That's the problem.Owner of the laptop is not even giving me any info on previous activity before BSOD.Hard disk ain't full. I'm suspecting a new driver or the ventilator. Early this cold harmattan morning, I noticed the fan blowing forcefully (hot air) while my laptop which I left on overnight was even silent.

Hmmm, OK so try cleaning the vents and see if it changes. If that fail maybe clean OS install maybe the last card.

I checked the panel of the CPU and saw two units of 256mb ram. So i decided to take the 1 gb from my old CPU and install it with this one.

But each time i plug it in and turn it on, it displays nothing.

But if inserted along side one of the 256mb ram(due to the 2 slots available), it only displays a black and white intermittently.

plz help me out 2days ago i update my windows 7 but i noticed after d update my desktop background suddenly changed to black nd at the right hand side a msg is displaying telling me windows not geniune. i was told to format it but i don't want to. i av sum data on it i can't recover again even if i av backup! plz help me wat do i do.

This Hp model has a recovery partition that is used to reset the system in the
event of a virus or a system failure. Could you click start, computer

and reply back with what's on the screen , for example, C: Recovery D
DVD. what's on your list ? Additionally Could I ask you to click start and type

into the box recovery. if you can see recovery, I'd advise you not to join the
partition together. Moving on to display issues, click start, computer
system properties and look fo rintel , it should be there.

Can you also see windows is not genuine or it is genuine ?

Where did you bought your laptop/desktop or windows 7 from ?

Your copy of windows is not genuine, i.e. fake copy.

If you can get into windows save your data on an
external usb drive and get an original copy of windows.

I may not be of help but that's the truth, moreover I would
have been of help if I am a nigeria resident. The advice have give is
the correct one. Therefore, look for adetwin, onegig or zyzxx on this forum , they
would offer a chargeable service. I have using computer since I was 6yrs old
and know the inside and out of a computer. Do it the rightway don't
get cracks, it wouldn't be of help.

The memory modules are not compatible, if you need to upgrade either use only the 1gb module or get a 2gb module.

The windows update nullified the activation.

He needs to purchase or find a genuine windows key before it would work. He should send me a pm.

pls gurus in the house....my toshiba laptop suddenly developed a screen problem. there is an horizontal line dividing the screen into two parts. the upper part is ok but the lower part of the screen is flickering with different colours. i tried posting a screen shot here but it seems the screen short is not able to capture the defect, in order words when i posted it here and viewed with my phone....the screen capture looked normal.

Maybe virus.

Do you have other computer? Copy one of the files and try and open it on another computer. If it doesnt open there-your office program is corrupt-if it opens-the problem is completely with your first computer.

You might just need to re-install ur office programs.

yes....i even did a system restore all to no avail.
before it became a permanent problem....i first noticed it happened once but the screen became normal after reboot. Right now, the line and flickering has remained. Its windows 8

It actually slipped off my laps while I was chattin ever since then it as continued to show only Starting windows.

i suspect the wire connection..prolly maybe the connection aint intake with the internal HDD...
