In the Democratic Republic of Congo, the SANDF speciality is rape. Last year DA MP David Maynier disclosed that 93 cases of misconduct had been brought against SANDF members in the DRC. At least 23 involved rape, sexual exploitation, sexual abuse and assault of women. In a 2006 report about “SA’s sex-mad troops”, a member of the SANDF’s Operational Legal Support said many instances of sexual misconduct go unreported.
So we can assume that the 93 cases mentioned last year do not reflect the full extent of our troops’ sexploitation. Nor is the DRC the only country where they carry on in this fashion. Burundian women have also been victimised, and there have been cases within the SANDF itself. That is, members assaulting, molesting and raping other members.
Zuma may be proud of these bumbling sex predators, but many of us are ashamed. The SANDF is in fact a disgrace, brought to its knees by cadre deployment and a breakdown in discipline. Thabo Mbeki, in a typical over-reaction to the past, destroyed the commando system, which had been an important component of rural security. Very few would now expect the SANDF to be able to protect us against anything.

Rape does not even make grave breaches of Geneva convention. Beheading of suspects, POW and enermy is.

SA soldiers do not even rape, they buy sex fromprostitutes and some prostitutes even take advantage because they demand exorbitant amount of money and threaten rape if their demand are not met.

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Thiza: 1:01pm On Oct 02, 2015
@AUGUSTUS DO YOU MEAN ALL THE 23 PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES IN SOUTH AFRICA ARE FULL OF FOREIGN STUDENTS....READ BELOW THE TRU REFLECTION NOT YOUR DIESEL CONTAMINATED MIND DUE TO GENERATOR FUMES.....

The latest available statistics from Higher Education South Africa (HESA) demonstrate that currently around 500,000 students are enrolled on a full-time basis at academic institutions across South Africa. This includes full universities, comprehensive universities and universities of technology. Statistics from 2001 and 2009 respectively show a cumulative increase in enrolment, across these institutions, of around 140,000 (35 per cent), from a figure of 401,000 in 2001 to 541,000 in 2009. This figure does not include the Further Education and Training Colleges (FET), where another c.125,000 students are currently enrolled across the country. The Department of Education in South Africa is aiming to increase this figure to a million by 2015.

Helmets and bullet proofs sometimes may be too uncomfortable and many troops across the world just feel like putting them away especially when the situation is not tense. However, that behavior may be dangerous you know.

1. ACRIC is not a stand alone formation, its part of the ASF... its the vangaurd
2. ACRIC has MAJORITY AU support
3. ACRIC from its inception was planned to be incorperated into the ASF

So apart from proving you have literally no idea what you are talking about, what is it that you think you have achieved here?
No words can do justice in describing your buffoonery -cum- below par deductive reasoning. I should also add sophistry to your list of vices.

ACRIC has nothing to do with ASF. It is Zuma's desperate attempt to leave a legacy other than corruption and ineptitude.

Only 13 countries supports ACIRC so far

South Africa is dying for relevance and are desperate to be seen as what they are not. S.A can't even pull ACIRC off. No money, no troops and no airlifting capabilities.

ACIRC was almost scrapped at the AU meeting held in South Africa but to save the host's face it was shelved.

Read below another excerpt:
The idea of a rapid response tool under the AU Commission – as opposed to a region-based ASF – can be an innovative tool, as most conflicts do not neatly fall into regional categorisations. De facto the ACIRC is intended to address gaps and flaws in the existing security architecture.

However, in practice it is confronted with significant challenges that endanger the whole project. At the forefront is political disunity. Although the ACIRC was adopted by the AU assembly it rests only on the support of a minority of African countries.
The only way to deal with this is for both the government of SA and Namibia to change their policies regulating health professionals. They should force them to serve the community for 10 years before they can offer them licences to establish their private practice or even work at affluent health facilities. Now in SA they only give them 2 years which is not enough at all.

SANDF can wear 20 different uniforms if it wants to but we do not want to stoop to that level of mediocrity. Many militaries in the world have joined our style of wearing only common camo for all armed services. It is very important because it limit potential impersonation from the enermy.

Helmets are cheap and we have a lot of them than you can count. Most SANDF troops in CAR couldn't wear it because they have been to CAR for long enough that they started to take everything for granted. I must admit that it is security risk to leave your helmet and bullet proof behind. There were also reports that some soldies complained about the heat because most of the countries in central and west Africa are hot.

SA has many private security industries which manufacture helmets and bullet proofs and I hope now they will device something which can be a lot comfortable to be used in climates such as those in central and west Africa.
