pls try removing Ondo, imo and abia cous you re giving some yolobars and some oyibo the impression of being part of us.. Instead of them to be fighting 4 there Odua or biafra republic.

Have you been to warri b4 ? Has the urhobos complained of the isoko ? Y re you IBO creating hatred btw d tribes in SS ? Pls i respect the ibos alot don't make me tink tat u guys re tat selfish and evil.. I knw u Ibo re angry tat there is peace in warri nw.. All want you wanted was we should be killing each other.. Bt if i may ask why re u guys so so selfish and far from the truth ?..

Jst because bcous the urhobos resisted ur selfish biafra u re here putting enemity btw we and or neighbor.. Do you knw abt the Isoko ? They speak d same lingua with us, the same culture and so on.. Y will they reject us or there ijaw brothers.. U don't knw SS so don't say wat you don't knw..

You can't remove what you didn't put. The oil wells in Imo and Abia were not put there by you, and can't be removed to satisfy your ego.

But i find it funny that you have failed to acknowledge the presence of proud Igbo people in Anioma area of Delta state, and you out of Ignorance failed to acknowledge the presence of Egbema and Oyigbo( Ndoki +Asa) in Rivers state, these are proud Igbo people recognized by Rivers state govt as Igbos, and with oil producing lands.

Together, the Aniomas and the Egbemas, Ndoki and Asa, out number the Uhrobos, if the 2006 population census figures, is anything to go by. So, you see, like you once said, politics is a game of numbers, and as far as South South is concerned, Ndigbo have more stake there than your Uhrobo.

Isokos were never part of Biafra, so they couldn't have resisted what they were never part of, but the Isokos resisted all the schemes made by the Uhrobos to merge them with Uhrobo and marginalize them.

NIGERIA: OGONI MINORITY RIGHTS LEADER KEN SARO-WIWA APPEALS TO JUDGE AT MURDER TRIAL

Nigeria faced a barrage of international condemnation after special court sessions on Monday and Tuesday (October 30-31) passed death sentences on nine activists, including campaigner Ken Saro-Wiwa.
There were calls for sanctions against Nigeria after the sentences were passed.
The activists were tried for the murders in May 1994 of four pro-government leaders in the oil-producing Ogoniland, which has been wracked by violence caused largely by a campaign against environmental pollution from oil exploitation.
Saro-Wiwa's son, Ken Wiwa, said the verdict was an outrage and demonstrated a "blatant disregard for justice, for human rights and for world opinion".
British opposition parties called for sanctions against Nigeria, which became independent from Britain in 1960.
Protests came from the Commonwealth group, whose summit in New Zealand in two weeks is due to discuss democracy in military-ruled Nigeria.
Saro-Wiwa, a prominent author and president of the Movement for the Survival of Ogoni Peoples (MOSOP), was sentenced with three others on Tuesday for inciting the murders. Five MOSOP associates were sentenced to death on Monday for complicity.
these were crimes committed by the Northerners against the those whose lands provided all d support for this great nation.can someone pls send the above quote to Governor Amaechi to see how the Northerners love his people?this people suffered cos the Northerners want d control of oil perpetually.the north is d bane behind Nigerians problem.i m from d north but I hate to admit that over 30 years of been in charge of this country, what we can boast of Boko Haram.GEJ is a beneficiary of d death of all these people freedom fighters.may God help us

SO WRONG MY FRIENDS.
Ojukwu got it all wrong. In the first place, what was Ojukwu's plan with the South South and South - West before going to war with Nigeria. What was his plan for the entire East - Igbo. I can tell you from all available facts that even some igbo elite were only conscripted into his Biafra war, were not taken to confidence, briefed for his tactical war plans or allowed to have a say on how to go about the war and win. All he needs to win the war was to create strong ties with the West (Awolowo) and at least captured Lagos. But no, he was so angry and in a hast that he can not wait for the Yorubas and the Niger Delta. Hence the failure and defeat. He never carried them along but wanted them to fight/defend for what they know nothing about. One person alone cannot plan, fight and win war without allies (especially a civil war as it were).

