Employ your self by finding a problem you can solve brother. And don't solve the problem for free.

You and the person that trecked frm lag to abj are thesame. U are a determined person and u don't give up easily. Don't worry u will soon shine.

Please where can I get a voluntary job?
Thank you.

There is high need for volunteer workers in the social sector. I run an NGO and I have a lot of unemployed graduate friends as volunteers. In turn, they hone their skills, get valuable experience and I write reference letters on their behalf when needed.

Here's a Nigerian, suitably qualified and willing to work yet the job is not just there. Some of us are not unemployed but underemployed yet the outgoing administration claim they create millions of jobs every month.
Tuesday and Thursday Guardian is no more for job advert it was known for but now "felicitations" to the robbers of our economy.
There's this thing being a serial applicant does to your psych, one begins to deteriorate becoming less and less competitive by the day that you'll be ready to take just any job on offer. This is the worst way citizen of a country can be treated.
For Nigerians abroad, don't even think of coming home. Fvck patriotism, I wish I had known better not to have too much faith in Nigeria.

I am still waiting for someone to say he has just been diagnosed with HIV and another person will blame it on GEJ/Government

One thing you probably fail to understand is the concept of WINNING HABITS which voluntary work is part of is that it'll bring you closer to your dream and stay connected till God makes a way-out. It's not in the fact that money will be given to the OP by us.. But just advising Him to take one step at a time towards greatness.

While I don't know if your story is true, this is the kind of approach that will definitely land you a job. Most people are too busy applying to Chevron, Stanbic etc. They see jobs that pay 40k and say "I am a graduate, how can I earn that". End up staying at home for 3years and come to nairaland to complain.
truth be told, i never carried myself like a graduate but my boss and co-workers respected me for it, though my first salary was 32,000 but has now increased.

Please if you know you have nothing for the OP do not waste his time any further.

I am sure the OP must have seen a billion send me your CV persons. Those people are even worse than the unemployment itself.
They know they have nothing to offer so they raise your hopes high, waste your time and when you start calling them to follow up with the submitted CV, you begin to look like a pest.

Thank you. That's a perfect response bro.

OP, I may not have anything for you but trust me, I know how you feel.

It will come, wait for it.

Kikiki grin grin He starved himself for close to 50 days this year alone and this is just April(120 days)! All these religious mumbo jumbo actions that never work! You better start eating complete meals before you develop some serious illness like ULCER or something which might hamper your productivity when you finally get that job.

See the part in bold. I am a recruiter, I know a fake CV when I see one.

I still do not understand why people design their CVs to suit the positions they are applying for.

Why can't you have one and original CV that shows you for who you are.

Another one is that you should have taken up an internship or voluntary job that would help in building your experience.

Send your CV to recruitersnest@gmail.com. Remember to include your username in the mail

By sending cv via online only , this is just a defensive tactics. . You are like porto defending against bayern Munich in the UEFA champions league. .. If Porto had attack bayern , they would have qualify for semi final. Go on all out attack to firms and submit Hard copy CV.. Visit firms , meet managers and submit Your Hard copy CVs.. I finished Nysc june 2013 with my 2.1 thinking I will get job .. I keep sending CVs online till August 2014 when I vowed to attacking style of taking my hunt to the door step of Firms. I got an in a small audit firm which happen to me my course of study though the pay isn't much but I accepted it for experience sake which I know will be beneficial later.

My dear op , adopt bayern Munich ,real Madrid attacking style and visit coys and submit hard copy. I am still job hunting too for better pay.

Pastorsmilling, you need a change in approach. You need to stop the mindless application-mailing and analyze what isn't working — because the problem might be devastatingly simple.

Ask yourself these 3 questions:
1 Are you getting 5 or 6 first interviews for every 100 reasonably-targeted resumes you send out? If your rate is lower than six for every hundred, there is likely something wrong with your resume or the kinds of jobs you're sending it to.

2. Are you getting one second interview for about every 8 first interviews? If you never get past the first interview, stop and think carefully about what you are good at and what you want in a job.

3. Have you been a finalist for more than 8 or 9 positions, and still not landed a job?

If you answer No to all that , send your CV to me I will review it and make some comments on it. You can mail me on adedoyin123@gmail.com I am ready to help you.
