I can guarantee that Peter obi orchestrated this "reconciliation" through his puppet, the obi of onitsha. Lets hope that Obiano will be wise enough not to fall into his trap. Peter obi is very desperate to regain political relevance. smh
Perhaps the people who argued with me here about the rift between them will now realize how far they are from happenings in the state.

There is no rift between them I do not understand why some people are trying their utmost to portray a rift between the two men. If anyone has any facts or details of this rift please enlighten us. Recently, at Awka Peter Obi was made a papal knight of the Catholic Church the gov; was there with his cabinet and Victor Umeh. Also at the recent APGA special convention, the gov; mentioned Peter Obi in glowing terms and that though he was no longer with them he praised him for the good works he did in the state. Governments are not run on personalities, Willie Obiano is the governor and he runs the state as he sees fit. They have both done well for Anambra state and I respect them both.

stop being silly, a thread is already on the front-page about their puported "reconciliation" which was initiated by the obi of onitsha through the president. Everyone in Anambra knows about their rift. There are many articles online you can find out about that since your not on ground. Talking about the papal Knight event, Obiano's commissioner of works was also honored with the same title so that's why he was there probably. Did you find any photo of both of them together at the service?
Finally, saying that Peter obi did well for Anambra is your own opinion which does not hold any water!

What exactly are they fighting over? That everyone in Anambra knows about the 'rift' is not fact. Give us the details which you do not seem to have just mere hearsay. I am aware that the commissioner was also honoured and that they all took group pictures and for your information the governor and Peter embraced each other pictures do not lie. I strongly suggest you look into your records or archives before you post comments. And for your information I support Willie as the present governor and Peter as the former governor, they have both done well for my state it is called continuity.

probably they are fighting over Peter Obi's greed, selfishness and godfatherism intent, I don't know. Its not about hearsay, its real. If you have contacts in Anambra ask them. The obi of onitsha cannot just tell them to reconcile over nothing in such a high profile gathering.

Obiano’s Investment Drive Revs Up as Thailand Business Delegation Storms Anambra
The intense investment drive of the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has had a flying start to the New Year as a strong team of international businessmen from Thailand arrives Awka, the Anambra State capital tomorrow to take advantage of the growing investment opportunities in the state.

The delegation is scheduled to arrive the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu on Ethiopian Airlines flight via Addis Ababa to be received by top functionaries of the Anambra State Government including the representatives of the Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency (ANSIPPA) which facilitated the trade mission.

The delegation is made up of a formidable team of 13 Thai businesses with vast interests cutting across oil and gas, agriculture, electricity generation, waste and water management, mining as well as agricultural equipment manufacturing among other interests.

The Thai businessmen will be in Anambra for a period of six days during which time they would attend a series of programmes that were specifically mapped out to provide them a comprehensive view of the investment opportunities in Anambra State and the processes involved in taking advantage of them.

They will be rubbing minds with their Nigerian counterparts on Tuesday, January 21 at the conference hall of Best Western Meloch Hotel, Awka where they will first listen to different presentations on agriculture, industry, trade and commerce, ANSIPPA, Real estate and urban development, oil and gas, waste recycling and management, tourism, Awka capital Development Authority as well as power and electricity generation and distribution.

The delegation will also get a chance to tour Anambra and gain first-hand knowledge of the terrain and what it has to offer to investors. They will specifically be visiting key locations like the Coscharis Farm at Anaku in Ayamelum Local Government Area, Ogbunike Cave in Oyi Local Government, the famous Onitsha Main Market, SABMiller Breweries, Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing at Nnewi, Anambra State University at Igbariam, Orient Petroleum Plant in Aguleri and the Ufuma Irrigation Project site.

The delegation is made up of the Rayong Purify Group who is interested in oil refining, bio-diesel production with palm oil, tank farms and ethanol by cassava. There is also the S.S Furn-Tech Group which is the oldest group of furniture, particle board and plywood production and wood processing factories in Thailand as well as the Electricity Generating Authority Thailand (EGAT), an equivalent of the Nigerian PHCN.

Others include the DOS Dhammasorn Group which is interested in waste and water management, the Natawee Technology Group that manufactures agricultural equipment and machinery, the Aqua Product and Fish Supplier Group, the Waste Management and Garbage Factory, the Siam DUT KPN Mining Inter Trade Group, and the Production and Business Group which is the biggest group in the delegation.