Ken Saro wiwa believed in the oneness of Nigeria, fought to defend its unity. Same with Awolowo. They were not a traitor or betrayers. Ojukwu disrespected elders advice from Awolowo and co. How then do you expect the same people to support him??

Ken Saro Wiwa in his none violent quest to righting the wrongs of inequality, marginalization, ecological war, environmental degradation, pollution of air and waters, constant oil spillage, destruction of the eco system, etc, he sell the idea to the entire people of Ogoni to have a platform called MOSOP - Movement for the Survival of Ogoni People. He coordinated their efforts, sought for international support. But Gen. Abacha was bent on destroying anything that would interrupt his petro-dollar.

Ogoni oil have been locked up since 1993 till date. They might not have achieved much but they're perfect example of how we need to take our destiny into our hands. And achieve it none violently even in the face of increasing intimidation.

LIVE ON, KEN SARO WIWA

LONG LIVE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA!!!

I think you've got this wrong on many levels . I have read a lot about the war, watched first hand interviews of the major participants and my father was a captain in the Biafran army and has told a lot about it. I still have letters my father wrote to my mother from the war front so I can authoritatively tell you I know a thing or two about the times. Ojukwu was a man of peace. Ojukwu actually wanted Nigeria to remain one but he was not about to sacrifice his people to Northern domination in other to keep Nigeria one. The Aburi agreement which Gowon and Ojukwu signed was meant to run Nigeria as a confederation where nobody could dominate another but the greedy northerners and their lust to control the economic and political life of Nigeria led to war. Ojukwu did not fire the first shot either. As for the people of the south-South such as Ken Saro-Wiwa who fought against Biafra, what happened later? All the oil wells in the south-South are now owned by northerners. The south-South people have been bled dry because they wanted Nigeria and Ojukwu has long been vindicated. The people of the South-south jumped from the frying pan of Biafra straight into the hellfire of Nigeria because of people like Saro-Wiwa. As for Awolowo, this man came to Enugu and told a large crowd of Igbos that should the eastern people pull out of Nigeria,Yorubas would follow suit. Just like a typical Yoruba man who cannot be trusted,he chickend out and took a plum job in Gowons cabinet from where he orchestrated the economic strangulation of the easterners. Maybe Ojukwu was stubborn and high handed but I have no doubt he meant well. War situations are not normal. Saro-Wiwa paid the price for not being wise enough to see that the war to keep Nigeria one was actually a war to take over the oil of Niger-Delta people by the northerners. He was more concerned about Igbo domination not realising that he was making the situation worse by adding northerners and their Yoruba cohorts to the list. Today, the Niger-Delta people are in an even bigger prison than they were in the eastern region, even with a south-South president. Saro-Wiwa paid with his life for not knowing who his real enemy was.

@Ymodulus, are you high on something or you are suffering from partial amnesia? Gen. Mohammadu Buhari was serving in the illegitimate autocratic govt of Gen. Sani Abacha when Kenule Saro Wiwa was murdered through the instrument of govt. Gani Fawehinmi fought tooth and nail to save him. Saro Wiwa made that speech when all Gani's plea fell on deaf ears. If your Buhari have enough decorum to fight for human right ( oh! I forgot he even raped our democratic institution and pissed on our collective sensibility when he robbed the whole nation at gun point), he would've resigned in protest at the killing of Ogoni 9 without allowing them to enjoy the right to appeal. It's so funny that Barr. Dawodu (rewarded with president of NBA?) who now screams to high heaven about injustice in Nigeria was govt lawyer at the killing of Ken.
I ask one question. How is Buhari so comfortable among the hordes of APC (if his incorruptibility is to be believed).

History will never forgive those that killed our modern day prophets, men driven by their conscience and consciousness.

Ken Saro-wiwa you indeed stand in the sands of time as one of the few Noble men that ever walked the face of this country.

Vain men can not comprehend it,it is too far for them to reach.

History will always remember you as a courageous fighter for truth and Justice,a hero of the people.

God bless your soul for the inspiration and sacrifice.

