As for me, I was born catholic, I served masses as an alter boy, I attended cathechism, legion of mary and block rosary. SO I grew up trained to to be a real marrian boy, and defended the faith with all vigour when needed.

But when it was time for me to begin making my own decision, something dramatic happened. somethings didnt just add up. Like the the bible emphatically stating numeriously in several books and chapters that marry begat other children, but catholics would say anything to defend this point.
Like the bible saying that jesus is the mediatrix of all graces, but catholics would rather ask throuh mary. like the bible stating that we should ask any thing in his name, but catholics think God answers more when you ask through mary and not jesus, devaluing the love God has for us which the bible says has no comparison.

Like the unbliblical teaching of purgatory, which undermings the saving power of the blood of christ. purgatory alone is enough for any catholic to want to question the teachings of tje church but they wont.

Talk about bowing to images and statues, praying to mary as a honor and not worshipping her.

This thread could as well be on how JESUS reacted to being called LORD. Jesus said in Mt7:21 not everyone who says to me Lord Lord would enter the kingdom of heaven but only those who do the will of my Father in heaven.

So you'll correctly understand what Jesus said to the woman in Lk11:27 by looking at Lk1:35 Elizabeth filled with the Holy Spirit told Mary that she was blessed because she believed what the Lord told her would be fulfilled.

Mary acknowledged she was blessed not because of anything in her or anything she had done but because God out of His own will alone chose her to be a vessel through which the saviour would come. You are blessed, favoured, and 'engraced' when God chooses you for no reason outside of Himself.

When i was a catholic, a priest tried explaining that passage to mean some kind of special blessing accrued to Mary. And He said something like "blessed are those who hear the word and keep it LIKE MARY"
I almost believed Him but i knew something was wrong with his interpretation. Jesus didn't say LIKE MARY. Where did he get that from? i thought! And how Jesus swiftly responded to the woman's words, bothered me,but all these things did not deter me from continuing with catholicism until God opened my eyes and pulled me out...I prolly would have still been a catholic.
