UPDATE!!!

Following on from the our last update regarding DJ’s referral to a specialist oncologist, he was subsequently instructed to do more test so as to ascertain type and stage of cancer if any. Unfortunately we weren’t able to carry out the tests due to the holiday season. They are now scheduled week commencing 5th Jan.

In light of the above unplanned logistic challenges, Hammed has requested to be discharged from the hospital as he is increasingly unease about the idleness that comes with sitting in an hospital environment.

TeHN is not in support of his line of action and we’ve discussed it with him. However, the hospital are comfortable with the decision and have instructed he continues the TB medication.

Thank you for your continuous support and Happy new year to each and every one of you

Regards

I will put your wife in my prayers and you too, because you need to be strong and keep your faith as difficult as it may be right now.
God knows all and you are not alone. He is with you always.
Remember Deuteronomy 31:6
His wife will slowly come back to be hail and hearty again, she will overlive her enemies. As a child, people had given up hope that I will survive, except God and my mum. But I'm moving to 40 now. What's impossible with God? I know a way to God~rejoice as you wait for Him.

Thanks for the update but please......modify the post by either deleting all the medical reports or the entire link . Why post someone's confidential information?

I don't even know anything about the report, I am seeing it the way you too are seeing it, I think the owner of the thread or mod are the only one that can remove such.

Sorry...my bad. Then the moderator or whoever is very irresponsible.

@originalsy.
We tried to raise funds for the late Amina. We presented medical reports as the practice to avoid being labeled a scam. The sister passed.

Your observation and suggestions to take the reports down are noted however you never showed any concern in the thread itself and accused the OP of being irresponsible. I do not believe that this is a fair judgement.
It will be nice if you can modify your post. The OP was notified after your initial post to take the medical reports down then I saw this follow up post.
Kinda confusing as to what your intents are

l did suggest the same thing. he should be flown to india already for effective treatment.
l doubt if anything tangible can be done here. just pallatives at best without cure.
Embarking on chemo here suggests intention of treating the patient here which i dont think is a good idea. HCG hospital also shared the same sentiment about the cancer. hospital's treatment method here.

My heart sank when I didn't see this thread on the top after being gone a while

Exactly the same thing I have been saying
I read that they have already contacted a reliable hospital in India, good move
What I don't understand is anyone questioning their choice of treatment including chemo
Arrangements should be made for this young man to be flown out for whatever course of treatment his treating doctors recommend
I believe God has given this man a long time and that is why he is still here
Let us seize this opportunity now that we have it
Any time wasted in any nigerian hospital is not working to his favor
If DJ was my brother I would have borrowed money to send him to India a long time ago to get any further tests and definitive diagnosis and treatments there . if I had the means I would have done this for him.
Precious time is being lost with these testings that will only get repeated when he gets to someone who will treat him.
Tests don't cure illnesses
There are enough pointers as far back as several weeks ago that this is a malignancy and it should be treated as such in terms of urgency,
His last doctors recommended oncology after his ct scan, that should alert us of the urgency
People are not sent to oncologists for anything other than cancer as the most likely differential diagnosis
Maybe Tehns is not reading between the lines
His doctors strongly suspect cancer from what has been said so far

Please you guys should stop pushing this idea of flying him to India as if it's the "be all end all" solution. Thankfully, DJ has so far been responding to treatments according to recent reports from the TEHN folks. I'm sure they would have considered all the viable alternatives. Give Naija doctors a break please.

When it is not your time, you will beat it

Nigeria has no good cancer treatment and follow up center, truth be told
See how long it has taken this young man to get a definitive diagnosis and still there isn't one
Your own politicians are going to India and flying their families there, that should tell you something
Unfortunately optimism is not enough
If it were,I would be a size 10 with a flat tummy

I don't intend to turn this to another long, back and forth argument thing.

I guess my point is that nothing is "guaranteed" and India is not exactly the "modern medicine haven" that you are making it out to be either. When the consensus was that TEHN should take over the case, it means we all trust their judgements and so far, DJ is way much better and there's no evidence of a relapse. What more could we possibly wish for?

I missed that report
Please could you quote it
I said India because it is easier and cheaper for a sick person to get a medical visa to India from Nigeria than the USA my first choice
You are making assumptions that are not on any of my posts

If you get to Fortis hospital in Bangalore and they say your case is hopeless,a doctor in America will tell you the same
They are that good and experienced about what they do for a fraction of what that same treatment will cost you in the USA
I have testimonials of people I know personally
Precious time is being lost,I am repeating it
Time is of the essence
Let us not gather here and wish we did things a bit differently

Morning all. Fitst time i saw this post i got interested cos cos ive been affected n still grappling with similar sinister disease. Oga Santino1 i will address your post by 1st praying for you: God will not allow you see sickness or problem IJN. With the little i have read abt DJ's cases, 1 thing is clear which is no definitive diagnosis yet. So he is being misdiagnosed n getting wrong treatment. Whether u like it or not we may have doctors but not equipments or certified labs. Doctor isnt what is need now but equipment and lab specialists. Doctors come in for prognosis n treatment. All i speak is from experience. In my case, after many months of Naija doctors using me to practise n shine only 1 honest speialst confided in me n told me to head india cos no multi specialist hospital here which is definitely the case of DJ. He will spend weeks if not months to see abt 4 specialist in Niaja which i saw in few hrs in India. Pls all i think the way forward is india atleast he will get definitive diagnosis dat im sure cos ive seen with my eyes. Like babyosisi has said dis illness has elapsed a while n availed us time. Experience has showed me that no guess work in medice. I have more tales n gory experiences but i believe my point is clear now. This is my 2 cent.
