ECOTERRORS:
thanks, the government need to do a lot about the environmental degradation because I know none of the BIG 3 in nigeria will keep quiet with this kind of carnage going on in their land

Nobody is keeping quiet, that's why they are mad.

@ Harrisonn,

Your militants vandalise pipelines and puncture pipes to steal oil.
Your so-called militants contributed immensely to damaging their own environment.

Nigeria allocates far more revenue to oil producing states than the rest.
Your governors or leaders stuffed their private pockets instead of benefiting the people.
Were you asleep all this while not to notice your leaders' excesses?

History has taught us that arm-chair war mongers are usually the first to flee abroad when the real war starts.

Confront your corrupt governors and so-called commanders or contractors for their greed.

War is not an option but if you think it is, fire the first shot and watch the Nigerian military juggernaut.

I hope this time the militants will not scurry into village holes among innocent civilians.

Quote me on this NIGERIA WILL REGRET ANY ACTION THAT MAKES VIOLENCE AND WAR THE LEADING WAY TO DEAL WITH THE NIGER DELTA.
I say this again "Aside that it is evil and unfair, aside that the Nigerian army cannot protect the oil facilities and the damage will ruin the economy FINALLY, aside that Chevron Schlumberger and all will go home easily this time, as they will be blamed for every death and their corporate image cannot stand it in this age of social media, (SHell has already sold of all it owns on land) AMERICA AND RUSSIA WILL GLADLY BAN NIGERIAN OIL AS NOW NIGERIA IS COMPETITION TO THEM SINCE THEY HAVE BECOME OIL SELLERS TOO.

Those who follow this page and who disagree with me often like Chuks Dickson Uwagboi will remember when I said the price of oil will plunge and America will become sellers. That was four years ago and he Dickson asked for the article at the beginning of the oil price crash. Buhari in contras says the fall of oil price was "UNEXPECTED". Truth is that at this point, a lot of us younger men stand to know a lot more than these old men who lead. We follow events more closely and the books we read now is different from the books they read. So when we settle down to write, despite our bias, people should pause and say "there is sense even in nonsense". Here I repeat NIGERIA WILL REGRET AN ARMED CONFRONTATION WITH A UNITED NIGER DELTA.

What did they do with the over 50% of oil money devoted to the region during Jonathan's reign of impunity?
Buhari should simply hand over the 17% derivation to the communities where the oil is mined . They are the ones who are suffering and not Askari and the other fraudulent militants
What did the north do with all their allocations and having been in power for about 40yrs?? How come we have 10 millions children not enrolled in school??

"The Niger Delta militants do not do what they do claiming a call from God. It is purely a fight for fairness. Yes people have become tone deaf to their plight. I hear the thoughts of many Nigerians not from ther, totally believing that they are the aggressors. That is sad sad sad. Comparing a people who cannot till their soil because the soil is dead for one thousand years, who cannot fish because the waters are forever polluted, who cannot breathe clean air as asthma and OCPD and wheezing breath is their lot as the air is filled with all kinds of chemicals...and still they cannot find jobs even in these companies,...companies dominated by Yorubas and Hausas and some Igbos, wealth spirited away to build ABuja, Lagos, Kano, Kaduna and the rest of Nigeria...yet people would call actions by these people "militancy, terrorism, treason, etc etc" . I even called it "militancy"

I have asked people what Boko Haram wants. I Ena Ofugara as a Niger Deltan can answer for my brother Mujahid Dokubo-Asari and say FOOD. They want FOOD. They want their homeland repaired. They want hospitals. They want Oloibiri where oil was found and which till date has no good hospital or road or water to drink, they want what you have in Lagos and Kano. However they can never get Oloibiri back because there is no more oil in that dead city in Bayelsa. It is dead forever.A thousand years must pass before the spilled oil can decay and form soil once again.

So I have answered what my people want. What does Boko Haram want?

Indeed, a thought-provoking article but unfortunately can only appeal to the masses while those holding us by the economic jugular are the 'big men and women' up there who see nothing wrong in sharing our common patrimony among their few selves. Amnesty, what a brilliant idea, unfortunately the purpose was defeated by a wrong approach of money-sharing in the name of youth empowerment when big industries in fishing, boat-making, petroleum by-products, good roads, etc ought to be built.

You know what, I know you were not born then, but Charles Taylor once 'flee' abroad when Samuel Doe was showing his stupid impunity. When he returned Liberia was no longer the same. Let us not push our luck too far in Nigeria. Buhari should just let sleeping dog lie. If he tries to carry this his "winner takes all" and "conquering mentality" or attitude over to Niger Delta, he may end up with nothing called Nigeria. I am sure some wise people advised him on the amnesty matter to rescind his earlier decision.

Whether we tell ourselves the truth or not, this country can never be the same again. Yugoslavia held on for so many years deceiving themselves, USSR did the same, even as close to us as Sudan, they tried, but ultimately they crumbled. The only hope for us is to restructure Nigeria. If we fail to do that and continue this patch-patch ideology, it may be too late for Nigeria.

You are the arm-chair war monger who construed that agitation for independent home land equates to war-mongering. No wonders most Nigerians are regarded as wild beasts. USSR, which was better than Nigeria in every human endeavor, disintegrated without a shot fired in anger.

Whenever a hat drops, SS/SE want Nigeria to divide along ethnic lines. Go round the world and you will find that most countries comprise of different nationalities working for the common good of all.

South Africa, Ghana, Senegal, Zambia, Cameroun, Kenya, Ethopia, China, Russia, UK, USA, Canada, India, Pakistan, etc, are just examples of multi-ethnic countries.
If every tribe wants its own country, will you divide Nigeria into 300+ countries?

Yugoslavia was a western conspiracy aimed at weakening Russian hold on Eastern Europe. USSR was a collection of countries in a union, which could no longer continue the space and global domination race with the west and America. It was not militancy or the biafran-like chorus that dissolved USSR. Even today majority remain in a confederation of independent states.

War is a brunt instrument that kills mostly the innocent people while war-mongers and leaders sit in air-con offices.

I dare say however that Nigeria will be Nigeria and if the militants in the SS/SE want an expensive experiment, Nigeria will execute it with a ferocity unequalled in Biafran war. I pray not for war, though some untrained souls on NL have the annoying habit of beating the drums of war on empty stomach.
