Hyping Buhari's potentials in this way is quite amazing and exposes a whole lot of ignorance. Exasperation will continue to be the order of the day in as much as the long decay in the polity has caused a lot of tantrums.

Over hyping and expectation will pull Buhari down as well. This man cannot do majic to lead us to the promised land.

This school cert and military cert holder may not even have what it takes, but I understand Nigerians reacting to a stimulus, with a mere reflex akin to the jubilations when military took power in the 90s (I was a lad).

I cant help laughing at the melodrama of asking Okonjo Iweala not to advise Buhari. Its just very funny.

I am waiting for the list of ministers and the initial policy formulations.

Lets watch the drama as it unfolds grin grin grin

I believe Dr Iweala is a practical economist in her own right and one of the brains this country has produced in her field, I only feel the system she met doesn't permit her kind of policies with the ravaging corruption in the country. She should have just resigned at least as a matter of principle but it seems the system she was supposed to conquer, conquered her and she is now seen as one of those who took part in the carting away of the countries resources in the last four years. She really has a lot of image remaking to do.

Cluelessness is infectious, she managed the country like a retard. If you can't improve the system, look for ways to block loopholes then you have failed as an economist. Its not about receiving and paying monthly salaries you know. She worked like a primary school economist.
She was getting worse in her job, she should have resigned in the first place to save face, but greed and her corrupt ways didn't let her. You wouldn't believe she studied in America big disgrace.

And who appointed EK Clark as Jonathan's spokesman
Clark was only trying to make sure that his entitlement from the Presidency doesn't stop, but he's unfortunate. David West has been speaking more of Buhari's mind recently. Just days ago,he talked about how we will possibly buy fuel at N40.Good tho. I must say that I like the way David West got back to NOI in this article. We need to have BaBa on board.

There are other intelligent Economists in Nigeria that can do her Job, it is time for someone else to be give a chance. She was in Obasanjo's government and Jonathan's government, it is enough, let her go and rest and let somebody else try to revive our economy.

We now know why. He was loyal to his boss Buhari. Imgine in IBB's government the only person sacked for corruptio was David-West,why? He received a wrist watch from an oil company!

I have problems with the way you marshalled your points.
That she's a practical economist in her own right is, well, moot.
That she is SEEN as "one of those...", I disagree that she is "seen as or percieved as," rather, she is.

You do not have to be euphemistic...she did not cart away...she stole, pilfered, converted resources, financial or otherwise, meant for Nigeria to her own use.

That she should have resigned as a matter of principle suggests that she is a woman of principle which she is apparently not.

Nigeria is very lucky to have people like GMB at this point of time, I remember Tam David West he was sent to jail for accepting a gift from a oil company, a gold watch which was valued at 50,000 naria that time, fast forward to today I will gladly kiss David West's feet than shake the hand of a serving minister, the fact is Nigeria is going to need all the help it can get, in the 80s oil prices was riddicously low $12 to $15 dollars per barrel yet Nigeria got on fine, the refineries were built motorways were constructed, I had just started secondary sch and living away from home my dad gave me 20 naria 4 pocket money after the 1st term I brought back home 8 naria change(foolish of me becos my pocket money was reduced to 15naria) but in those days we brought nido milk for 90 kobo or 1naria, a carton of okin shortcake biscults was 8 naria and bread was 15kobo, my point basically to move forward Nigeria is going to need some good old fashion economics, we are going to have to steer away from institutions like IMF, world bank etc these are basically vulture funds that put countries into a circle of perpetual debt(remember IBB's SAP the genesis Nigeria's downfall) , Noi's is a product of these institutions she should be avoided like a leper I dont want to see the next generation burdened under financial slavery, our best bet is china we have all that they want and they are ready to built 4 us what we need, the leadership of APC should start organising trips to china the usa really has nothing to give us they too are sweet talking china for investment, it will b good if Buhari can visit china asap and forge a better bond

Factcheck; David West was investigated and arraigned in court for collecting one wrist watch and a cup of tea from a company called Stinnes. He was not imprisoned. He was discharged by the Judge.

The likes of Alison and NOI go don collect containers of wrist watches, with no one blinking an eye. cheesy
