Use of sharia criminal codes is behind the Boko Haram palaver.

Let the 12 northern Nigeria states that adopted use of sharia criminal laws renounce the adoption and watch Boko Haram lose moral support and then fade away from Nigeria..

Use of sharia criminal laws is a violation of Nigeria's constitution.

Trial in Sharia criminal courts involve hearing of disputes, with an Islamic jurist deciding the outcome. --- it is most unfair to try people without their having a lawyer.

Punishment for stealing is the amputation of the hand (Quran 5:38). This is still used today in countries like Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Northern Nigeria --- if this punishment is reasonable, lots of the elite in Nigeria must have amputated hands. But amputating the hands renders the person unproductive and thereby dependent on the society that amputated his/her hands.

Stoning women to death for adultery …... this is also most unreasonable for the many reasons space cannot allow here.

You think APC will be as foolish as PDP/GEJ that played blame game while the attacks by Boko Haram increased.

4. APC Don't Really See BH As Terrorists
June 2013:

In June 2013 the GEJ-led FG proscribed Boko haram and Ansaru as terrorists groups in line with Section 5 (1) of the Terrorism Prevention Act. The ACN/APC shamelessly re-echoed their opposition to the proscription by the government. They never supported the government.
July 2013:
The UK government declared BH as terrorists organisation and proscribed BH. While the government of Dr Jonathan were elated by the proscription, but the APC and Buhari said NOTHING to encourage the move (remember, the kicked against same thing just a month earlier).
www.thisdaylive.com/articles/insecurity-uk-declares-boko-haram-as-terrorist-organisation/154224/
November 2013
Following the steps of the FG (under Jonathan) and the UK, the American government proscribed Boko Haram and listed it as Foreign Terrorist Organisation (FTO). The FG (under Jonathan) again hailed the proscription, but the APC and Buhari once again went silent.
http://m.state.gov/md123085.htm
www.icirnigeria.org/fg-hails-us-designation-of-boko-haram-ansaru-as-terrorists/

5. Buhari's Commitment To Negotiate With BH:
Let us recall that Muhammadu Buhari in April and June 2013 maintained that negotiation with the terrorists is the way to end the "injustice".
Also recall that in February this year, Buhari in his Chatham House speech did a 360' by stating granting BH amnesty is unfair to the system.....

“Schools have been burnt, there is so much disruption to normal life; people cannot farm and where they are able to farm, they cannot harvest. So, granting amnesty to Boko Haram will be unfair to the system.”
www.nigerianeye.com/2015/02/no-amnesty-for-boko-haram-members-buhari.html?m=1ko
After making the statement which was different from his earlier position, Nigerians were greeted with a sigh or relief because we all thought the "General means business".
However, about four days ago, President Muhammadu Buhari tactically restated his earlier commitment to negotiate with the terrorists (and grant them amnesty) by stating that...

“Every reasonable person would want to see the end to this insurgency. So if they(BH) are willing(to negotiate), why not? You can’t rule that out.”
www..ng/2015/07/04/we-might-negotiate-with-boko-haram-fg/

6. Buhari's led Military Is Yet To Bomb BH:
Since coming to power in May 29, there has NEVER been any report of military carrying out bombing against BH. The only report was that of June 18 Chadian bombing of Boko Haram www.channelstv.com/2015/06/18/chad-military-bombs-boko-haram-bases-in-nigeria/
Recall that Buhari has never supported the Jonathan's government military onslaught against BH.

Why then are Nigerians crying that the military under the Buhari led APC government is being lukewarm in this fight against Bh? Some of us had earlier warned Nigerians before the election on the position of APC/Buhari on Boko Harm.
https://www.nairaland.com/2192450/chronicle-apc-positions-boko-haram#31550176.

I sympathise with Nigerians especially with brothers in the North. We shall continue to cry until the government wake up to their responsibilities.

God Bless Us All

There is a motive behind all this killings in the north. The elders and Islamic leaders have warned non Islam residing over there, who cannot abide by sharia law in the north, to vacate the state or face full wrath of the law.Hence, they are using bokoharam to dislodge non Islam to pave way for a full sharia implementation.

Such a pity that Nigerians and youths for that matter can easily be swayed by well structured and interesting political bantas whose sole aim is to paint the opposite bloc black.
When Soludo wrote about the mismanagement and the likes, he became an instant Messiah but months later, he was back to mere angry man who seeks political relevance. Also, the same feat greeted Senator Obasanjo and Sanusi.
It is a gross SHAME that Nigerians are so desperate and gullible, anything will rock our boat. I am not here to argue for or against any motion, Just to advice the Op and his adherents that whatever We do now, We will always reap. Writing a fanciful article sprinkled with hates and sentiments won't give change. Alot of NLs will like and praise you but what next?

Just like Soludo, you will likely be a liability rather than the asset We seek so bad. Please note that I am speaking independently.

Insults are welcome cheesy

An irresponsible Government at one point or the other must be forced to take up one of it responsibility or the other.

When people feel neglected, they turn to vices.

Niger-delta militant felt the govt would never listen if it isn't forced to.

So also, Northerners reasoned they too could take after the Niger-delta and get same bargain..

Who no like better thing.

As a Militant you get paid monthly, you are trainned abroad to aquire a skill.

If Militancy is the criteria to benefit from government, then by all means every region should bring out the militancy in them.

Igbo Biafra should rage
Niger-delta Militants should rage
Northern Boko Haram should rage
Yoruba OPC too should rage.

Let the whole country be ungovernorable, either the country splits up and every tribe govern herself or the Govt at the Center of project "One-Nigeria" treats every Nigerian equally.

It is unacceptable for govt to pay you just cos you are a militant and then leave those that shun militancy.

We reward the wrong virtues in this country.

You reward a Militant By Paying him,

And reward a Graduate with unemployment.

Misplacement of socially acceptable morals.

If our society is one that rewards waywardness with Govt Amnesty then so be it.

Its really begining to get clear to me the way forward for this country is to Split up Nigeria to its constituent element.

Igbos should go to Biafra

Hausas should remain with Arewa

Yorubas go Oduduwa,

And other minority tribes decide which to align with

Enough of all these non-sense

hmmm... BACANISTA AGAIN

How long will you continue to use the military against boko haram, While i am not against deploying the military against Boko haram, I also think govt needs to use other measures, such as amnesty and negotiations.

The previous Negotiation did not work, because govt was not sincere.

when negotiating, d question is what is d basis or justification 4 negotiation? Second, what are we xpecting at d end of negotiations? Then, what are we offering or willing 2 sacrifice in order 2 get what we want? In all these, u need 2 ask, am I negotiating from a position of strength or weakness? So oga over 2u
