Hello everyone, I am currently on f2 visa in US and got admission for spring so I need to change to f1 to be able to enrol for classes. I applied online for the change of visa status but the wait time till approval is like 2.5 month which will put me at the middle of february and classes starts January 12. I am thinking, should I travel back to naija to change my visa status to f1? what are my chances of approval if I come to naija for the visa interview since I already applied via the online elis uscis? should I just wait in the state for the visa approval since some people get their f1 approval even before its 2.5 month? PLS I NEED YOUR ADVICE
you need to wait for USCIS approval. go to your school international office and talk to them. as long as you have a current process, you need to wait for USCIS decision. chances of getting F1 visa is so slim if you decide to come back to nigeria, its a game of luck. just wait for USCIS

thank you for the reply, am so pressed right now, thinking of what to do is really a big deal for me right now. I will wait to hear what my department will be willing to do.

Pls anyone with f2 to f1 should share more, thanks

Hey guys , we make one mistake by not posting the cost of tution for the university we want to attend, u dont rely on interview scripts alone when trying to help others, we should also help post cost of tuition, school location, etc.but ur names u may not expose onhere and other personal details for safety/security reasons. u ll ask why?

Tell if two people aply to different universities on different locations, lets say mr A applied to the university of Texas and got admission and was granted visa at the embassy seeing the tuition is about $40,000 and texas happens to be a dangerous place for people/ visitors. natural disaster where visitors/people avoid. but mR A was granted visa

Now mr B applies to the University of Newyork where u have good weather , no or less natural disasters likely to occur in that area but with less tuition of about $7,000 , now the embassy here refuses to grant mr B visa

A and B did not apply to red flag schools and both have good documentation

i may not have used a good exaple here but i m saying to you guys to provide more evidence here so that we can make good /right judgement based on evidence provided so as to help others planing on going there to study.

its unfair to spend much moneyand some long process and at the end of the day they deny people visa

What you posted is good but dont forget that this can work for those people whose parents can afford tuition worth over $30,000 and have enough money compare to $7,000 but people still need to research for themselves my brother. Even in educationUSA they will ask you to research schools that suit your life styles in terms of sports, curricular activities, environment e.t.c.

I am sure that you are not even happy that they mentioned the name of their school..

Haven't you read transcript that the person will say xyz university Some even hide the name of their school maybe they dont want Nigeria to come there.. grin grin grin grin grin grin

This is my research for those who wanted to amend/update their new ds160 confirmation after they have booked appointment. TESTED AND CONFIRMED

You can update your ds160 confirmation yourself now without sending email to the U.S. embassy that is you can now update it yourself but this is only applicable to applicant who already booked appointment already and wanted to amend or update his/her new ds160 confirmation but be ready to loose the interview date you already booked.

Procedure

1, Cancel your appointment date that you already booked

2, Click on New Application/Schedule Appointment

3, Follow the steps

4, You insert your new ds160 confirmation when following the steps

5, Continue until you get to where you will book appointment date.

N.B ------ You might be lucky to get your date back (i mean the date you canceled) but i am not assuring you of getting it back because it depend on their system

Maybe peepz on here should just sit and think deeply before answering or replying any post here....You are in US atm doesn't mean you know it all..some people just reply shabbily on another persons super-eminent post...and this make those who have reasonable questions or suggestions to void away just to avoid embarassmnt...

@zeezabeh or whatever...check and re-read @kwenu's post..he wasn't talking about been lazy to search for school. He was just elaborating on tuition fee ish and location....Mr A with a very high tuition can be granted a visa while Mr B with an extremely and extorbitanly low tuition can be denied...and he said maybe this can be helpful to others if we can disclose our tuition ...I strongly agree with him..even if I don't, I will just tryna say/chip in my own suggestion NOT to insult him like u did...and you always do this (rubbishing other peepz post) on countless time..even to @dotman2460
This forum is to help NOT to criticize people's post....I don't know this @kwenu guy from Adam but he posted a very good suggestion which u misinterpreted

edbid, thank you. I was waiting for someone to reply him. he is obviously one of those asking people to give them names of school and can not take time to search. one man food is another man poison, people choose their school of choice according to their pocket, location and all other factor. There are thousands of schools in USA and you have the right to chose. if he needs to know the price and location, he should use google
This is just too harsh..do you even think or have feelings before you reply a post?

Hi house. I think it's just one payment for one for interview schedule. you cancel you pay again to reschedule. I tried cancelling for the first time and got a warning that I would have exceeded the allowed limit if I go ahead and would have to pay MRV fee to reschedule. Ensure you pay attention to every detail on the screen.

Hello house. Please come to my rescue. I'm also a prospective student, and looking forward to fall. I'm going for masters in public health. I have got my test score result,322. But my gpa is 2.89. I'm praying the schools I have in mind can still consider me,based on that gpa,cos I was anticipating scholarship or financial aids. I have good SOP,and letter of recommendation, buh I'm not happy with my gpa. I do know considering one by these schools is a holistical process, buh I equally know that there are still schools that will be willing to grant financial aids, going by my test scores. Please assist me with schools.