Only the truth can set Nigeria free, not religious hypocrisy-the more Nigerians embrace truth, the better we will live.

Ken Saro Wiwa was all about politics, dirty, mean spirited, and opportunistic politics. A man who betrayed his own people, sabotaged his fellow eastern Nigerians because he erroneously thought that all the oil in that part of the World belonged to him, and him alone, not even his fellow Ogoni leaders who had a slightly different opinion as him.
You should see how he proudly heralded his crossing over to join the Nigerian army and helped them take PH, because the 'Igbos had disrespected him for too long'
The Hausa soldiers and their Yoruba companions would swiftly bring every thing his heart desired to light. He worshipped Awo, OBJ, Danjuma, Murtala, and a little diminutive officer called Abacha------and the rest is history.
An eloquent speaker, Ken was a poor historian, he should have learnt from Afonja in Illorin and his next door neighbor Adaka Boro who paid the ultimate price for sabotage.
Ken Saro Wiwa and his ilk are pieces of shi...t that needed to be flushed down the toilet sooner rather than later.

Heard many tales about how Awolowo promised the Igbo he would lead the Yorubas out of Nigeria in the event of the Igbos leaving, but none have been able to tell me how Awolowo was going to be able to that as a civilian who not only does not control a troop but then, was just released from an incarceration which no doubt would have decimated even his political stronghold.

Besides the legendary hatred for Awolowo by some quarters which, is usually spurious and baseless, its also difficult to see why in the 21st century Nigeria, we cannot discuss issues without spewing hatred and derogatory remarks about other tribes. What on earth would have warranted remarks such as ''Just like a typical Yoruba man who cannot be trusted''.....Some cannot help but remain slaves to the debauchery of their depraved minds...

Oh please,Awolowo was parading himself as the leader of the Yoruba people and probably rightfully was. The only thing standing in his way of pulling the west out of Nigeria where a few thousand illiterate soldiers in Ikeja Barrak led by Gowon and Murutala who were more or less surrounded by the majority Yorubas. I will never know why a man like Awolowo who knew how northern soldiers and civilians alike were murdering easterners in such gruesome ways as decapitations and disembowelment could turn around and think "people capable of such depravity are just exactly the right people for the Yorubas to be in the same nation" Was this man thinking straight at the time? He could have gone underground and made a declaration urging the Yoruba people to seize Lagos ,arrest Gowon and Murutala and declare the Oduduwa nation. Instead,he did what all the other leaders of the time except Ojukwu did. He accepted Northern domination. As for my saying that the typical Yoruba man cannot be trusted,we Igbos and Yorubas share the same sentiments about each other,it's nothing new.

NOT SO MY FRIEND,
Ken-saro wiwa did not joined the Nigeria's side to truncate "the just biafran struggle" out of frustration for the appointment of Phillip Effiong as secretary to the biafran government. They were friends even before the war. NOTE: Phillip Effiong was made secretary to the Biafran government as a desperate attempt to capture the south south (through Cross Rivers and present day Akwa Ibom) to the sea and the Atlantic ocean or gain their sympathy by Ojukwu. Food supply have been cute off by then and they need food, medical attention, more sophisticated weapons to the den gun they were using and access to some foreign country that were sympathetic with the their course. Don't forget that even at this point, there were some few world figure that believed in the Biafran course. Secondly, it was a reconciliatory efforts to gain his already angered friend (Phillip Effiong) who felt let down by Ojukwu for not taking his advice or take him to confidence.

By this time however, Ken-saro wiwa was already in the winning team, the Nigerian side. If Ojukwu had captured the Niger delta, he would have won the war. He want to use the water way to access Lagos.

In any serious nation world wide, history like that of the nigeria civil war are thought in schools (and are found in their school curriculum) for their younger or unborn generation to know where they are coming from, learn some lessons from their past good and bad experiences and plan for the days ahead. Its only a joking nation with questionable intentions that ignored its history or pretend about it.

