Thandolwethu,
Your write-up is only but a PR job you have been hired to do for SA companies in Nigeria, we all know that.
You're not even handling it right.
We know the likes of MTN, Shoprite, DSTV, etc, who run business in Nigeria are scared of what the the whole thing might spill to.
So, how much were you paid to waste your time here?
Why not an open letter to your South African brothers?
My Advice: Your employers should have spent same resources trying to educate their people and control such madness within SA.
Please, give us some respects, leave us alone while you try your PR/writing skills on SA. It might work there.
Peace is what we want not PR articles

nice one...Nigerians should be singled out so that we can see their fake muscles

You people should stop calling Nigerians name because you are afraid of them.

Why are you killing Zimbabweans?

Why are looting and stealing peoples property?

Why are you terrorizing women and children?

Why did you Kill MR SITHOLE after stealing cigarretes from him?

Why do you not attack the White foreign owned stores, Are you scared of them?

Why are your Zulu's such primitive barbarians?

How is opening a Spaza shop, stopping you from getting jobs. Why can't you practice group economics and stop buying from these spaza shops

Instead of you to admit you do not know how the world operates and have been isolated in your townships for decades hence the resentment you are here calling Nigerians.

Are we the ones that Killed foreign nationals in your country?

Stop deflecting and look yourselfs well in the Mirror. Africa is behind Nigeria on this one no matter how many of you come here to run your mouths

1. There is no question that there was xenophobic attack on Foreigners in SA in the past 3weeks. What is in doubt is the scale of the attack. I have noted that Nigerians have overtly blown the crises out of proportion by spreading lies and wrong informatiom concerning the crisis. The idea that South Africans are going round SA cities killing, maiming and burning Foreigners is a lie. Only 7 people have been killed so far and of these 7, 3 are south Africans, 2 Ethiopians and 2 Mozambican. The world media is in agreement with these figures. While its 7 lives too many that doesnt give credence to the news going round in Nigeria that we are killing and burning Foreigners. If thats true then there would be more people dead.
STOP BELIEVING WHATYOU READ AND WATCH ON social media as most are lies and fabricated figments of the imaginations of mischievous Nigerians in other to stoke the flame of discord between Nigeria and SA.

2. Why are Nigerians up in arms against SA with xenophobia when the war in Nigeria is far worse than here in SA. Boko haram is killing thousands your people everyday and theres no end in sight meanwhile no Nigerian has been killed in this Xenophobic attack. That is why Nigerians throng our embassies in Lagos and Abuja seeking Visas to come to SA and escape the despicable living conditions in the slums of Nigeria.

3. This recent Xenophobic attack was predicated on the fact that Foreigners commit so much heinous crimes in SA without impunity and we are tired of all these. We have our own criminals here so we cant add more problems from foreigners.
A. NIigerians are the kingpins of drugs killing our children and society. Your brothers drug our girls into prostitution. They con our people with fraud and 419. They hack into our bank accounts stealing millions.

B. Zimbabweans are involved in robberies and car hijackings

C. Mozambicans kill our farmers and take our jobs for peanuts leaving many South Africans jobless

D. Ethiopians and Somalians open shops to do illegal activities and pollute our communities. Theres a Somalian shop in every 2 houses on every street in SA. No Country can allow that.

SA has its own issues but we would like to solve them without the added problems of Foreign crimials.

If you like burn down shoprite and close MTN its your people that will suffer because these companies employ millions of Nigerians. They will simply go jobless.

Thank you

No, this was just an off shoot from the op's post.

To be totally honest with u....in my view the violence mostly has been caused by the bad behaviour of some of the foreigners and not any other thing....

Because believe me there are some very badly behaved foreigners here...and unfortunately so many Nigerians are rated amongst those with bad conduct but they are not hated.

Just now as I type this I was speaking to a Nigerian guy who owns a salon and convenience shop in Nelspruit and one Mozambican who owns a successful driving school. I relate very well with these guys and so does a lot of other people.

