a baby for diarrhea, how can it go on its own without any anti-diarrhea medicine
I said "I was told"; I didn't advice against it. My son never had stooling issue, so I know next to nothing as possible cause nor any sort of remedy/mgt.
However, there are diff school of thought on whether teething causes diarrhoea or not. I think a "loose stool" differs from diarrhoea; infact, to d best of my knowledge, definition of diarrhoea depends greatly on body.

Thanks! I'm a huge supporter of no self-medication too...just felt infant gaviscon was like paracetamol that is widely accepted.

My first child never had it. She quietens when placed tummy down though...but she hardly burps, you can spend 20mins burping her and nothing will come out. Warm compress used to work, but doesnt seem to workanymore.

Silent reflux is not easily diagnosed, from what you have described it sounds like colic though. For colic, you just have to wait it out, at least in my case gripe water dint work. But she outgrew it at 2months.

P.s Infant gaviscon isn't like paracetamol. Shouldn't be used without prescription. It's not even easy to find in Nigeria anyways

The reason I said silent reflux is that she doesn't spit up, but appears like she is swallowing something...and soon after that, she starts to wriggle and arch and just generally uncomfortable...and it happens after every feed.

I would have said colic, but she doesn't have screamingor crying spells....just the discomfort as stated above. I was forced to put her to sleep on her tummy, to ease her discomfot....and she slept peacefully, only woke up once to feed and then a diaper change.....but I cant keep putting her to sleep on her tummy cos its not safe....i literally slept with one eye open yesterday.

Prior to me drinking milk and the start of this, she was a generally happy baby...but for 2-3days now, discomfort.

her weight is within normal for her age. she shld weigh 6.5kg±2@4months. Just ensure ur baby feeds well. And adding formula after 4months isnt wrong @ all

I know what silent reflux is. I know they say putting on the tummy causes SIDS but that's the way my baby has been sleeping since one month. She had colic and reflux.

You can start by putting the baby to sleep on his tummy during nap times when you can monitor, then based in that decide for night times. Just keep blankets and anything that can cause suffocation away

Thanks sis! That tummy down position at night, scares me. During the day, she sleeps on her tummy and side...but ever since hubby found her one afternoon, with her face buried in the sheets (she had turned her head and now couldn't complete the action), we have been fearful about night tummy sleeping.

I have never used it but I heard it makes babies sleep for so long; some as much as 3 days before the effectiveness wear off. At 8 weeks its kinda early to start introducing such to your baby.

What exactly is wrong with baby's appetite? What does she feed on?
I broke up to 2 by the time my baby was 6 months old,my aunt helped me replace the bottle inside the broken big flask with a new one in the East and I bought 2 stainless flask for outing-the medium one was 2500 while the very small one was 1k.

It's better you use stainless flask for outing.

You are not alone in the flask issue jare
pls where can I get d bottle inside d broken flask, can I also get it here in lagos at babies store

You're welcome.

I dont think it can be fixed in any regular baby store, someone took it along on a trip and fixed it in the East. The fixed bottle retains heat longer than the original one that came with mine.

You should ask around,i'm sure there will be somewhere in Lagos that it can be fixed.

Before i fixed it, i had thrown away 2 flask that got broken (never knew it could be fixed then)

Well, I don't give paracetamol anyhow o.. u no all ds drugs av side effects wt prolonged use.
Nothing has to come out wen u burp her- just d belching sound is enough. U can also rub ur hand on her tummy clockwise and massage her tummy wt warm towel during bath time

I feel he doesnt feed well. He feels satisfied on only one breast n doesnt take up to 4mins and he's done (though he sucks very fast n chokes n my breast feels soft afterwards). I also want him to gain more weight.
In my opinion, he's doing fine. As long as he seems satisfied after eating- no crying etc, u shd nt worry. How often does he suck? What's his weight? How old is he?

Not even the burp sound, my sister.

But since mid-afternoon, she appears to be better and now burps easily....I'm so surprised! All I did was pray, and voila!!!

Happy baby, Happy mum!
