I have been monitoring my ovulation on ultrasound since November. I do ovulate but I don't get pregnant. I went to my doctor to know if it's the d&c but he said it can't be as it was the sacking tube they used and it can't block the tube or cause a scar tissue. Is that true? And what could cause me to ovulate and not get pregnant

Then secondly I started my scan this month on cd 10 then on cd 12 it was 1.96 cm, cd14 was 1.8 cd 16 it had reduced in size to 1.6 and had irregular border with ET of 13.5mm. The sonographer said I had ovulated on cd 16. Am still confused does it mean it released the egg on cd 16. Because I didn't bed on cd 16 but did a day before. Please help a confused lady

Googled and saw this. I have been monitoring since cd 10 as well but my sono didn't say it has irregular border. It just said it reduced in size and told me I ovulated. Maybe I should post it here.

At cd21, your average progesterone is meant to exceed 30ng/ml. To me it's not that okay yet. The lower the progesterone level within the luteal phase, the lesser the chances of a successful implantation.

I'l advise you use the duphaston from cd12 to cd 26. That's the best period to boost your progesterone level. You can also combine the prenatal vitamins with it.

Has your husband been ruled out from the cause of your TTC delay?

Thanks so much doc.yes,mu hubby SA was fine- sp*rm count 85million, morphology 92percent normal, mortility is 97perct active etc and we've be treated for infection with rocephin injection with some other drugs. Will try duphaston dis cycle. Pls hope it won't delay my period and can I continue at d same cycle day nxt month incase things doesn't work out dis month? Thanks

"Everybody keeps telling you chocolate beverages would make your baby overyweight". You would have asked everybody if he's a specialist in human nutrition!

How on earth would beverage make your baby overweight? You consume the beverage, not your baby. The baby simply absorbs the nutrients it needs to develop fully from the placenta. Isn't it better to have an overweight baby than have an underweight? Most underweight babies hardly survive. But then, taking beverage doesn't add up significantly to the weight of the preterm.

I'd advise you rather not take any beverage with stimulant, like tea or coffee(caf or decaf). You can take cocoa made beverages.

Your hubby's sperm count, with motility, is quite high. He's very virile. So I guess the issue lies with you. Well, continue with the medication, it won't delay your period. It would rather correct the anomalies. You can continue the medication on cd12 to cd25 in your subsequent cycle.

I believe the folic acid is combined with B12(cyanocobalamin). The rest of the supplements are:

Calcium
Vitamin C
Vitamin E
And other supplements.

Hello Doc!
Am trying to conceive. Last month I ran a blood pregnancy test which came back positive but I have been having my period regularly and Infact just finished menstruation few days before I ran the test. I ran anoda test a week later and it was negative. Did a pelvic scan and dr said she found fluid outside my uterus and it cud be a gestational sac or so.
A week ago I was feeling weak, nausea etc and had missed my period which is regular 28 days so I ran anoda pregnancy test which came back positive but yesterday I started "bleeding" and it's like a period.
Could I be having very early miscarriages? What do I do? Pls HELP!

Within wat span of time did this happen?

When the test indicated a positive result, what time in the course of the pregnancy did you observe the bleeding?

Differentials include:
-Ectopic pregnancy
-Abruptio placenta
-Threatened abortion

This all happened within 2 months.
The med lab scientist said the blood test he used can't dictate how far the pregnancy have gone but the bleeding started 5 weeks after my last menstrual period.

I'll strongly think it's a case of 'threatened abortion'. A threatened abortion is a vag*nal bleeding observed in pregnancies below the gestation age of 12weeks.

Were you diagnosed of any sexually transmitted or urinary tract infections?

Were you on any strong medication prior to the advent of the first miscarriage?

No. I wasn't diagnosed of any STI or UTI and I haven't been on medication but I had staphylococcus aurues some years back which was treated with Augmentin and injections taken over a couple of days.

The Staph infection is likely the cause of the threatened miscarriage. You may have treated it years back, but the infection stil lingers asymptomatically.

That's my take!

You can run HVS m/c/s. Then you can also run pelvic scan.

Report back to me with the results.

The morning sickness is a discomfort common with primigravidae(1st time pregnant women). It's likely due to surge in hormones, particularly histamine. You just have to endure as the pregnancy advances.

You can regularly go for ultrasound to observe the foetus as it develops. I'll suggest you run the scan every week or 2weeks if you can afford it. You can begin the observatory scan from week20+
