Welcome to President Goodluck Jonathan's Nigeria, the largest banana republic in Africa.
This is what you get when tribal bigotry and corruption rule the nation.
Ignorance kills intelligence.
The sovereignty of Nigeria shall not be traded for the evil greed of desperate fringe elements; whether in the south or in the north.
These so called Niger Delta militants are only desperate to hold on to their million dollar amnesty political contracts and not for the welfare of their people. Because the amnesty contracts will expire this year 2015 and they want to force President Goodluck Jonathan to renew their contracts and the only way he can do so is to make sure he does not lose the presidential election on February 14, 2015.
This is what the whole Niger Delta militants’ brouhaha is all about.
That is why the Henry Okah led Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) is against them and will not support them. MEND and the other militants are more than these ones threatening the rest of Nigeria and are actually holding the federal government to ransom.

Nigeria is bigger, greater and mightier than both the Niger Delta terrorists and Boko Haram terrorists.

The Warri Refinery, the first Nigerian government wholly owned refinery was built and commissioned in 1978, when General Muhammad Buhari (retd) was the Federal Commissioner (position now called Minister) for Petroleum and Natural Resources and Chairman of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation under the then Head of State, General Olusegun Obasanjo.

But President Goodluck Jonathan has failed to fix the neglected old refineries or build a new oil refinery since he became President, and preferred the corruption riddled export of our crude oil and import of the PMS and Kerosene
when President Goodluck Jonathan should have built a new refinery in the Niger Delta and especially in Oloibiri, in Ogbia LGA of Bayelsa State. The historic town is the place where Nigeria's first commercial oil discovery was made at (Otuabagi/Otuogadi) in Oloibiri district by Shell Darcy on Sunday 15 January 1956.

Nigeria is the largest producer of sweet oil in OPEC.
A report analyzing the effect of oil theft in Nigeria revealed in July 2013 that Nigeria lost out on $10.9 billion in potential oil revenues between 2009 and 2011.
Cases of oil theft have increased under President Goodluck Jonathan.

Between 2006 and 2013, Nigeria had spent over N5.42 trillion subsidizing petrol, excluding billions spent on kerosene subsidy.
The amount spent on petrol subsidy alone in eight years is 15.57 per cent higher than the N4.69 trillion 2014 National Budget, and also 10.61 per cent more than the 2013 budget of N4.93 trillion.

and who are you to redesign the MAP?
Macelliot:
NIGERIA NEW MAP & GEOGRAPHICAL REGIONS
* North-east remains North-East.
* South-east remains South-East.
* North-west changes to North-North.
* South-west changes to NORTH-WEST.
* South-south changes to South-west.
* North-central changes to South-Central.
So that the North should know themselves while the south should recognise themselves and not for some green snakes hidding under the green grass.

Obviously you are not educated and very weak minded. ''Nigeria can never do without oil". That is the most stupid weak minded thing ever. Agriculture built Nigeria, solid minerals will maintain it. All Niger Delta should prepare for serious hunger if they allow billionaire militants to confuse them. No body has ever broken away from Nigeria and lived happily ever after. They come away with tears. Please write this down somewhere. Buhari is going to win the elections so all you guys had better go back to the swamps and camps. I would like to tell Niger Delta millitants that there is difference between blowing pipelines and war, they have never been to even an ethnic war before they cant handle it when it comes, let peace reign if they try it people will write their history but they will not be there to read it.

I don't really understand, Who will they be fighting: the masses that voted, the Aso Rock, or the APC candidates . last time I checked, it takes two to fight a war. If they have what it takes to war, they should have gone to North-East to salvage the boko situation and save their son from being voted out.

By the way I am not a fan of either parties.

I will attempt a response to you because you stated you are no fan of either parties.

There are lots of children on nairaland. I have read comments saying they should take their oil yet never said how the country will survive without the oil.

The truth is, we are stuck with the ND oil for the near and medium term as a country and we can only get out of it if the policies of GEJ on diversification are aggressively followed for the next 6 years.

When the militants say war, reason appropriately. They will only set the oil facilities in their backyard on fire and this does not take more than 20mins. But the resultant effect of that 20mins activity is massive. Oil and gas facilities are not fixed like cars in few days, it takes months and years.

No oil operator will keep running an oil production facillity in a chaotic region. Even if you mobilize the entire army to the creeks, the oil majors will not be in a haste to send the workers back in there. This was the case just few years back.

In between, our revenue is lost. No allocation to states, no salaries (remember 75% of employed nigerians are employed by the govt), no projects, zero investor confidence, no gas to run electricity power plants, anarchy, chaos will be the order of the day.

Am not sure most Nigerians have thought this through before commenting. The few who have are looking at relocating their loved ones after the election.

The militants did it before and Obj and his army could do very little with violence. Yaradua was smart with negotitions and amnesty. Before Buhari is done dealing with the menace, 4yrs will be gone with so much pain. So the kids proposing force and violence for such delicate issue are just the kids they are.

