This question has always been popping in my mind for long. Whenever I visit churches around Nigeria I'm forced to wonder if this was what our Lord Jesus Christ had commanded us to go into the world to do.

Cover your hair, some say do not cover your hair! Women should wear trousers to church, some say come as you are. Some bow down to images and pray in ways different from others. The list goes on and on.

Our GOD is not a God of confusion!

Let me answer this question with simplicity and total understanding.Your caption is wrong to start with. ''Why are xtians not united'' ,what do you intend to say?Unity and doctrine are not the same,if you are talking of unity then you have to bring out strife and infighting and to greater extend the ideology to be better than the other. Upon all you observed none has or is fighting the other or claiming superior.Now in a layman's explanation.Send two people to go and cover a wedding ceremony or major event,no mater how close their thinking faculty is,both will not come out with similar news of how the event unfolded except one copied the other verbatim.It is not possible for two groups of a place of worship follow same principle or doctrine,what i think is important is the morality and faithfulness in real worshiping what they believed the right way.No religion is in unisome in terms of way of worship,the basics is what all try to uphold.For the bible,i think the ten commandment sums up the basics to follow,why for islam it is the 5 pillars.Inconclusion,i see no disunity as you try to point out. The man is talking on what he knows nothing about. Why is the ISIS & boko haram sect not considered muslims by other muslims,yet they read al quoran,pray 5 times a day.All religion falls into this scheme of imperfection.It is not peculiar to a particular sect.

No offense to my Muslim fellow citizens...but Islam does have its sects...the two main ones being Shia and Sunni....and a minor sect...the Sufis. There are also a host of other minor sects....and some heretical sects that are not Islam...but based on Islam. And yes...there are differences (Sunnis and Shias pray slightly differently for example).

I agree with you op, another one is look at muslims for instance, they can enter any mosque at anywhere to pray, but we Christians even if we move out of town we would still be looking for our very own "brand" of church to worship, per adventure they don't find their church in the new town, some will decide to stay at home, rather than go to another church, one christian would say I can never attend that church, another would say I would rather sit at home than attend that church and we all call ourselves Christians. Theres obviously division among us

THe only reason most people go to church this days is because they are in need if one miracle or the other (mostly prosperity) nothing to do with repentance, love their fellow human or heaven.
