In an interview granted to Thisday Newspapers, National chairman of APC did allude to the lopsided nature of President Buhari's appointment but in the course of this made a grave statement; which should get every sane Nigerian worried about the future of this country.

Hear APC Chairman here; "The appointments made so far are personal staff members of the president. And it is his prerogative to make those appointments.” http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/odigie-oyegun-henceforth-apc-will-be-more-involved-in-fg-appointments/218888/

So many questions come to mind here;

1)Is APC chairman per chance insinuating that INEC, Custom boss, AGF, Immigration boss, etc are now personal staff of Buhari?

2)Does it mean that we are about to experience conversion of government to family affair as is the case in Lagos, Kwara, and some of other states?

3)Is it not worrisome that most of Buhari's appointment came from his region(North-West) & his wife's region (Northeast)?

4)Doesn't it portend serious threat to workers morale as their career growth is hindered by Buhari's penchant for appointing outsider's to head agencies and organizations of government like DSS, Customs etc?

5)If the Chairman, is saying that they would henceforth get involved in Buhari's appointment; does it mean they wanted to see if Nigerians would keep quiet or otherwise before becoming sensitive to the diversity of the country?...Remember, APC waited too for public outcry from people including their chief consultant; ,Obasanjo before killing the idea of Muslim/Muslim ticket.

Aside that, we hear more ridiculous and irresponsible statement credited to Lai Mohammed of APC who said because former President Jonathan/PDP looted the country blind hence they can't fulfill their campaign promises. http://www.nigerianbulletin.com/threads/jonathan-is-the-reason-we-cant-give-school-kids-1-free-meal-or-pay-n5-000-monthly-apc.116781/

1)Does it mean that APC and Buhari were carelessly making statements during elections without ascertaining what exactly is the situation of the country with regard to our economy notwithstanding the FOI law which APC states like Lagos, Oyo etc refused to domesticate and are fighting same in court?

2)Was oil price not down when they made those promises?

3)Having denied ALL their campaign promises now, aren't they telling Nigerians to expect nothing or manage whatever we see at best?

4)Isn't their action now indicative of the fact that ALL they wanted was power and not any good governance to Nigeria?

5)Was Buhari elected president to gallivant and enjoy protocols or solve problems where there is one and proffer solutions where challenges exist instead of boring us with blames and excuses daily?...Maybe Buhari need to study how Bill Clinton & Barack Obama behaved who both came at a time of great economic challenge in America.

6)Is Buhari/APC already dishing out reasons for failure or mediocrity governance in the next few years having observed that ALL Jonathan did while in government is what they are replicating, and seeking to take glory for from backdoor hence the body language slogan, since they are bereft of new & better ideas?

7)Since when did media blackmail, media prosecution and conviction in court of public opinion; as well as character assassination of individuals amount to corruption fight in the dictionary of APC and Bubari?

8.)Isn't it a pointer that they(APC) and Buhari lack credibility and are bereft of ideas hence instead of unearthing facts cum evidences to prosecute corrupt officials they subject ALL perceived opponents to media ridicule and conviction in the court of public opinion and encourage jungle justice as Oshiomole did?

9)If Jonathan/PDP stole Nigeria's money, why can't Buhari/APC stop making noise and recover same from them to fulfill their campaign promises to the masses?

In all, Buhari & APC should note that empty vessels make the most noise. And noisemakers achieve less, because they are never recollected in themselves to articulate any informed way of progression. When they do more talking, it follows like day the night that they would do less working. Alluding such improvements as in power, agricultural sector etc to body language smacks of childishness and reducing governance to mockery. I wonder which salary backlog Shehu Garba thinks Buhari is clearing... http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/189267-anti-corruption-war-is-non-negotiable-buhari-replies-jonathans-ministers.html

The truth hurts the eyes and ears of many but it can never die. These are obvious facts that many will still come to defend but if only they will quietly sit down and reflect...

I do not blame and in fact support Biafrans who wish to part ways with this country as it is. If the terms of engagement will not be discussed, reviewed and implemented to allow regions develop at their paces then the continued existence of Nigeria as currently run is in doubt.

I wonder how they make promises, coast into power and deny them! Yet they cannot be held accountable?! I think it's time to make it a law that manifestoes of the winning party/govt after elections must be adhered to and reviewed periodically. Not just cosmetic government review but with samples of public opinion from every region because power resides with the people! Failure to meet with promises made amount to a breach and disqualifies such persons for re-election. Maybe then politicians will know that the social contract of governance is sacrosanct.

There is also the puzzling aspect of non justiciability of Chapter 2 of the Constitution that must also be re-visited to hold leaders accountable.

On ChannelsTV, Sunrise daily, the character known as Lai Mohammed was featured. This were the points he raised
* The President, never made any promises concerning the duration of 100 days
* Nigerians should only trust in the APC manifesto(The same manifesto which states that the APC will deliver on some of its promises in a 100 days).
* The publications by the media during the election concerning campaign promises were false
* The APC, during the elections, dispelled the comment by a group claiming to be affiliated with the APC, concerning the President being a sponsor of the Boko Haram sect( but failed to dispel comments concerning bogus campaign promises)
* The President, has the right to appoint any one as his personal staff( the offices are supposed to be public)
* Trial by media, is ok. Afterall, if you can't do the time, do the crime
* The government can not be held to ransom by any public opinion
* There is a report that Ogbonaya Onu is happy with the appointments made/ that's if the report is true
This and many more statements were made by the national publicity secretary on the show. Luckily, after his interview, Barrister Ebun Olu Adegboruwa came on to sufficiently dispel all that was said by the character known as Lai Mohammed.

