Since Donald Duke Transformed Cross River State By Bringing In Tinapa,Obudu Cattle Ranch And Many Tourist Site. Nothing Good Has Been Done Since Imoke Came In, Just Increment In Taxation Is All He Knows How To Do. Can't Even Pay Workers In Time.

Am Proud Of Akpabio For Transforming Akwa Ibom State To A Tourist Destination.

Was it Duke that brought the cattle ranch?

Post of the day!

Flets:
The Lower Niger just missed a massive opportunity by a hair strand.

Uyo has been upgraded and positioned the next economic hub in West Africa. Akpabio succeded in putting up all major infrastructures required for a thriving metropolis..... and just one more thing was required......... sign the Ibaka seaport project and concession and Akwaibom would have taken Africa by storm.

GEJ was playing it cool not to offend the south west who believes the port business is their resource. He was just waiting to get back in 2nd term to kick start the project. The south west and North saw this and had to fight as hard as they could.

However common sense can only be delayed and not denied.
Why does Nigeria despite having over 700km coastline still operate only one Port only in the Lagos the south west?

Why was Atiku allowed a concession on Intels port in rivers state with import rates way higher than Lagos and only economical for oil and gas businesses?

Why has NPA refused to renew the dredging contracts for the ports in delta and crossriver state?

Why was a yoruba man few weeks back complaining that the NPA chairman position was the birthright of the southwest.

Nigeria remains a zoo and cesspit. Just because of the interest of a few yorubas, the economic potentials of a region is sidelined against common sense..... which will also help decongest lagos.

Some day that port will ressurect and population of lagos will be halved.

Are Nigerians this gullible? Who told them that Akpabio built the mall? That mall was built by an independent company called tropical probably owned by lebanese or in partnership with another Nigerian. Akpabio was just granted the honours to open it. Of course Akpabio must of allowed them the access to take that much of plots of land. But it wasn't by the govt. the mall is built to take away your hard earned money and to kill your small farms and the central market of the region.

Don't say what you have no idea about. Make some research.

Some of you just hide behind your cheap android phones here with borrowed data to type gibberish... Wats wrong wit d showroom banner and is it a crime to have a roller compactor in a newly completed construction site?

I can go there right now and take pictures of what they dont want you to see. Am sure the door to this mall is under lock and key right now not because it is closed but it was never opened.

Some of us spend good time there at least once a week, since the movie theatre which has been operating for more than 3years shares same building. Tropicana is not a place we cant have access to so if i say it is not complete its not just mere pictures someone shared.

There is no need for research, It is simply how it works. It is just business for the benefit of the owner and to the government in taxes. The people must pay for any services rendered plus unknown value added taxes. who loose?

I did not say that He can't build it, If he can, then it would be private (his company), so are all the hotels, they are privately held company or businesses. You can go to the hotels then and stay for free, or pick something from the mall for free.
If I open or launch a business, I use an influential personality to launch or open it, I can even make believe that an influential person (politicians, actors comedians etc) owns it. It drives up sales. People naturally love to step in places bigger people have stepped into(what a foo lish world).

Sorry to interfere in your conversation, but he built everything you're seeing there.

I stay in akwa ibom, Uyo to be precise. That state doesn't have potholes.
The place I was staying before was not tarred. When rain fell that year the place was flooded and no one could move except with their cars. Lo and behold, someone called the ministry of works to see the state of the road. It didn't take a week before we saw trailers coming to clear the road and preparing it for repair and tarring. Go there now, you will not believe your eyes, smooth as human skin.

I seriously. hope The incoming Niger Delta governors would seek for governance ideas from akpabio so that they could collectively improve the region and make it a hub for investment.

How can u proof they returned him. To power even wen the election was massively rigged in PDP favour? "the voice of the riggers" is now the voice of the pple?

I know. Roads, Hospitals, Public schools and state universities etc, He would repair, maintain and build, These places are where you get things free (unfortunately we don't because we lack the knowledge), or subsidized. and in turn, we the people would pay taxes.

But facilities like hotel, malls, companies are not usually by govt, They just help to provide the space(by the local government).

If the malls was for the state, they would have called it Akwa Ibom state shopping mall(even at that self, it will still be privately held).

other States should use their wealth wisely

I come from Enugu and our 2015 budget is 93 billion naira...

Akwaibom state budget for 2015 is 462 billion naira...

That's 370 billion dollars more than my state n u expect us to use our wealth wisely!!!

What's happening in Akwaibom ain't magic or hard work.
I'm not saying that akwaibom isn't richer than majority of the states. But that anything a state gets either from Federal allocation or IGR should be used wisely. Much more development will be seen. Enugu dey try sef compared to other states

That is the Nigerian State for you, sabotaging itself. The same people will then turn around and complain about bad interstate highways out of Lagos. Our problem remains structure. Re-structure, re-balance this country and you have effectively tackled 90% of our present and ever daunting challenges.
