Somchisom & Shawbabe,

You can drive overseas with the new driver's licence, because your DL number is in the FRSC database and can be easily confirmed by the law enforcement authorities in the US, if need be. However, you can only drive with it for no more than three (3) months. If you plan to drive longer than that in the US, you should apply for the International Driver's licence. It used to be in paper form, but it's now made in plastic. It costs N10,000, I think. I would advise that you use the new driver's licence instead tho', because rumor has it that the international driver's licence is not in the FRSC database. How true this is, I don't know. I will confirm this rumor to be sure sha.

I have given up trying to reason with you, you seems to have something else in mind. Next time you are banned try looking at your profile to know exactly who banned you.

@Justwise....like Weaseloo said early...you clearly don't understand or you choose not too.....

You are not obliged to reason with me cause I absolutely don't owe you anything for doing that....and Yes I checked my profile and nobody in particular was mentioned, I mentioned your name because its you I know to be one of the moderators on this forum...by the way....never mind! but i will advice you to calm down and be fair to all....no hard feelings

@babyf2012, @Mrsfad2014....I feel you ladies on the "being tagged as a marketer or an advertiser....Anyways, no big deal...it only hurts when you genuinely want to help and when you see some post on the thread that looks exactly like what you wrote and the next minute you are banned for 24hours.....I can bet you most people here are not currently preggy eg myself...I only come to share experience and offer a hand where i feel it is necessary but hey....truth be told I have met some very nice people on this particular thread, who also got scared of being tagged but have a lot to share....hence they take it off the thread leaving a wider range of people not gaining from what it is intended to do....

@justwise...I am not a marketer neither am I an advertiser, but I will advice you to be fair to one and all......

Cheers

Next time you are banned have a look at your profile to know exactly who banned you so as to know how to direct your complain, not only mods that ban members here. justwise did not ban you because of your post as you claimed.

Antispam bot banned you for 24hrs but you refused to acknowledge that fact.

The new drivers licence has not been updated in the US drivers licence database and as such you cannot drive or rent a car with it. The only acceptable one is the old licence this isnt expired.

also, be careful when getting the International drivers licence, i tried to get one some time ago and didnt notice that i was give an international drivers permit which cannot be used to rent a car in the US.

i am sure this will help someone

Pls help me o. When a corper is applying for visa, should she fill employed or unemployed and give reasons

By law, Youth corpers are not allowed to travel out of the country in the period of their service. so the probability of getting a US visa is very very low.

My people,
Have your heard, obama has announced the new immigration reform that allows parents of children born in US, lived in the US for 5yrs etc to remain n US and get work permits.

I am thinking, I hope this will not affect the chances of getting visas for preggies wanting to go and give birth in US because automatically, they will assume you want to beat the system and take advantage of the amnesty program.

I think we should have this information handy and prepare a good defense as this US embassy people can start denying preggies using this as an excuse o!

My fellow mamas. My visa was denied again so I shall be bowing out of the team american baby race.

I was also thinking Canada but the process and fees is quite cumbersome. But if anyone knows how to go about it I am willing to listen.

So sorry to hear that Rali, God knows best. Remember he knows the end from the beginning and has allowed this to happen for a reason. Canada won't be a bad idea, let's see if any of the mamas in the house can assist.
