Exactly, if we are afraid of starting (or dont even want to bother to start at all), when then are we going to get out of these mess?
The whole world is leaving us behind!
Countries like Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan, e.t.c., all started about the same time Nigeria gots its own independence as well.
See where they are now and compare Nigeria to them..... despite the fact that these countries dont have a litre of "Free-Oil" to energize their economy!

Our greatest problem is CORRUPTION (which "Otuoke Professor" said is "mere stealing"!) and ANY PERSON THAT CAN TAME THAT MONSTER IS WELCOMED TO RULE THIS COUNTRY FOR SOME TIME.

Even if a "He-GOAT" can tame corruption in Nigeria, l want that ewu-Goat to rule Nigeria for four years. I dont care whether the Goat is Muslim, Christiam, Igbo, Yoruba or has a PhD in economics.
What l need now is a "strong-minded and disciplined leader".

On detailed analysis, GMB fits that profile far more than Jonathan. Period!
This is why l will chose GMB over Jonathan.
If you replace Jonathan with someone like that Cross River state Governor or Gov. Fashola, then l will chose them over GMB. Its all logic.

It's in the constitution to provide social welfare to the poor and need. BTW, we can afford to provide a meal to all primary school pupils in Naija.

Who is going to administer such a massive program?
Where will the budget for it come from? The national debt is still growing at high rate.
How will the income eligibility be determined?
How will an applicant's income level be verified?
What is to say that 100 million people will not apply and qualify?
Is there going to be an age restriction?
Will there be work/national service requirement?
What will be the effect on inflation?
Where is the infrastructure to handle it?

A program like will take inflation to historic levels and trash the already weak currency we are managing. Those who have worked and saved up will lose. It's going to be a huge and unfair redistribution of wealth. I do not support tacitly robbing Peter to pay Paul. This is all aside the brand new corruption milky way it will create for talented fraudsters and corrupt officials. Any sound economist should be disappointed by this idea, it does not solve any real problem and is fundamentally flawed.

As for one I love him for his strong input when he came in in 80s
and for his discipline not to have build mansion like his boss IBB

Take your 5000 to Kastina we are not Almajiri's. Who makes such senseless appeal, so he doesn't want to create job, he wants to give families 5000 naira, thesame thing Thiefnubuu is doing, sharing vegetable oil and rice to the people he has rendered their lives useless by aggressive taxation.

After the rice and vegetable comes another 364days of suffering and heavy taxation. APShit are filled with hypocrites especially Fashiola and Amaechi. You don't know lagos until you sit down and take account of the income generation per month in Lagos state including federal allocations and subventions, then you would know these guys are one hell of a thief.

Where is the money coming from?

if he can explain the source funds for the next 20 years only ,then i may see him as a candidate.

does this even makes sense to you? or just because you don't like GEJ everything APC says has to be the best thing u have read...I'm very eager to become an APC convert only if I can be told the economic plan of the man coming in, how he intends to tackle unemployment, attract foreign investment, his policy for internal businesses, tax plans, etc...not absolute nonsense like this one..

5000 naira for 25 million people equals 1.5 trillion naira per year. That is about 1/3 of the annual budget.

This is what buhari is promising to give to his Almajiris on the street.

Where is Buhari going to get an extra 33% of the budget to give to the poor almajiri on the street when oil prices are falling and it might be very difficult to even balance the current budget.

Yes, I got the calculations wrong. 1.5 trillion for the poorest in the land is an investment worthwhile. The kids will go to school, be immunized and young Nigerians will be trained. These people will become competent and productive citizens. They are mostly likely to avoid picking up arms against the state and can meaningfully contribute to the development of the country. I fully support this programme. Only a handful rich have had access to the country's wealth through stealing. The money stolen so far in Jonathan's adminstration alone can sustain the programme for another at 10 years.
