The Politics Of Radio Biafra And Uneasy Silence Of The Federal Government. by reganvida: 7:32pm On May 06, 2015
I have noticed that a great number of people in the south east listens to a particular radio frequency which i found out to be radio Biafra.
Listening to radio Biafra is not the problem, the problem is the words spoken by the broadcasters. The broadcasters have been using inciting words to bring about a division in Nigeria.
I can remember a particular broadcast which I was able to listen to which preached about the necessity of a bycot of the just concluded national elections, telling their listeners that going out to vote means acceptance of one Nigeria and i think this played a secondary role to the low turn out of the south easterners on that day.
What marvels me in all this is the silence of FG. I don't want to believe that the FG doesn't know about this radio Biafra because the allocation of radio frequencies must go through so red tapes.
Am beginning to think,is the FG ignoring them on purpose? Is the FG trying to use this radio station to create problems when their time expires? Is this part of a larger plan for the eventual division of this country? I don't know, but what i know is that such a radio station should not be allowed to exist because of the inciting programmes they run at the station.

What's wrong with dividing the country? Is Nigeria more important than the people living within it's enclave? Nigeria is just a name, but the people are real. If they don't want Nigeria, it's their right!

We must find better way, though, to address the issue. Referendum is one sure way to address it. Else other means becomes inevitable.

Should your parents be allowed to exist? Should BBC Hausa be allowed to exist? If your answer is yes then radio Biafra has every right to exist.

At a point,it will get to that but as a country called Nigeria, tolerating such means the FG is also sympathetic to the cause. Allowing a radio station to spew inciting words that can cause chaos in the polity.

Look u are not a stranger to Nigeria, every so often the people of the East are either threatened with violence or faced with violence.

They are not given equal opportunity the North enjoys or even the southwest to an extent. They dont feel proud to be identified as Nigerians or equal partners to the Nigeria project they played a crucial part to create.

This igbo people that we are talking about existed before Nigeria and will be around even after Nigeria.

If dey are campaigning to leave Nigeria peacefully, how does that affect you? How is it your business? Wat is your problem?

Nobody poos in no pant. You are free to go if you wanna. I know your minds are set on Niger delta oil. You will discover that Niger delta will never follow you; they know ogbos are greedy and they will never want to play second fiddle to you. Your separation means you are going back to gully erosion. You will reave ragos and be on your own. It is a welcomed development for the southwest.

Since when did people have to be Nigerian citizens to live and do business in Lagos? Even if Igbos get Biafra tomorrow, they will still be free to live and travel to Lagos without Visa under the ECOWAS free trade and movement agreement. Some people think that the 'ECOWAS' in front of the Nigerian passport is there for decoration.

This is not personal, asking me how is it my business and what is my problem sounds as if I have a problem with you. I don't. Am an Igbo born and breed from Abia state. That am trying to air my opinion does not warrant a personal attack on me.

God bless you.
Same question i asked a Yoruba scoundrel few day back.Op,please spare me that trash of one useless Nigerian Unity. Is Nigeria as a country, more important than the people in it?.
Why should we countinue to be shouting #OneNigeria, while a significant part of the said One Nigeria wants out?
Nigeria can only be one, when its constituent parts agree, not by compulsion.
