BWGISTdotCOM:This man na benin man? The question is, would my wife ask me to do this. I will always be in control, i can help my wife tiding thinks up in the house. Of cause there are little things a man can also do to help his wife, expecially if she also countribute to the family income, but not like this, you can help her clean the dust on the windows, tv, pack dirty cloth for lundry, play with the kids why she doing something, monitor what she is cooking, take the kids to school...this issue of bathing baby, washing cloths,backing baby is senseless. Even the petty ones, i should volunteer mysef, she dare not ask me to help her on domestic work, the day she ask me the day i stop helping her then i will get her housemaid. Of cause she should know that housemaid is threat 4 her family. |

I do the first one though I don't know how to back a kid but I bath my kids, cream them and take them to school in my car. It bonds you and the kids together. I hate house maid so my wife and I do the things together. My kids are closer to me than their mother because they tell me deep secret and their mother always feel bad. She is working but I have my own business. So I have more time with them. I don't think it is wrong for a man to do anything for his kids. I read a story how a Chinese father always backed his crippled son to trek several kilometers to school because school close by never accepted the child for his condition lo and behold, the man was rewarded heavily for his effort and the child is the best student in his school academically. The first is understandable. Possibly the wife is elsewhere busy or ill. The second is possible but in the right way; the baby should be carried in the front with hands not backed. |

Nothing special in this. Lots of men would actually like to do it but fear what people would say. If you don't look after your own children, is it a cow's kids you're going to look after? Suppose your lady has to earn the bacon, you will siddon jeje seeing the kids unkempt waiting for her to come do all too? This is 21st century. Couples have to assist each other. 1 Like |

I'm not an ijebu man so why won't I assist my wife? I can bathe d baby, feed him, change diapers and even help my wife in d kitchen, d laundry and all other domestic chores. Manliness isn't about being bossy its about commanding respect through your attitude. 2 Likes |

woky: This your opinion belongs in the 1920s! If you do it, you would be backing your own child. I have a senior friend; an engineer, an all-round big boy, and a man-after-God's-heart who has a back strap for his new born baby. I wish I could upload his pic, where he has his months-old son strapped to his upper back, to show you how proud he is, spending time with his little boys. But they are personal pics. But not to worry. Remember the saying, "Never say never"? I'm sure you would even do more when you babies start coming.  . By the time you strap your first baby on your back with a soft beautifully coloured Oja, while you run one or two errands picking a few stuffs for your beautiful wife at the vegetable market, you will understand the real meaning of LOVE; for your family.  |

what is the big deal about the pics? Are the kids not mine and is there any law that prevent me from performing domestic chores? Is it expressly stated that it is solely the duty of the women. Trust Nigerian mentality, if whites are in the habit of doing it, my people will join fray and[b] "over do it self"[/b] I think African in nature are bossy and not romantic in terms of family affairs. OP, what do you make of women who oversee the affairs of the home due to their huge income, should the woman leave the job and face the chores of the home while they struggle to manage with the peanut salary of the man whose take home can not take him home Many homes are run by the women folks and some men who are tied to their wives apron strings will say "TUFIAKA". even if we don't know you, UNA know una self. SHIKENA! In actual fact, I do this for my kids and they are dear to me than their mum. you will experience a fatherly bond. |