But truth is there are so many others who spoil things for the rest of the guys with their bad behaviour. May be the Nigerian community leadership in SA should hold workshops and drill it in to the rotten potatoes that they are messing things for the good guys...its either they behave or go back home.

As for the Somalis and Ethiopians with tuck shops in every street corner of every village and township...they must also rember they are in a foreign land....we do buy stuff from them to show our support.... But they have this mentality that without them we can't breathe. They can't afford that attitude in a foreign land....worse they even shoot and kill locals for something as petty as stealing a few chocolate bars....local shop owners don't do that.

Mostly the behaviour of the foreigners is the main problem..... Mozambicans kill our farmers, what's that?

Re: Open Letter To NIGERIA From A SOUTH AFRICAN by Oluwaruth: 5:02pm On Apr 24, 2015
The issues you raised in your letter don't justify your fellow citizens' killing of black foreigners. First of all, Africans are not the only foreigners in South Africa and you know deep inside of you that your country couldn't have tried this with the US or any country in Europe. You guys could only have tried that with Africans because it's so obvious that our leaders don't care about their citizens.

Although, while I agree with you that SA companies here in Nigeria shouldn't be shut down, you should also agree with me that we're investing in your country as you are in ours.

On the issue of black foreigners oppressing you locals, it was reported that part of your complaints were that their prices are too high et al but I'd like to ask you - do these foreigners pay taxes to your government or not?

You wrote about those 7 innocent people who lost their precious lives as if they mean nothing. I saw the pictures of how a Mozambican was mobbed and stabbed to death while people watched. Does that look right to you? I want you to know these people didn't ask to be killed. Maybe you would have understood it better if any of your siblings were to be involved. Look there're better ways to handle issues and that is why you have a government and laws to keep people in check.

It's true we have boko haram issue but it's far different from yours and if care isn't taken these people whom you're encouraging because you believe they're fighting for you would turn against you their own. Then, you'd know what it feels like for us to deal with boko haram.

You also mentioned that no Nigerian was among the deceased people but I don't think a Nigerian has to be killed before we speak because as far as we are concerned, WE ARE AFRICANS!

My brother, I am a Nigerian, and you are spot on. Believe me or not, most Nigerians, understand. Nigerians are deeply concerned about how Africa enemies can quickly exploit some extreme actions of some south african blacks against other poor Africans only. Nigerians are deeply concerned that non Africans are avoided. Instead of killing fellow Africans in this fashion, immigration laws should be implemented in full dose.

All I can see here are excuses for being lazy. You people attack successful people out of envy not because they're foreigners. The real reason for this attacks is because you believe foreigners are fukcing your ladies.

Your reasoning is very archaic and backward. Where were you xenophobes when fellow Africans were fighting for your freedom from apartheid?.

Is South Africa the only country with immigrants doing businesses?. You need to come to Nigeria and see how Chinese and Indian businesses are everywhere. But, Nigerians don't go hating on them. Instead we give them strong competition. We work hard, and we give them a run for their money. Example; a Chinese man produce or import soap into Nigeria. Just give it 6 months and a Nigerian will flood the Nigerian market with similar soap and the Chinese will hardly find a market for his/her soap. That's what you people need to be doing instead of hating on foreigners. Nigeria is like USA. You can't possibly come to Nigeria and be more successful than the masses of the Nigerian people. Nigerians will always find a way to not only do what a foreigner is doing to make money in Nigeria, even do it better once we learn it.

You see, the truth is you black South African are very lazy, that's why white people were able to rule your nation up to the 90's when the rest of African nations were freed since the 50's and 60's. Are you black South Africans waiting for white people to give you jobs?. Are you waiting for Nigerian to give you job?. Are you waiting on foreigners to give you job?.

What is wrong is a Somalian owning a shop is every street in South Africa?. Why not open your own shop instead of complaining?. Or, may be travel to Somalia and open your own shops in every street over there.

Foreigners have rights to do business in South Africa, same way South Africans have rights to do business in Nigeria.

