Prof Yemi Osibanjo is a man I respect so much. he is an academic and intellectual juggernaut as well as legal Icon. I have attended a couple of events where he has given speeches and I always marvel at the depth of his knowledge and ease of presentation.

However I have to say I am not sure how prof Osibanjo will add anuthjng to the buhari ticket politically. I love the man but I think he is a nobody politically. APC just gave GEJ all the votes in the south south and south east because they will surely not want power to shift completely away from their side even if they don't like Jonathan.

Life and career

He was born in Lagos State, Nigeria into the family of the late Sir. Adeyemi. He obtained a Bachelor of Law, LL.B from the University of Lagos, an and a Master of law, LL. M from the London School of Economics. Osibanjo is an Erudite scholar and motivational speaker who has held some leadership position.[2] Between 1988 to 1991, he was the Special Advisor to the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.[3][4] He later joined the services of the University of Lagos where he became a professor of Public law and was appointed as the Head of Department of Public Law in 1997, a position he held for 2 years (1997-1999).[5] After his tenure in 1999, he was immediately appointed as the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Lagos State under the administration of senator Bola Tinubu, who is now the National Leader of the All Progressive Congress, APC Osibanjo held this position for 8 years, until the end of his tenure in 2007.[6] He his the chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT) of Redeemer's University[7] and a solicitor to the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi on the suits against Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.[8][9]

On December 17 2014, he was nominated as the All Progressive Congress, APC running mate of General Muhammadu Buhari for the 2015 Presidential Election.

There are many reasons why the choice of buhari as the flag bearer is wrong. Before I continue I must say this, 4 years ago I VOTED for him. So here are my points why he is not ideal for Nigeria;
1. Buhari is a little younger than my Grandfather. I don't hold that against him but a disconnect exists and it is an issue. Especially since the majority of the population are classified as "youths". Any progressive youth won't vote for him.
2. He is a staunch supporter of the Islamic agenda for the propagation of sharia Law.

3. He brought down a democratically elected Government

4. His CPC supporters rioted and killed several NYSC Corp members after he lost his last attempt for Aso rock. I was upset and waited for his response, ask yourself how and when did he respond.

5.He didn't condemn or calm down his CPC supporters as they burnt, rioted and murdered people. But to be fair on Buhari, I think he later condemned the riots after a long delay and again, he can't be held responsible if he didn't give the orders.

6. His new party is filled with Muslims and he being a staunch supporter of sharia tells me what to expect from his Government