Also on the list of the delegation is the Global Service Interlink Group (GSI), CYR Agro-Tech Center, Knowledge Education Center, Luvam Global Solutions Company, Sun Tech Seeds Company and finally the Vegetable Group and Organic Fertilizer who represent the biggest group of herbal medicine in Thailand.

The Anambra State government has made elaborate arrangements to ensure the comfort and safety of the delegation which is the very first such initiative in the New Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano is recreating.

The arrival of the delegation comes on the heels of an impressive four months of intense investment drive that led to the attraction of close to $2bn investments into Anambra State.

Interview with Dubem Obaze APGA candidate for Anambra North senatorial zone. hehehehe

Some people believe that your closeness with Obi is likely may make you lose the election…

I don’t believe that. These are rumours. The primary will be open, free and fair. And the party members will vote for the people or the person they perceive that will represent them better. My closeness to Peter Ob is because, he is a friend and did well to my State, no doubt about it but having left for another party, on political basis we are two different divide. Anambra is an APGA state, not PDP state and I am sure even him, Peter Obi knows that. I don’t believe that our party or leadership of our party are trying to edge us out. Who is not close to Peter Obi? We are all his friends. Victor Umeh is his friend. Our current Governor is his friend. They have been friends and associates and colleagues or work in the same institution for 20 years. As far as we know he brought him. So, who in Anambra State today is not Peter Obi’s friend? Are we quarrelling? It is political… We don’t agree on a platform to do things. It is nothing personal. I don’t think our Governor has any personal issues with Peter Obi. I don’t think there is anything like that. At least, he has not told me. Yes, he is no longer in our party. He is in his party, so we meet sometime in February.

My people,
Today, i was boasting of having a good time at the Nnewi mall by the time i visit Nigeria and that provoked an interesting discussion with a very intelligent someone, and he said the design of Nnewi mall was flawed. Now, this man isn't just a charlatan. He knows his onions when it comes to architecture and construction.
He actually advised me never to visit that mall if i go to Nigeria because it was dangerous. His reason was simple. The plan was to make the roof a parking lot, instead of the normal practice of using the ground floor as the parking lot and the first and second floors as the mall and cinema. This individual cited malls in many parts of Africa which used the ground floor as parking lot and the mall upstairs. I also learnt from him today that dead weight such as stationary cars on bridges were an engineering nightmare which could cause the best constructed bridge anywhere in the world to collapse. He did explain a few things about the danger being worse on a hot day when the outside roof is packed with cars and the inside of the mall is air-conditioned.The marked temperature difference on the two surfaces which interacts with how the materials behave under stress. His explanations got me concerned and a bit worried.

So i decided to ask the question here. In the light of many structural collapsing of buildings, is it wise to make the roof of a shopping mall a car park? Should concerned citizens reach out to the executive leadership now to use the ground floor as parking and not the roof? What do you guys think?

If I'm correct, the roof of the Shoprite Mall in Surulere is also used as its parking lot.

Please discount all these "ITK" (I too know people). There are quite a few structures with the roof as parking lots in Lagos. Mega Plaza in Lagos has a structure which is totally dedicated for parking (it is several stories). It stands and is in no danger of collapsing - in fact, we use it every day as the parking lot for our office. Sometimes our cars are parked on it from 6 am to 7pm.

about what ChimaAdeoye was saying, the problems he highlighted would only be there if the roof where the car park is to be situated is not roofed as well. i have been to adeniran ogunsanya mall. i was even there when it was being built. all the car park on its multiple stories were still roofed. hopefully, the nnewi mall will also have a roof.

I spent the new year at Ogidi, I hate to admit it, but Obi is second to none in road construction, the whole of Anambra is now interconnected with good road network, it is amazing. I guess Ngige did some of the roads too.

It won't be an exaggeration to say that no state in Nigeria has better inter-town, road network than Anambra, and what made it spectacular was that Obi wasn't advertising those roads in NTA or AIT like some states were doing, so most of us that don't visit Anambra often, came to think he was doing nothing.

Peter Obi was a true leader.
He knew his good works would speak for him many years after those vehemently denying they exist would have passed away.

I don't know about his other aspects, but in road construction, he has no match in Nigeria, considering the meagre monthly allocation Anambra receives, I am impressed.

And it would appear Obiano is going to follow his footsteps, I heard from those at home that he has awarded a local road in my part of Ogidi that connects Enugu-Onitsha old road to Umuoji, I can't wait for that road to be done, it would shorten lots of distance for me.