You even attack innocent fellow South Africans. Was Lucky Dube a criminal?. He was killed because he was ridding a nice car, nothing more than than.

You see...you don't want to even understand what caused the problem in the first place...you logged in just to howl, insult, swear etc

That's another big issue here. People's attitudes. You do the same even in foreign lands. Be careful.

By the way I do not support the attacks / killings. So we have to be clear on that.

There is a deeper problem here which unfortunately by your swearing and insulting you will not understand.

Thank you.

Africa is behind Nigeria on this one no matter how many of you come here to run your mouths

what is it that Nigeria is doing ?even if all these foreigners can exit south Africa today...we are going to lose nothing because they are bringing nothing to SA....the fact that your people are also affected by those attacks, clearly your people are not feared but are disrespected..the question that you and your fellow poor Nigerians should ask yourselves is...there are many Senegalese and Ghanaians living in SA,why are they not affected?

before your gods give an answer, let me break it down for you..

they conduct themselves in a dignified manner
they are not criminals
they respect the locals that's why the locals respect the back
...............the attacks are over, dont be surprised if they resurface, your country men are a major factor

Since SA is not Africa's largest economy, we are not even gonna be bothered if nobody refers to SA as "developed".......but forgive me, I expect a large economy country to be "developed".

Thank u.

I would not beef your country.. Things are far better infrastructure wise than most ,if not all African Countries save EYGPT/LIBYA/MOROCCO before the strives and problems in the first two countries.. But it is sad that BLACK SOUTH AFRICANS fail to admit that it was not a sole achievement of the blacks.. The WHITES SET THAT TEMPLATE...Coming to a Nigerian forum and beating your chest about a stolen achievement that is already on its way southwards is the way to go...NOT!

Furthermore, you know what is happening in your country at least now...The ZULUS with their cheerleader (ZUMA) are using their POMS POMS quite well.. Smiling to the bank, defrauding tax payers...refusing to take responsibility/ ESKOM/LOAD SHEDDING... I think you should sit back and do some reflection...Right before your eyes the greed of your Zulu people is killing the country and you guys back it anyways....You would soon be where Nigeria is...PETROL FUMES GENERATOR/BLACKOUTS...WELCOME TO THE AFRICAN REALITY BROTHERS FROM THE SOUTH... grin cheesy tongue

I start by imploring you to read this letter with an open and unbiased mind as this will enable you grab the full gist of my message.
I am a full blooded South African, born and bread in Soweto. I have never been to Nigeria and my impression of your Country is formed by the behaviour and actions of the many Nigerians who live in SA and what we hear and read from the media about the goings on in your country.
I deliberately joined Nairaland today as I noted that alot of you are on this Forum hence its a good platform to pass my message. Suffice it to say that i will delete this account after this message. I will read your responses with keen interest.

Thank you

Ain't there police force and court in South Africa to charge and imprison the killer, instead of being xenophobic about it?.

Well...I actually blame the Nigerians going into the back and forth banter with you guys... Just looking at the poor judgement espoused in your post? Seriously....you actually are asking why Ghanaians and Senegalese persons are not attacked?really? So are you justifying the madness and the killing of the foreigners against a criteria? seriously?WOW...just wow...I think you are doing more harm to the reputation of your country men, which has been otherwise good, You can never justify killing of persons that are not of your country ..One of the reason we are human is not in the way we treat the lives of our own people alone, but it is with the kindness, tolerance and love we show foreigners ..because they are vulnerable populations.. A lot of the foreigners from CONGO DRC and the somalies are political refugees from war torn areas...(some 30-40 odd years ago...some of your nationals where in this situation and they were not killed) You can not justify their killing based on any criteria and you can not compare nationals of countries to another.. Who are you to have this arrogance to pitch one country against the other and decide which one deserves to die..

I think you should reread your post and see if it makes sense and if it does to you... Then I am sorry...you don't have to be a street savage with guns and axes to be part of the xenophobic problem...Your mindset is already giving you away....you are letting it known...where your heart lies...you just won't go on the streets to maim and kill... But the resentment is palpable...