Yes, the south south were deceived to believe that we are one. Remember, it was during the civil war that they gave off their derivative formula in support of the strong central government to fun the war with the hope and promise of getting it back and getting a better Nigeria of their dreams. What happened after the war is story for the gods. Today, the south is still bagging for a mere 25% derivation but who will give them?? They sold it out to monsters.

The regrets of supporting the war (against their south east sister), the betrayal, the killing of their sons and daughters, the destruction of their land and sea -- their sources of livelihood and feelings of marginalization and silent ecological war rages across the southern (Niger delta) part of the country today.

It is now a matter of struggle for the national cake, but did anyone care that cake are baked in oven (in fierce heat)? The oven is located at the heart of the Niger delta. They suffer the heat. It's a peculiar heat, it burns all aquatic life, it burns the land/soil, it burns the air. Reducing life span of almost everything. They die to keep the soul of Nigeria economy running.

Now, there sons and daughters are there. Any difference?? Hell no. Its like the story of the hungry vulture in the desert -- they keep hope alive but hope never live. What killed hope?? Is it selfishness and greed, corruption, lack of sincere leaders, lack of true patriots with honest democratic principle, lack of vision, how strong is the 'one Nigeria's' foundation to accommodate our questionable marriage and diversity?? I leave that for you to judge.

GOD BLESS NIGERIA!!!

God has already over-blessed nigeria. Its injustice n falsehood dt is keepin it down.until we face them n root them out naija ll not enjoy those blessings.I am irritated @ d plight of d niger-delta n the easterners.hwever if ken n others like elechi amadi n other niger deltans had pitched their tent wit biafra to face a common foe,it wld hav bn better for all.the battle they refused to fight in the 60s is now consuming their descendants n the enemy has become stronger n more viscious.ken n elechi amadi boasted in their books n public statements dt they killed biafra.THEY DENIED OTHERS JUSTICE BUT WANT JUSTICE FOR THEMSELVES.THEY HELPED NORTH TO KILL IGBOS N THE NORTH TURNED TO ANNIHILATE THEM. GOD DOES NOT SLEEP.

I'm always overwhelmed by the diatribes from the igbos against The Great Kenule Beeson Saro-Wiwa, Ken as you all know was a highly intelligent man, at such, he foresaw the greeds of the Igbo and decided to fight for his people.

Of course he could have avoided the execution be he refused, he wanted to see it to the very end something the so called ojukwu couldn't do, he absconded after sacrificing he's fellow igbos out of greed, and later came back to be revered by the same igbos.

Read about Saro-Wiwa, he was prophetic and the struggles continue. As for biafra, it's as good as a forgotten story.

You mentioned a clueless president and ended up giving us high profile looters as his replacement. This is crap in it's purest form. PDP/APC and their members are crooks of the highest order. No need for me to dig into classified files to actually know that tinubu is a crook while GMB is only a power starved individual. what is the difference between APC and PDP when any crook from both side can switch places without much stress. if abacha survived i'm sure he would be in APC. i hate lies! i hate GEj,GMB, and their band of looters. nairaland is always swarming with PDP and APC's disinfo agent. i hate y'all!

From various posts and the action of Philip Umeadi during the trial, one can say that the IGBOS were happy that Ken was killed because of his role in the Abandoned property issue. My take is that igbos instead of blaming Ken should be bold enough to tell the whole world how cordial was their relationship with other ethnic groups around them before the war.The question is,have they been given the abandoned property after the demise of Ken?

...and to see that it is the likes of thug Asari that speaks on behalf of the ND is mind boggling!
"Na our oyel" mentality have made the majority of the youths lazy and indolent, always waiting on gratification from mischievous politicians.

Ken Saro wiwa is an epitome example of how a country and its government should not let a foreign company exploit them all in the name of Oil, money. Its a trajectory case of an economic prophet seeing the harm a non indeginous company can wreck on indigenes of the location where the company So-Sits.