RE: NIGER DELTA READY FOR WAR!!!

I was in conversation with a United Nation official yesterday and we were talking about the acquisition of warships by ethnic militant Tompolo, in a country were our brave soldiers are being starved off equipment. He told me point blank that in every major conflict he has assessed or being involved in as a UN official it all started with one fellow choosing to ARM an ETHNIC MILITIA as against the national army of the country, sometimes deliberately depleting the army before the violence starts.

I first got reports of Niger Delta militant Asari Dokubo buying military helicopters and hardware from diplomatic intelligence sources about 2 years ago. Shortly after that he was arrested in Benin Republic but released upon the intervention of our government. What I can see is very clear, JONATHAN is leading an effort to create an alternate military force in the Niger Delta to force the hands of the generality of NIGERIANS when the time comes. How else can one explain Tompolo a man once declared wanted for killing our soldiers now effectively taking over the duties of our navy?

Where is all the money coming from? Do you think the arms are being bought for boat parade or regatta? No they are to kill NIGERIANS.

JONATHAN has never been able to rise to fill the position of the NIGERIAN Presidency, he acts like an ethnic war lord and at the rate he is going he is going to push us into the path of Liberian and Sierra Leone, while silly people are busy cheering him on.

I have taken it upon myself to write a letter of complaint and warning to the United Nations Secretary General to pay attention to what JONATHAN and his cohorts are doing in Nigeria, seemingly pushing the country closer to a violent ethnic crisis.

This crisis would consume the entire African continent if not checked.

This morning I received this in my in box, and I couldn't help but shudder that we are dealing with really devious human beings who have mistakenly found themselves in power. Their attitude and body language says it all:

"I'm really amused that we are all screaming murder years after the deed was done? It's well over 3 years that I have been screaming the overall plans and strategies of the south-south vs the behemoth Nigeria, i.e, their eventual emancipation! For the sake of many who have not read or few who have taken these posts as scare mongering by Oyenuga Lanre Paul, I'll re summarise them here. To free their region of the shackles of endless exploitation and domination by the rest of Nigeria, the south-south decided as follow:

1). Cripple the Nigerian Army's capacities to engage in sustained warfare: thus the encouragement of BH and decimation of the army's hardware and personnel.

2). Ensure Nigeria is economically destitute and unable to spend on warfare: thus the unprecedented looting of the treasury, resulting in our current vulnerability. Okonjo Iweala is not 'coordinating' for nothing.

3). Is the military takeover of our coastal waters by the south-south, which is what the coastal waterways protection contract with Government Tompolo was designed to guarantee. Let no one be deceived, less than 0.5% of our military, (including naval and air force) personnel can swim in an 8 foot deep pool, not to mention a river or coastal waters. Thus, how do you engage these toughened militia in their coastal waters, when we couldn't tackle BH in plain view?

4th). Is the intense frustrations of the oil producing companies by the south southerners nouveau-riche to hand over the onshore production bases to them by forced sale or outright disruption of their operations. As we chat here, 70% of the onshore operations have been sold off by the major players like shell, Mobil, etc.

As well as the training of ex militants as pilots under amnesty Anyone doubting my claims of warning about these can browse through my timeline.

IF THE SOUTH-SOUTH PULLS OUT TODAY, WE ARE SITTING DUCKS! The South-East are tagging along with the south-south, for obvious reasons and I don't blame them!

The choice of Buhari is due to these calculations by our rulers in the South-West and the core North. Unless I'm paranoid, we have a scary situation ahead. I moved my family out as far back as 2011, based on this concerns.

GEJ will very likely lose the elections in 2015, but the south-south will keep their oil. Can we afford a war with a region sitting on oil? Do we have a military capable of delivering our goal? Would it not be cheaper to renegotiate our federation?

Or, would it be another Rehoboamic declaration of "To your tents o Israel"? GEJ ain't clueless, he's merely troubled by the plots he's a key player in?

Viva Le Nigeria'.."!

I even pray make Buhari enter make we come see how him go shut these guys up! There case go pass Odi own! I am not surprised these bunch of worthless rascals are talking like this, they know that if Jonathan loose all the money he gives to them for doing nothing will stop immediately!

Only ignorant people keep citing this Odi massacre as an example of how OBJ dealt with militants during his tenure. Odi was an unfortunate case of state-sppnsored mass killing and destruction of innocent people and properties. Mostly old men, women, and jobless village youths were affected. How many actual militants were killed or captured in the Odi raid? Zero. Did OBJ successfully contain militancy during his tenure? Capital NO.

It was because of OBJ's woeful failure to address the militancy in the Delta - which caused a massive drop in oil production and income for the government - that Yar Adua was forced to BEG and BRIBE the militants in the name of Amnesty Programme.

If you factor in how much capacity and capabilities the militants have gained between then and now, you would have to be very afraid.
