Update 24 December 21:10pm On Monday 22nd, the field officer was able to accompany Hamed to Lakeshore Cancer Center in Victoria Island. Registration at the hospital and Consultations with the oncologist were done and some tests were prescribed to identify the source of the malignancy. It is instructive to state that we now have two doctors working with us behind the scenes helping via email to make sense of the tests and recommended treatments. Also LCC does not admit patients. The oncologist has recommended he continue the drug regimen for abdominal TB in the meantime at the Life Specialist where he is being stabilised. We intend to do a Laparoscopy to have a clearer picture and we are working on that The following hospitals were contacted 1. Reddington - No response as they said they with only provide a quote upon referral 2. HCG -an Indian hospital too was contacted but the opinion of the consulting doctors is that chemotherapy and the treatment plan recommended may not be beneficial for the patient 3. Paelon Memorial - they are fully booked for the year. 4. Eko Hospital- they don't perform such a procedure 5. AVLSC was contacted but they are fully booked. Hamed is at Life Specialist and will be there over the XMas period If you are chanced, he will appreciate your prayers and visits. Once we are informed due to the hospital protocol, the field officer can facilitate a visit Also please for those who are able, keep the donations coming in as the necessary tests and the operation to determine the growth seen will most likely be done in the new year. Hmmm.....so we are following the recommendation of the bandit hospital. Mark my words....LCC would do nothing to cure Hamed but everything to bleed as much funds as possible. Did we really think about #2? Who recommended Hamed be given chemo?...on what grounds?...or is this now a guessing game?...the HCG people are against it and even say it is not good for Hamed....but yet we firge ahead along the same path. Tests and tests without end.....amen. |

Re: RIP DJDOLA- We Will Miss You by Originalsly: 6:37am On Dec 25, 2014 |
aboki2000:He shoud be taken to the Indian run medical centre in Lagos to be diagnosed. Since when swelling of the stomach is a symptom of cancer? The oncologist knows he is community funded......the end result will be the same as those who steered Hamed to him.....or worse. |
Re: RIP DJDOLA- We Will Miss You by gbadexy(m): 7:04am On Dec 25, 2014 |
Why not take him to the HCG indian hospital directly. |

Re: RIP DJDOLA- We Will Miss You by Originalsly: 3:37pm On Dec 25, 2014 |
If the TEAM OF SPECIALISTS at HCG ruled out the recommended chemotheraphy and treatment plan....why are we spending and waiting for this oncologist to run up bills to declare the same? Do we really believe that he has better equipment and knows more than the team? If he does then he should already have a diagnosis. We need to look first before we leap....we already leap before looking and are doing the same again....hoping again to land on sand instead of rocks. |
Re: RIP DJDOLA- We Will Miss You by pickabeau1: 3:59pm On Dec 25, 2014 |
Originalsly: You are not listening The consulting doctors that are helping the team ruled out the sugeested treatment plan by the Indian hospital. It is their belief it is not in the patient's best interest Is it clear now |
Re: RIP DJDOLA- We Will Miss You by Originalsly: 4:48pm On Dec 25, 2014 |
pickabeau1:My bad...it is clear now...guess I mistook HCG for the Indian medical centre or whatever in Lagos. Why not go there for a diagnosis?...if not he needs to be flown abroad to be properly diagnosed instead of all these so called experts experimenting with him. |

Please try MECURE for proper diagnosis. It's an Indian diagnostic centre. Some OAU, UCH doctors send patients there for tests in complex cases. They are at Oshodi with branches at Lekki phase 1and Ibadan. They have modern equipment. You can run some comprehensive tests without direct doctors referral especially in this case where a second opinion is badly needed. Meanwhile compliments of the season to you DJdola! May you be delivered from all these problems, may you arise and shine again by God's grace. 1 Like |

Now I have to talk. Chemotherapy is outdated, toxic and kills patients faster than cancer, cheap hospitals use it to bleed patients dry. There are better more effective cancer treatment especially at his stage because even without tests I can safely guess stage 2 or early 3, I am not a doctor but I have plenty personal cancer experience. Let us gather what is left and send this guy to India. I know for a fact that with good treatment and management even stage 3 cancer can be painlessly treated. Before the prayer warriors and refectors gather and crucify me I know what am saying. And besides why have they been hiding the news from the patient? What kind of crude medicine do we practice? Is the patient not supposed to be the first to know? Is it not his body! Should he not know and condition his heart and mind for what is to come? I beg in the name of God dont let chemo poison this man 4 Likes 2 Shares |

l did suggest the same thing. he should be flown to india already for effective treatment. l doubt if anything tangible can be done here. just pallatives at best without cure. Embarking on chemo here suggests intention of treating the patient here which i dont think is a good idea. HCG hospital also shared the same sentiment about the cancer. hospital's treatment method here. |

gbadexy: HCG in India suggested chemo Read Our doctors here said it is not the best |

aisha2:Okay my Sister do you know any hospital where the cancer of the people you know was successfully treated? Please mention so we can try contact the hospital. BTW I know chemo is harsh. To me it seems the one used in Nigeria is the harsher (just my observation). But radiation therapy is also an option for cancer treatment. r231 am wondering why HCG should say the recommended treatment plan would not be okay for the patient. Am shocked at this statement. Does it imply that they cant treat the patient or what? I'm just confused. Because I know people with worse case scenerio being successfully treated at HCG. Or do they need specific test results because for now what are they going to treat? Cancer of what? stage what? 1 Like |