Chapter 2 of the Nigerian Constitution covers the obligations of the government to the people. The duties it ought to carry out such as protection of life and property, protection/preservation of the environment and so on are there. But Section 6 of the constitution which creates and empowers the judiciary also bars it from judicial review or inquiry into anything that has to do with Chapter 2. So even when the govt of the day is obviously failing in its duties for no just cause, no one can question them about it. (I am on transit now, when I am settled I will produce the relevant Constitutional provisions).

Don't mind those APC sycophants arrogating Jonathan's achievements for Buhari

Jonathan's achievement in fighting corruption includes as stated below

“It was also the Jonathan administration that supported the institutional development of strong systems and mechanisms to curb corruption in the public service and plug revenue leakages. These included the development of the
Government Integrated Financial Management Platform, The Single Treasury Account (TSA), and the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Management Systems (IPPIS), in addition to the biometric registration of civil servants and pensioners which saved the country over N100 billion paid to ghost workers and ghost pensioners.”

You should not be surprised because Obj played same politics of blackmail and blood...

Tinubu is the champion of politics of blackmail and blood...

Wonder why opponents of such men find themselves in grave or with battered image more often than not...

Buhari was deified by folks simply thanks to bigotry...No matter the extent stupidity he displays in the presidency, they will still support and cheer him...

I wake up everyday and see more reasons why I should not share same country with schizophrenic guys who can look you in the face and lie even shed your blood...

Maybe you will love to read through this article written forth night ago by me...An excerpt reads;"In fight against corruption; It should be noted here, that I am an apostle of Jonathan's proactive measure as shown in his yam & goat analogy as against Buhari's reactive measure of jail policy. Has armed robbery ended with all the jail terms meted to them? Why would treasury looting be any different? I am a candidate of Jonathan's school of thought that believes in building strong institutions as against Buhari's or APC knack for strong individuals. I believe just like Jonathan/PDP that Nigeria's challenge is more in the structure as against Buhari/APC's belief that it is in the faces. Those are my creed.

You're right.

From every indication, APC and Buhari were not prepared for the business of governance rather they were tutored in the art and crafts of opposition politics.

No wonder after three months in government and five months after winning elections, they are still unable to articulate or chat a new line of course for the country having condemned the policies of Jonathan's administration.

I sometimes begin to wonder what would've become of this country had Jonathan's administration withheld the handover documents and behaved like Amaechi in Rivers State.

It will do APC administration good to continue with Goodluck Jonathan's policies until they can come up with their socialist blueprint and policies having jettisoned the manifesto that brought them to power.

In summary, I believe Nigeria is in a relay race and our elected governments are our team hence it is unbecoming of a team player to blame a team member as soon as the baton is handed over to him while the race has not been won or consummated. I will prefer Buhari having collected the baton should speed the race and see if Nigeria can be on the medal table after which the blame game and investigations can be launched in full gear.

Ya...I get it now...Actually, I wish something will happen to force Buhari to implement the Confab report because lots of resolutions there will aid and sort out lots of anomaly in the system...

Believe me, Nigeria is presently structured to make a failure of anybody ruling her...just because oligarchs up north wanted to protect sectional interest against national interest...

Buhari is refusing subsidy removal now because of sectional interest as against national interest... PMS will be costlier in the North as against South if subsidy goes today...Same also for refinery privatisation; his political interest as against national interest...

Restructure the country or implement confab report and we have automatically moved more towards strong institutions that encourage success and good governance as against the knack to see strong individuals which breeds corruption and intimidation...

Check out Osun state...Check out free education with no quality in Imo state...

If only Nigeria can have smart and sincere leaders like Peter Obi then we will always smile with progress in all sectors... Just see how Anambra state is moving on without borrowing any single kobo amidst the tight economy...I pray Obiano keeps the flag flying higher...

Now, imagine if APC had been that good and sincere in governance, what states like Lagos would be like today...

It's a pity hearing from Buhari's SSA on media saying on live telecast, that their propaganda and lies will cause Nigerians to stone anybody associated with PDP forthwith.

A ruling party with a mandate to use lies to annihilate the opposition thereby claiming all their achievements even when the country has not gotten it so bad Economy-wise ever before in comparison to APC/Buhari's 90 days in office.

In some climes where institution building that support democratic governance is of paramount importance, some ministers and heads of agencies that introduced "legacy policies" should be retained until their brain child(ren) are fully implemented and institutionalized.

Public servants are prone to temptation that they will steal and damn the consequences hence my support for Jonathan's goat and yam theory and the far reaching institutions he established to keep the yam away from the goat. I know Buhari will not be everywhere to monitor public servants and political appointees hence his fire brigade formula wouldn't discourage thieves/looters from their subconscious tricks.

If they are sure that Jonathan or anybody stole, why can't they do the needful and stop the noisemaking, blackmail and character assassination of people...
Will you in truth to your conscience say that Jonathan and his cohorts did not steal? Who are you to stop the government from informing the citizens the state of their country as managed or mismanage by Jonathan. Nigerians have begun to see light, the days of PDP's impunity to its members and Nigerians is the last chapter of our history. State you views as loud as you can as the opposition, Nigerians don dey see light, if you wail with you eye closed na you sabi.

@bolded...If only you know how much already looted since May 29th...

Buhari came with analogue mentality to solve digital problem...Degree of success here is highly debatable...

BTW Everybody seem to be looking at corruption as a federal government thing...Ever imagined how corrupt an average Nigerian is?...Corruption here is already ingrained in our subconscious... And gets worse as we celebrate wealth over values and morals...