While I never knew Ken saro wiwa. Having x-rayed his non-violent campaign and struggle for light for his people and the way he his not been imortalised. I am soo worried and had to ask myself several questions about PDP , APC, Nigerian Masses

1. Has Jonathan read about Ken's history?
2. If yes then why has he not used this opportunity to effect change and actualize that goal Ken Saro Wiwa wanted. Why has he failed to realized that this is the time he needs to look beyond Umbrellized covering, so as to do something great for his nation
3. Why has the People Democratic Party not made shell face up for its crimes? Even the united state in 2009 made shell faced for the court for ken saro wiwa killings

Looking at ken saro wiwa struggle and the way he was killed, coupled with the fact that the Nigerian leaders had Saro Wiwa and his movement sentenced to death without option of Appeal all for money, I am troubled that A PROGRESSIVE WILL NEVER RULE THIS NATION

KEN SARO WIWA was a true progressive like GENERAL MUHAMMAD BUHARI. Ken was recognized, valued and cherished by the international community at larged, same way General Muhammad Buhari, Tinubu, Fashola have been worshipped and valued by the international communities.

For a country whose oil resources could have lead it to become one of the wealthiest in Africa, the Niger Delta region remains an impoverished conflict zone and is still dominated by the transnational oil companies which continue to pollute the area’s water and resources.

The memory and the courageous efforts of Ken Saro-Wiwa would live on. I know if he was alive he would have been a member of the All Progressive Congress. Sir Ken, i would like to tell you that even at your death you are already a member. Saro wiwa I love you. But the APC Progressives love you most.

Fellow Nairalanders, the story of ken saro wiwa is a valid reason as to why we need to vote APC to power come 2015. Let me live you with the modified words of a heroic progressive by name Chinua Nkelom Achebe

"There was a progressive" - Albert Chinualumogu Achebe.

Did he or did he not commit the offense he was accused of? You guys should have your facts right before you allow sentiments and not reason guide your words. He was guilty and the law was oblivious of his many virtues.

Saro Wiwa didn't have the ability to avoid the execution, if you went through his songs that i took time to post here, you would have found out that he died a man with many regrets, his cup was full.

Wiwa wasn't prophetic, he was shortsighted, but he was wise enough to realize his mistakes, but alas,it was too late for him.

Biafra died a still birth, but the Biafra question still remains un answered, And for all it's worth, your group is not faring better in the one Nigeria you fought for, than Ndiigbo.

.... Igbo have more stake than Urhobo in SS.. Hahahahahahaha hahahah hahahahaha hahahah..
Pls do u knw hw many urhobo have ruled delta ?
Who was the 1st midwestern gov. ?
When OBJ and PDP wanted to give the post of Vice president to N.delta it was an Urhobo man tat they 1st nominated in the person of IBORI bt ibori rejected tat vice president post saying it was too small 4 SS so that y they pick GEJ tat y they call him the lucky man.. So u can see here tat they recognise the urhobo more than ur fucking igbo or any tribe.. And du u knw tat all the infrastructure in delta state re all located in Urhobo land[we re blessed with everything*refinery, federal uni of pet and gas, ploy,PTI and so so many tins] .. The urhobo re d 5th largest ethnic group in Nigeria point of Correction with a total population of more than 3million plus..

And let discuss abt the isoko which u always me to educate you abt.. The isokos re a dialect of of the urhobo.. During the 1950's the isoko re referred to as eastern Urhobo.. It was awolowo who gave the isoko as a tribe because the urhobos didn't vote 4 him as a premier in the western house in ibadan so e did tat to pay the urhobos.. And we never beg them to be part of us.. Pls do more research and confirm what i js told you..

Pls am nt tat tribalistic lyk u oyibos

Really? you take glorly in Urhobo marginalization of other ethnic groups in Delta state, is that how you intend to run the Niger delta republic, you were talking about? on injustice and inequitable distribution of resources and infrastructures? and you wonder why the Isokos resisted your hegemony tendency with every fibre of their being?

For your info, Isoko was always distinct from Urhobo, the Colonials recognized this distinctness from the beginning, they called the Urhobos 'Sobos' and the Isokos 'Igabo'.

As for the rest of the things you wrote there, i don't really think they deserve a reply.
