The question I'm even asking myself is why Morocco? Had it been Saudi Arabia I'd understand. I don't understand what affinity Northern Nigeria has with Morocco.

shocked

Our foreign affairs ministry owes the Kingdom of Morocco an unreserved apology- a public one! PDP and her flag bearer GEJ are known for barefaced lies. What an embarrassment!

It is a pity that the various ministries are not independent and must dance to the tune of the ruling party. This is not democracy.

GEJ is a big mistake. When stubborn serial winners like OBJ abandon a venture, wise men exercise caution. It's time to dump this PDP team in the waste basket.

Mynd44:
Morocco has recalled its ambassador from Nigeria, accusing the authorities there of using King Mohammed VI in an election campaign.

Its foreign ministry issued a statement, denying the king had spoken by phone to Nigeria's President Goodluck Jonathan, as had been stated by Nigeria.

The North Africa kingdom denounced such "unethical practices", it said.

Nigeria has denied that the king was being used to win over Muslim voters.

Mr Jonathan, a Christian from southern Nigeria, is facing a strong challenge in the 28 March elections from opposition candidate Muhammadu Buhari, who is popular in Nigeria's mainly Muslim north.

'Astonishment'

The Nigerian ministry of foreign affairs released a statement on Sunday, denying reports that President Jonathan had been snubbed by King Mohammed because he was trying to curry favour with Muslim voters.

"This information is absolutely not correct as the president did in fact speak to the Moroccan monarch... both leaders spoke extensively over the phone on matters of mutual interest and concern," it said.

However, Morocco's foreign ministry responded by saying it wanted to state in the "clearest and strongest terms" that "there has never been a phone conversation" between the two men.

"The king has actually declined the request of the Nigerian government because it is part of the internal electioneering," Morocco's official news agency Map quoted the statement as saying.

"The kingdom of Morocco expresses its astonishment and denunciation to these unethical practices that are contrary to the spirit of responsibility that must prevail in relations between states."

As a consequence Morocco's Abuja ambassador was being recalled immediately for consultations, it said.

Forget about Morocco, but their action calls in to question WHY?
why is jonathan using trickery to influence election using morocco?
why morocco? whats the significance? the angles to this? etc

You are wrong. Nobody is using morocco to influence anything. Who or what is morrocco!?. Morroco is not influential here. Just another arab north African nation under the stranglehold of one power obssessed egomanaic. . Recalling your ambassador because there was a newspaper report that suggested a communication between your head of state and another. . Who does that? The playboy king at Cassablanca is only trying to throw a non existent political/diplomatic weight around. A paper weight country only known for her long beaches. . Nigeria should ignore this and pretend nothing happened. After the ambassador must have finished with the "consultations", ppermission to re enter Nigeria can only be given after Nigeria is through with her own consultations too.

Do you not think it is a very bad offense lying on their king to curry votes? Methink you should castigate our own government for lying this much and not castigate Morocco. They are within their right. It is our government that's evil and senseless.

Yet some silly people will say GEJ is a gentle man ordained by GOD. GOD doesn't ordain a liar.

This Morroco Govt self.

Is the lie not just that he called the King ?

We are enduring useless lies like

Power Transformation - No light in my area for weeks now. (He was even bold to lie on CNN). WHen you are about landing in Lagos. Look down and see how the whole nation is in Darkness compared to what you see before now.

Airport Transformation - Landed recently at our international airport and kept wondering what transformation happened ? Dirty , unkempt arena. The photoshopper to his excellency must be in money by now. He is doing a great job.

One Term - GEJ lied about going for just one term to secure supports for the first election. He even lied that he did not say that.

Bring Back Our Girls - Abati lied about Soldiers in action looking for our girls by posting an old picture of soldiers on parade

Road Transformation - We saw picture of a road eventually found in another country as part of the road transformation agenda.

Election - His Excellency lied that he was not consulted before the election was postponed and he knows nothing about it. grin

He even lied that stealing is not corruption. grin

but guess what.

Some of us still want GEJ TILL 2019 in jail or otuoke. prefferably in jail

You can sense how stupid most Nigerians are. Any lie whether small or big is a lie. There's no distinction about it.

Morocco is right here and can do whatever they like. they are well justified.

Who here would want to be lied against, no matter how smalll it is ?

why did the foreign affairs ministry lie?

To what extent?

Anyone supporting the move of the Nigeriab government and castigating Morocco is morally corrupt and is a blantant liar like this disgraceful government.
